  • Ive spent weeks looking into good tube amps and pedal boards, u just sold me in the Valveking, thanks for the demo. This and the m13 will make excellent additions to my ESP LTD Fx400SM and ESP eclipse II.

  • Well - The vk does metal alright, but just not in the matching cab, it sucks imo! Cool tone btw

  • false and shit demonstration of that amp. thought i was gonna hear some proper brutal death metal.. not some core shit

  • @fullmetalfacemelt Don't like it you can go fuck your self! Btw you call Whitechapel core shit? May the hatin begin!

  • @YourMyDinner and yes whitechapel is core everyone knows that they are amazing but they still labeled as core, they has nothing to do with death metal thats all

  • @Dfiend92 Yes we all know it is core, and a awesome core band. But it aint Core shit like he said! If you look at his comment, he said that he was expecting to hear some brutal death metal, not some core shit.

  • @YourMyDinner well its up to your own taste, i like everything related to heavy music metal/hardcore/punk/rock etc.. one thing... i HATE BANDS LIKE ALL TIME LOW AND BLACK VEIL BRIDES. that is gay SHIT

  • @YourMyDinner Dude, don't even respond to this garbage. You got over 30,000 views on this video for a reason. You have the best demo of this head in an extreme metal level. None of the other videos come close my friend...not even mine lol.

  • @SEIJITV i know its not a review but breaddyvengeance had a really good tone with this amp...

  • @brandonmarks13279 I actually like his stuff...

  • Comment removed

  • @fullmetalfacemelt lol yur face is brutal dude''

  • Love the rift from whitechapel dude.

  • thanks for sharing amp sounds fucking awesome i have shitty stock pickups in the guitar i have i am going to get emg 81 and 85 will they make a big difference?

  • @WoeIsMotionless yeah I think the emg's will it sound a little more crisp

  • The VK100 is the way to go man, especially for the price. I just uped to a 5150ii, and tone comparison is about the same. I think the 5150ii has a bit more body, but the VK100 might have a bit more edge. I'm in the near future going to re-tube the 5150ii with some "JJ's", and see if there will be a big difference.

  • i played this amp 5 months ago at a weird music store... the gain wasnt that good enough for my taste...you are using a tubescreamer? cause it sounds great here

  • what cab are you running it through?

  • Comment removed

  • what is the volume on?

  • @FEAROWNAGE Really low, like @ 1

  • more lows!!! haha

  • @brandonmarks13279 I totally agree with you man, but it could be that the camera mic is cutting them out... :/

  • @ScreamynDemon Yep. If you see my other video. you can see that with a different camera it has more lows!

  • Your tone sounds like shit....

  • @Anarchyffan This ain't my tone...

  • @YourMyDinner lol, thats cuz yur black''

  • @manomyth11 I have no problem with black people. BUT SINCE WHEN I'M FUCKING BLACK ?

  • @manomyth11 I have no problem with black people. BUT SINCE WHEN I'M FUCKING BLACK ?

  • Lol yea I'm sorry yur black too @YourMyDinner

  • @manomyth11 LOL. Yep thats what i call some retarded youtube shit.

  • I have MesaBoogie tubes in my VK. Mines alot more gainy and drivey sounding! You should get rid of the Ruby's and get Mesa's! :) just sayin lol

  • Right so hows this set up man have you got the clean channel on the use the boss sd1 to make that sound or what kinda confused as im buying this head but would like to re create this tone ?

  • @marcuskallmeier91 Nop. I'm using the sd1 with the Overdrive channel.

  • @YourMyDinner ok sweet so whats the setting you use for the pedal man

  • @marcuskallmeier91 It's the same has in a tube screamer: Tone at you're liking. Level FULL Drive 0%

  • so you didn't mod the Peavey VK at all?! :p

  • @CatastrophicG Only aesthetic wise.

  • great man, well done! it amazes me how normal the gear is you use for that huge sound, killer! :p

  • which speakercab are u using in this vid? any specific cab? straight or angled? speakers? eminence or v30's? all those details heh...it all matters i think :p

  • @CatastrophicG The cabinet at the time was really crappy. it was a 1x12 speaker cabinet that i made from a Marshall Combo. The speaker was a Eminence Legend 125.

I use a Marshall 1960A Angled 4x12 now. And it sounds Breeewtal.

  • so simple set-up, really nice. the sound is still quite huge, really what i like.

I know the head for some time, didn't know that it could sound that good.

i was always used to the 5150 amp which is very good i find :p

the VK is way lot cheaper though in price...

    cheerz man

  • Sounds amazing! which settings do you have on this video?! well done!! which guitar do you play here? active or passive pickups? cheerz, man

  • @CatastrophicG The settings are in the description. I used a Cheap ESP LTD ec50 with stock passive pickups. Cheers

  • Stock Tubes?

  • WHITECHAPEL!!!!!!!!!!!! NICE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh yeah i see it now in the tags.

which Eminence speakers do you have rigged up in it? cause this is fucking heavy.

  • theres no way ur not boosting this amp with a pedal.

  • @InfiniteMisery003 But i am. Its said in the description i am. With a tubescreamer mate.

  • OK im sorry but that kinda sounded like shit.

  • damn metal heads lol

  • Do these heads have a footswitchable boost?

  • @vainparasite Yes it does!

  • drop A! yeeeah!

  • I had one of these and ran it through a Marshall 1960A cab before it blew :/. Now I got a 6505+ and Mesa Dual Rec. and I believe the VK sounded better than the 6505+. Sick tone bro, keep it metal!!! \,,/

  • @ YourMyDinner, Dude fuck all of these douchequeens they are just jealous that you can take a $225 dollar amp and make it sound better than their ENGL's and Mesa's. I get the same thing all the fucking time dude! Nice job!

    \m/><\m/

  • Nice whitechapel riff right there for like ten seconds

  • how the hell do you get a valveking to sound like this?!?!?!?! i hate you and your sorcery

  • I have this amp. I love it. I play 6,7 and 8 string guitars on this thing. The only thing I did to handle the lower tuning is add a sonic stomp crank the presence and resonance all the way up. Highs all the way up bass and mids, 3/4 the way up with the bass just a tad backed off from there. I do plan on getting new pick ups for my 8 string, but it actually has a pretty good tone for heavy chordy kind of stuff. For heavier intricate technical stuff, I have different settings. not as much lows.

  • @xlr8r2010

What A Fuking Lame ! hahahahaha!

  • Did you use any pedals?

  • tone is great but that cam mic sucks it

  • dunno why but I just keep coming back to watch this, man it sounds good

  • How can anyone think this sounds good? This made me cringe, its amazing what passes for "Good Tone" anymore, why the fuck would anyone want to play in drop A tuning? lmao

  • @xlr8r2010 Whats the Problem with drop a tuning?

  • @YourMyDinner its lame....its for unskilled one finger barre chord players.I see all these videos of people using drop tuning, they all play one finger barre chords and think they are awesome rhythm players..lmao

  • @xlr8r2010 Its lame that you think that. Since i have a bible of chords i know and use. Even in Drop A. But i guess the only chords you know are Power chords that are used in Standard tuning. Thats sad..

  • @YourMyDinner Actually any tuning can be used for skilled musicians like me :) Just practice practice and practice! :)

  • @YourMyDinner

    Obelisk to your patience :)

  • @xlr8r2010 Then you're watching the wrong videos. There's plenty of songs that are difficult to play that are in Drop A tuning. The only reason for it, is that it sounds heavier, and when you're playing the heaviest form of metal there is, you need heavy. Not everyone has to strum standard chords in E tuning.

  • @xlr8r2010

you dont have any clues about playing ... seriously throwing out such a comment just shows how you dont know anything ... its NOT about playing the most difficult shit. also a drop tuning gives you note opportunities that are not achievable using a standard tuning, no matter how hard you try.

and know what who plays in drop A ? ... nile, now call them unskilled. i loled.

  • @xlr8r2010 standard tuning is boring

  • @xlr8r2010 Technically Tosin Abasi uses drop tuning and if you're calling him an unskilled guitarist then that's just sad

  • @globalgemo Don't forget Jeff Loomis lol

  • @xlr8r2010 I hate people like you. Drop tunings can be used to achieve amazing sounds, the problem is you don't even bother looking in the right places.

PS. If you don't like this sort of tone, WHY THE FUDGE DID YOU BOTHER LOOKING FOR IT?! Geez.

  • @xlr8r2010 Dude...are you actually suggesting that it takes alot more skill to do normal power chords than chords in drop tuning...theres really not that much of a difference in the ability required. also one of the most technical bands I know, Nile, play in drop A...

  • @xlr8r2010 Dude...are you actually suggesting that it takes alot more skill to do normal power chords than chords in drop tuning...theres really not that much of a difference in the ability required. also one of the most technical bands I know, Nile, play in drop A...By the way @YourMyDinner is there any chance of you making a video with the valveking in D tuning (not drop d) ?

  • @xlr8r2010 If you think drop tuning is for unskilled players I think you should check out Psycroptic... lol

  • @xlr8r2010 You my friend have clearly never heard of periphery. Go look them up and then try and talk about "unskilled one finger barre chord players".

  • @xlr8r2010 a lot of people play in drop A. and a lot play lower :P

  • @AnOddMusician Yeah..they are called LOSERS!

  • @xlr8r2010 theres nothing wrong with drop tunings.

i cant make you not be a dick about it but i am not gonna be an asshole so all i have to say is i like to play in drop A, Ab, C standard, Drop C, and all that.

  • @xlr8r2010 andy Mckee and antoine dufour both tune down to drop B sometimes. and Don ross has a song tuned to drop G#

    they are winners.

  • @xlr8r2010 to suit their personal taste

  • @xlr8r2010 considering its recorded through the camera mic....oh wait, that's all that needs to be said

  • @xlr8r2010 I'm a drop D fan. I don't see how playing a standard power chord is any harder than barring it. Not only can you get lower chords in drop D you can also play faster. I just see it as an advantage. And I think you are checking out the wrong guitarists. There are all sorts of metal bands that shred in drop tuning.

  • @xlr8r2010 Check out Born Of Osiris, they play in Drop G (even lower) and they are one the most technical/advanced bands I listen to. I doubt playing this low is for "unskilled one finger barre chord players" Shut the fuck up and stick your standard tuning up your ass.

  • @TWLB17 BOO is definitely Drop C, at least for The New Reign. And bands who play in drop G are usually using 7+ strings. Im not a huge fan of Drop A tuning just cause I dont usually like the tone but if people know how to work their amp it sounds soo nice. that xlr8r kid is a bit of a retard.

  • @xlr8r2010 Who would play in drop A? Only idiots like Isis, Sunn O))), Meshuggah, and myself... laugh your ass off all you like numbnuts.

  • @rrippp Isis used drop B mostly as far as i know, but good point nonetheless :P

  • @xlr8r2010

    hey go fuck yourself troll...

  • @xlr8r2010 Why the fuck anyone want to play in Drop A? Because you can play the songs of In Flames. FTW

  • @xlr8r2010 ive never considered myself an amazing rythm player. or even a decent one. maybe we just like what we play? sorry but the fast solo's and smooth melody's of 80's rock just arent for me

  • @xlr8r2010 i dont play in drop a tuning (i play in drop c or c# most of the time, sometimes in drop d) but seriously... this sounds fucking amazing...

  • are they the stock tubes?

  • @Stem7624 Yup

  • Finally someone is in drop B like me !!

  • @sk8ersynistersean Correction. Drop A sir.

  • @YourMyDinner On a baritone guitar or with massive strings, I hope?

PS. A lot of people say the Valveking can't do brutal, I think this video proves otherwise.

  • @OtherRealmer Actually. In a cheap 6 String, with massive strings.

  • @YourMyDinner Thought so.

The guitar doesn't sound that cheap though.

  • Dude i got this exact same head and cab, What are your ettings?? I cant see them in the vid. And what kind of pedal is it??

  • what are your pedal settings?

  • @TheCooody

    Level - Full

    Gain - Zero

Tone - A little past half way

  • what tube screamer do you use?

  • @TheCooody Boss SD1

  • @YourMyDinner Do you have any sort of noise gate?

  • @TheCooody Nop. But actually i just bought a BOSS NS2. Its on its way here right now. And actually my tone is waaaaaay better now than in this video.

  • Hey I got a Valveking vid on my channel if you care to check it out. I don't use a Tube screamer and I use an old Crate cab to carry my sound and I'm satisfied with my metal tone.

  • What settings do you use?

  • this amp is a metal beast, but DO NOT USE VALVEKING SEKERS FOR METAL. get gelestion GT-12's or Carvin GT-12's. (carvins are better). i use this on my marshall 1960A cab and it blows my marshall JCM 2000 100 watt out of the water without the use of pedals. Also its louder and has great tone. I use the noise decimator in the loop. my the sounse isnt really intolerable. then again i dont run an overdrive through it, it has plenty for metal. its a great amp. the valveking speakers do good blues

  • I have a question. I just recently bought this head, and the reason why I bought it was because of this video. And also because I thought this head could have the balls to give me a nasty crunch. I plugged up and set my EQ to my likings and I was not delivered the tone I sought out for. There's barely enough crunch and the gain is ALL the way up! I don't get it! I have a C-7 Hellraiser with 707's & I run it straight to the VK which runs through a Randall 4X12 cab. Please help me...

  • @xfatzombieassesx Dude. The keys to a good tone in this amp are:

1 -Tube screamer - With this you will have all the crunch you need, even with the gain a half.

2 - Good EQ - Explore the amp for a few ours, and with the tube screamer you will find a tone at your liking. Play around with the texture and presence knobs.

3 - Volume - You will need to crank the amp to have a good tube driven tone.

4 - Noise gate - Just to clean things up, and take the bullshit feedbacks.

    Hope i helped.

  • @YourMyDinner

should i buy a ts or sth like a boss metal core, to crank the tone to maximum brutality

another question is: one of my tubes doesn´t shine as bright as the other ones

should i send the amp in and let it repair, or should i just leave where it is?

  • @xfatzombieassesx Make sure your VOLUME BOOST BUTTON and GAIN BOOST BUTTON are pushed in on your amp. Sometimes if you have the Valveking foot-switch plugged in the led for volume boost will be lit but the button won't actually be pushed in on your amp. Both of those buttons greatly impact your distortion level, make sure those boost's are engaged on your AMP first then your FOOTSWITCH. I had a similar situation and almost sold it and a guitar. Happy Shredding.

  • @xfatzombieassesx You can't just set the EQ to your likings, you have to sit down with it and chug-a-chug for hours even days to get a good tone. I was on mine for at least 2 weeks because I just set it up and played, but believe me when you actually dial in the tone right you can go beast with this thing. You could try it like how YourMyDinner does it or get an MXR 10-band EQ witha BBE Sonic Distortion.

  • @xfatzombieassesx I use a distortion pedal to keep from having to hit the overdrive pedal and the pedal on the amp. It may sound a little better but there's no way you can do that live. Having to hit 2 pedals to get brutal tone is insufficient. Keep the EQ and the Sonic Stomp on at the end of your chain and then hit the distortion whenever you need to. I use a Zombie Rectified Distortion pedal on mine to get that beast Mesa tone.

  • I'm sure I read on one of your earlier comments that you've got a noise suppressor in your chain? If so, was just wondering how you've got everything configured? CHeers dude!

  • texture knob settings? greatly appreciated

  • First off, YES the Valveking CAN do metal, and it can do it very well might I add. Second, the head is only half of your guitar tone. You're going to want a well built cab with good speakers to get the true potential out of the head (the peavey matching cab doesn't suffice). I'd highly suggest getting something with v30's or g12[75's] in em. I've tested both and both sound FANTASTIC for various types of music including METAL.

  • i love this amp. loud as hell too. i think a problem is that to get it to sound really super heavy means cranking the volume, much like you would an old marshall. my amp settings are more old school; bass max, mid max, high on 4, and resonance and presence are just at the 12 oclock. my gain is set to three with the boost engaged and it already sounds about as heavy as imact is eminent era exodus. max gain is just sick. amp also mid scoops well although i do not do that. imagine it w/ EMGs

  • hey I got a question. right now I have a line 6 spider 3 150 watt combo amp but I recently joined a band and i'm probably gonna be in the market for a new more powerful amp. we play bullet for my valentine, disturbed, metallica, little bit of lamb of god, and sometimes we just jam and see what we can come up with ourselves. Can this amp do those bands justice just by itself or would I probably need a pedal like an ibanez tubescreamer to help it out?

  • @prssecustum Hey. This amp is more than enough for what you want. You wont need the tube screamer at all. I only use the tube screamer to achieve my desired chunky tone, for DeathCore & Djent . Because all the magic and EQ is in the amp. The tube Screamer only gives it a Pre-Processing Drive.

  • @YourMyDinner thanks man. i'm not gonna be able to get this amp any time soon but that helps out BIG time. my dream amp is this one's big brother the 6505 but that's almost a 1000 dollars more and if I can give me that one tone i'm lookin for then by all means hell yeah. it just seems on the videos the sound is a little fat and not that razor blade metal sound, but i'm guessing that's not the case at all when you play it in real life?

  • 0:24 wow ;D darkest day of man riff :D how awesome ! whitechapel still one of my fav!

  • i have the valveking and a ts9 and it sounds alright what other pedals would i use to get a killer tone like that?

  • @BFMVFREAK2010 I think the only thing you need is a Noise Gate to make things clean. I only use a OD in the front of the amp. I have a delay, and a chorus pedal. But i don't use it in the video.

I guess all you need is the correct EQ for your desired tone.

  • @YourMyDinner so what would i need like the boss ge-7 ?

  • wich is better for hard rock and metal?

what do you think between this 2 options: peavey valveking100 or bugera333xl??

please help me. I'm searching for a sound range between AC/DC (live), W.A.S.P and megadeth. I like bright in the distortion.

    thanks

  • @sementalinchains Actually this amp is pretty bright and crunchy. And i think it would be perfect for what you want. The bugera 333xl is a pretty awesome amp too, i have tried it but in much heavier tones, still from what i know about the amp, i think it would be a good choice too.

I would go to the Valveking if i were you. In my opinion its better built.

  • Any pedals?

Sorry if it has been asked before..

  • @skatterpro No Prob, yes i was using a Boss DS1 in the front of the amp.

  • @YourMyDinner

What would you think of a Ibenz TS9 infront of this beast?

  • @skatterpro I think the TS9 is THE best Tubescreamer for this amp. No doubt dude!

  • @skatterpro The Digitech Bad Monkey is good too. That's what I use with mine.

  • I'm getting a TS9 anyways so.. ;)

  • Holy fuck, Whitechapel tone on a VK, didn't know that was possible.

  • Yeah, that X2N is insanely brutal. I had the pleasure of trying one out on Chuck Signature once, I liked it better then the EMG 81, and thats saying something. I like what you did with VK head by the way, I took off the cheese logos on mine as well. But, I am however stuck with the VK cabinet, ugh! Great guitar work dude!

  • what pedal are you using?

  • I installed a DImarzio X2N in my guitar, in the bridge position. No need for any booster pedal. It's fucking heavy :D

  • sounds sick! cant beat a VK for the money, i got mine sounding better than my other guitar players 6505....although i dont have the low end he has haha...thats what the bass player is for haha

  • @shinfo002 I have 100% the same opinion, the same happens to me. The guitarist from my band, as a 6505 too.

  • what's better for playing Children of bodom , Megadeth stuff , a Valveking or a 6505+ ?

  • @Minorock93 The 6505 is always a better metal amp than the valveking, but for those bands, the valveking is better. No need to waste money on a 1000+€ amp when the valveking works jut fine.

  • @YourMyDinner yes and you can buy the bugera 6262 to get a 5150 tone :)

    nice vid

  • i had mine for 10 months, then it died.

i turned it on but nothing happened -.-

    fuck

  • could you write down the settings in the descriptiion? i find it a bit hard to see in the vid

  • @Ahti333gm Done ;)

  • Im getn this in a few days iv only played it once and for like 2hours i loved it but im new to tube amps can u tell me more about it like what i need for it cuz i use solid state amps.

  • @myguitar856 Just be sure to let the tubes warm up before you play, by using the standby button on. And between 2 years or so, do a check up to see if the tubes are still good. Remember tube amps sound better when you have the volume cranked up. Hope it helped. And yeah i really recommend this amp.

  • Whitechapel.. sounds amazing :D! nice demo!

  • I LOVE THAT SHIT!

  • i have the same amp and im going to buy a new cabinet i just don't know whether to get some vintage 30s or some eminence speakers, do you have any idea which is better for low tunings?

  • @Hellraiserzzz EveryBody loves the V30, and i hate them, just personal opinion they are just too trebly for the kind of metal i play. In this and all my other rehearsal videos i Use Eminence Speakers. The speakers i really recommend are the g12t-75 by Celestion.

  • @YourMyDinner yeah a friend of mine has a cabinet loaded with g12t-75s and it sounds bad ass, but i've heard such good things about the texas heat yet i'm still not sure.

  • @Hellraiserzzz i ONLY use the texas heat....MUCH MUCH better than the g12t's, a 4x12 with 2 Heats and 2 V30's in an x pattern would DESTROY the cab with the g12's

  • @mopheadthe3rd what about man o war speakers?

  • @Hellraiserzzz only ever heard them being played in a classic rock type of setting, never heard how they handle high gain,

  • @mopheadthe3rd shame because i've to eminence's website and i listened to some sound samples and they sounded good, but i'm still not sure about high gain settings.

  • @Hellraiserzzz In my experience an eminence ONLY cab sounds fantastic, but so does a celestion only cab, but the best cab on EARTH is a Oversersised Mesa Recto-cab with 2 texas heats and 2 v30's in an x pattern..its wat my old lead guitarest used, NEVER heard a better sound come from any other cab

  • @Hellraiserzzz i KNOW the SWAMP THANGS handle gih gain really well, i had a buddy using a 2x12 seicsmic audio cab loaded with em and it sounded pretty massive

  • @mopheadthe3rd lol just found out that my friend's cabinet wasn't loaded with gt12t-75's it's actually loaded with g12h-100, anyways i consulted an eminence employee and he told me that texas heat speakers are the best for low tunings and high gain.settings, so it's settled! tomorrow i get some texas heat speakers, i'll make sure to give you my feedback once i install them ;D

  • Comment removed

  • @Hellraiserzzz HELL YA! you made an excellent choice....just remember: dont expect them to sound perfect out of the box, its takes a few hours of playing through them to get em broken in...PEACE!

  • @Hellraiserzzz i have the vk100 and i personally use a fender bandmaster cab with it. i know what yuoure thinking, fender+low tuning=crap, but i was surprised. the lows are very ballsy but tight at the same time. its 2x12 though, so if you were looking for a 4x12 i would reccomend the 6505 cab. best cab for the money in my opinion.

  • Gain at zero? What would it sound like with gain at full?!

  • @ChaserHUN It would sound horrible. Because the TubeScreamer or OD is only used to push from the tubes, to give that bottom end, chunky tone, by having the level full, and gain at Zero. Not to give Gain. The amp by it self has enough gain.

The result of a tube screamer with full gain would be a horrible tone and uncontrollable feedback.

  • @YourMyDinner

I'm going to buy a Valveking 212 next week. I'm going to use ot with an EHX MEtal Muff. I have now a solton chorus line 100 amp, but at full gain it's still not metal enough.
