@mcculloch172 I know that's how the rural world works. I was merely pointing out the fact that if Shreve wants Charlie to remain alive, a chain is sometimes necessary to keep him safe since people were ridiculing her for using one. If a coyote was attacking a member of my flock or one of my dogs I too would shoot it to protect my property. However, I don't advocate nor support shooting a coyote (or any predator/scavenger for that matter) that's not harming anything.
Coyotes are part of natures balance , Charlies family was murdered by humans, and it was a kind, compasionate human that saved his life. If Humans would just stop mucking up the balance of nature the world would be better off. I am so proud of her for having the love and courage to take on the responsibility of this life knowing how controversial it would be, and she has been rewarded ten-fold for it, with a love she will never be able to find anywhere else....except in Charlie, a Gift From God
I can understand that Coyotes CAN do damage to cattle, and population control IS necessary, but I'll be laughing when rats chew your house to the ground.
I hunt, and I would hunt Coyotes if needed, but it's narrow minded idiots like yourself that gives hunters that know about the environment and have a real understanding about animals and the way they live a bad rap.
My family used to have a huge black shepherd that used to do the same thing with pinecones.
It was so cute!
And thank-you for posting these videos. I don't subscribe to the DC, and watching Charlie on video reminds me just how amazing all animals are, especially the ones people would rather have killed off.

I do know where Shreve lives, and that some people shoot coyotes there. I still think that Charlie, and only Charlie, should be the master of his destiny. He'll want to mate, and live with a mate, if he has normal instincts. He may choose to stay with Shreve, who obviously loves him, but the choice should always be his, which means, no tie-up. I am also just a bit concerned that Charlie is becoming a business and, that's a bit sad too.
If "Charlie, and only Charlie" should be the master of his destiny, what would you do about the boneheads who would shoot him on sight (and therefore alter Charlie's destiny without his "permission")? Would you need to go to Wyoming and start trying to control them as well?
Lighten up. Comments like yours we've gotten used to on the Daily C, but they're predictable and tiresome. Leave the girl alone.
Shreve, the DC brightens my day every morning. A thousand blessings to you, C, E, and MC.

What you have done with Charlie, and he has done with you, is beautiful. I use the weekly pic as a desktop But I am VERY SAD to see this video. I had no idea, at all, that you ever tie Charlie up. To see this beautiful, half wild animal, tied by the neck; I kind of find it heartbreaking, compared to the relationship that I had imagined you had. I still love Charlie and his story, but honestly from the heart I think Charlie should ALWAYS be free to be just himself, whereever that takes him.
Do you even know the area that she lives in? They shoot coyotes there without a second thought. Without a leash or Shreve being with him he runs the risk of being shot and killed! I'd rather see him chained near the house than dead.
To Shreve: I wish I had the carefree attitude of Charlie. I love the way he plays. So cat like.
I normally do not like to see animals on a chain. But with the circumstances it is needed to keep Charlie safe. This may sound negative to most people. But it might be better for Charlie and Shreve to somehow have Charlie neutered. It might help keep him closer and safer. And coyotoes are not endangered so neutering one would not affect their numbers.
@figgie01 whats wrong with shooting a yote with out a second thought. thats how the rural world works. coyotes kill livestock us rednecks kill them that is the circle of life deal with it
@figgie01 My friend got an orange dog vest for his coyote Bruno. He lived a long life probably because of that. Actually i see you live in Wyoming too! Beautiful animal..
Thanks again for inviting us into another day in the life of Charlie & Eli! It helps make the day brighter after running into idiots like one on here who thinks he is so funny by posting something negative to a video that is more positive & beautiful than anything else we are likely to see anywhere.
Charlie is as beautiful as always. For some reason I feel like I must apologize for the inevitable uninformed comments you will get here. But it's YouTube so what can you do.
Great video, Charlie is so cute! Have you considered putting a swivel-hook on his rope? Much less tangle-y, he can run around without the lead getting as wound up.
Thank you, Shreve. I love to see the videos of Charlie :-D He's a clever boy! I love the way he tosses his 'toy' up in the air! (What is it, by the way?)
IS HE STILL ALIVE. ? LOVE COYOTES.

Charlie looks bored.
Ever think of dousing yourself with barbeque sauce and going for a jog with her right behind you?

God It would be so cool to have one of those as a pet. Or at least one that you feed regularly and it lets you pet it.
