Hi Frank, good to see you own the exact machine as I do. Unfortunately, I had mine for 3 yrs now and never once used it up until 3 days ago and I'm loving it so far lol. I know what ur going to say but I was just plain lazy before and now that my baby is almost 1yrs old I think it's time for me to hop on that machine and get my rip body back. Well anyways, do u have the ab crunk attachment part to ur machine? If not I highly recommend it cuz it works great and I'm feeling the result already!
If you have a tire, tie a roop around it then tie it around you waist and run till you can't no more, it works really good. just some thing you could try out. Good luck!
Just pick one thing and stick to it. I just walk -- or at least I did until my doctor told me to take it easy for the next month. Just remember that as time goes by, you will be able to do more and more. Don't push it too far at once or you might crash and burn. Constant sustained effort is best. Take care. I wish I could use my bowflex, but I won't be able to until at least Dec 21st, maybe later if I need surgery. Bummer. You don't know how much this bugs me.
Frank, you seem like a really nice guy and I think it's great that you're working out again. I'll keep my work-out suggestions to myself since everyone has their own system. One thing is certain though and that is, Bowflex owes you a commercial deal. Keep up the great worrk!
Giving up the bowflex as suggested (sorry) is not a good idea; the optimal way to lose weight properly is to combine resistance training with cardio and a proper diet. Try for whole grain products rather than enriched flour products. Reduce saturated and trans fats. Resistance training adds muscle, and that muscle helps to speed your metabolic rate, thus burning more calories. Frank, you should take a week off the Bowflex every 6 workouts. Otherwise keep it up buddy. You're doing great!
my advise to you man if you want to be in good shape i suggest you quit using the bowflex for now and do as much cardio as possible. and remember that diet is the number 1 thing in losing weight. No offense but after 31 weeks i would think you would have lost more weight than that. And if nothing else works try to get prescribed diet pills(speed) if you want it.
Hey man so the bowflex is good at building all your muscles right? (biceps, triceps, abs etc.) I'm thinking about getting one and i would appreciate a real users feedback and not that TV crap. How much are you able to lift now? Sorry for interrogating you but i'm just wanting to know.
Hi frank, I agree with skilltiger that a treadmill would work better for you. That or a stationary bike or elliptical trainer, going 30 minutes per workout 4-5 times/week is fine. All that stair climbing with a heavy backpack is going to take a serious toll on your knees. You do have the right idea combining aerobic training with resistance training.
Frank, good idea. I have to admit though that I I cringed when I saw you put the stump in the back pack. It seems to be a little bit uncomfortable. I Have a treadmill, and I like to listen to music and run. I run 40 minutes now, but I had to work my way up to it. Just a suggestion, try running in place, or maybe even try getting one of those cheap mini trampolines to run. Or even better, do your Arnold voice as you destroy a police station. What ever works best for you.
have you ever tried a weight vest. so that the weight is not putting all the strain on your back. i have one and you can adjust the weight on it. wal-mart has them. it can go from 1lb to 20lbs. just an idea.
Finally Frank... You're already FEELING the results, now you'll start SEEING the results more. (Not saying I don't already see em)
This is your best video yet man.
And as far as what to carry in the backpack, I recommend a large plastic water jug. You know, like what a gallon of milk comes in, but bigger. It's Cheap, and it won't dig into your back like Keanu Reeves (Stump)
Frank, say this aloud, three times fast: "The skunk sat on the stump; the stump thunk the skunk stump; the skunk thunk the stump stunk."

That's what I wear in mine when I do pull-ups.
Happy Thanksgiving Frank!
