@monsterGAUZ You do have to realise that Pikes Peak is a highway for much of the year, and gravel is not the best surface for deterring accidents... the safety of the people who drive up the mountain every day is more important than the event, unfortunately.

@nuggetzor @nuggetzor I used to think that too. Now there is so much tarmac it doesn't make a huge difference to me since you can't walk from the start line to a good dirt corner. (I am on a crew so I have to be at the start before and after the race) I do think it will be good once the entire thing is paved because it will open the mountain up for new classes. We may never again see amazing classes like the championship sprinters, but we would hopefully get new classes like LeMans type cars.

I was just in Colorado this past weekend and went up to the Alpine center in Rocky Mountain National State Park. The dirt road to get up to the top was not big at all and even going 20 mph was scary. Looking out the window and staring down at a 5,000 foot drop at some points; at the top we were 12,000 feet up! I couldn't imagine flying up that road at 50 mph! I would have lost my mind! This guy is a champ!

I have a 997 cup and I could under the right circumstances. You have obviously never driven one. I said I do not have any comments on the dirt, but on the tarmac I do since I have raced them for years. Probably a new car or may be the first times with the sequential gearbox. Definitely not a very good example of driving (just look at AMLS or any other series). In any case, commenting without even knowing what you are talking about, is cheap and stupid.

@sgmentalist It is the factory cup spec sequential gearbox. It does not blip the throttle on down shifts so you get that noise as the engine speed and gearbox are forced together! It is not very smooth in the car trust me.
