So when the Devil takes the pulpit in Israel, get the fuck out of Israel, is how the canon appears to be read by the (crazed Thumper) sites i linked. This brings me back to why i like your version; "abomination of DESOLATION" is the phrase, not "abomination of stopping Rosh Hassanah offeratory services." Biggest problem facing you (Yea, me Not Worried; did i Mention the Black Mother™ is spun on my shit?) is that it's Jesus repeating this prophecy in Mttw 25. He's like, the go-to guy...
Daniel himself was specific in using this phrase, implying it as one in a series of "abominations" that the future Jews could use as Armaggeddon Counters. The "abomination of desolation" seems to be a specific act perpetrated by the false prophet after assuming the role of Templar of Jerusalem, that of curtailing festivities in the middle of Holy Week. When the Beast (or authorized Beast-approved scourge/attorney) makes this decree from the dias in the Dome, run for it.
*having cleared throat, and picked nose just a tiny bit*
*nobody saw/grow up*
As i read the whole of this prophecy, it stands out in my NeoDravidian Vision™ that the phrase "abomination of desolation" is specifically used in all the primary texts and concordances cited (Except where the American Heritage Outrage Bible-Like_book of Werdz™ supplies verse).
Did i ever mention my early college days as a theology minor? I can't help but get gayz0rx with th' texts at any/all slight excuses, what with the entire (not) human spewage on subjects Deific at my int3rtubular fingy tips. And i really do like your abreviated version of the prophecy better; you of course knew that replacing the comma after "holy place" with a period changes the preceeding clause from a dependent descriptor to an active subjunctive command...
LL0lz!!hardC0r3!! (you're knot raely gurl/srry if realz 4 boi-lumping; uncool of me as Candidate/fucking massive stud to do that to th' Ladiez/i know ALL, yer a dude=piehole wha?--)
at any internet'd assumptive, DUDE! you finnally found eyemran! He fucking rocks, glad you sub'd and such...
"theology miner"= too brilliant, i cry over wasted semesters now having scene.
'k, you wanna be gurl, yu grul. I believe whatever i'm told twice. (Why did i think/assume you were a guy? it's actually kinda odd - i usually don't have a "solid" assumption vis-a-vis M/F; but i was SURE you were male, as if it said so on yer prophile, which it doesn't...)
I keep thinking that this is key, somehow... and maybe it's an Aramaic text that you soaked it up from, since (it seems) like you definately source it in the Book Of Daniel proper, whereas contemporary bastard canon draws on Jesus in Matthew. Why i think this, dunno. Why i think i think is certainly up for scrutiny at this point. I seem to have a busy error generator.
Glad to provision enjoyment, ft67! In the wisdom of my Apache forebears, "long time, no see."
The Casa Bonito complex featured inbetween Mayan pyramids is a particular example of how local Neolithic civilizations mirrored their Mesopotamian contemporaries, creating walled arena complexes aligned to celestial cycles (solar) capable of holding thousands of people who diligently deforested the surrounding landscape until their cultures collapsed. Today we have deserts and the wisdom of wind.

ha actually that's how i remember it from the king james--as a command. hmmm. says something about me. or maybe i got a fucked up bible
so we're standing in the holy place when we see the abomination of desolation? or is it in the holy place when we see it(& we're not)?
i get a lot out of looking at the aramaic and hebrew versions of passages instead of the bastardized civilized institutionalized english
not that i'm a scholar--just a theology miner.
(yuk yuk)
by the way i'm a gurl.... :P
