  • Excellent video! Repentance of sins is not a requirement for salvation.

  • Good true video

  • When Jesus says "Repent and believe" it means repent of unbelief. Unbelief is the only Sin, with a big S. Little s sins are just symptoms.

  • "That one false doctrine has sent more people to hell ..." Very well said. Repentance is not even mentioned in the gospel of John!! False preachers around the world need to first get saved by trusting Jesus, and then STOP the LS heresy. God bless.

  • why are u guys arguing over salvation.the bible by itself will save know one.salvaSION is personal us and god individuly. no one can tell someone weather their saved or not.that is between them and god

  • 1John1:6 "If we say we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;"

1John2:4 "The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him"

Although repentance of sin is not necessary for salvation (which is by the grace of God), it is the natural consequence of a heart changed by God.

    Faith = Repentance.

This preacher is wrong to say we needn't repent in order to be saved.

  • @Infidelrf

    Well said!

This teaching is the result of softening the gospel so as not to offend anyone.

The true gospel is impossible for any man to "accept" on his own, outside of a divine work of God in their heart.

Unfortunately, too many pastors are more concerned with making the goats feel comfortable instead of confronting them with the truth of God's word.

In John ch. 10 Jesus refers to them as hirelings.

  • Repentance is no more a work than faith is, they are both gifts from God.

    Acts 11:18

"And when they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life."

(Notice how repentance is linked to salvation)

    Eph. 2:8-9

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."

  • "Show me in the gospel of John the word 'repent' ."

You won't find the word trinity either. Do you deny the trinity?

  • "Show me in the bible where the word 'repent' was used in leading anyone to Christ."

    Try this one . . .

    Mark 1:14-15

"Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.' "

  • @Bill244888 That's the same tired verse everyone who preaches "turning from sin" uses. I'm sick of having to tell people the obvious meaning of that verse. Since repent means to rethink or change your mind, Jesus simply said to rethink and believe the gospel. I see that you're using a translation of the Bible other than the King James. Your corrupt version took out all the times God repented. If repenting means turning from sin, why would God repent? But again, that's not in your false Bible.

  • @Chainsmoke2

I think it's a bit deeper than changing our minds

    Romans 6:1-4

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. We who died to sin, how shall we any longer live therein? Or are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him through baptism unto death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life."

  • @Bill244888 Paul said if we continue in sin, grace will abound. He admonishes us not to do that, because we are no longer slaves to sin. But if we do sin, grace will abound. Here's another verse from Paul: Galatians 2:21. "I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain." Please stop adding to the gospel. There's no reason to complicate it. It requires child-like faith, and that's because God WANTS people to get saved, not make it difficult.

  • @Chainsmoke2

Why have you turned the gospel into something man must "do"?

Both faith (Eph. 2:8) and repentance (Acts 11:18, 2 Tim. 2:25) are gifts from God.

The gospel is not an instruction manual for man to obtain salvation, but rather the mechanism that the Holy Spirit uses to bring about the new birth in spiritually dead men.

God doesn't just WANT people to get saved, He saves them. Salvation from beginning to end is a work wholly of God alone.

  • @Bill244888 I've not turned the gospel into something man must do. It's as simple as believing it to be true. For me to turn it into something one must do, I would say man must earn his way, which I never said. Faith and repentance are basically the same thing.

  • @Chainsmoke2 Repent literally means to "change your mind", but the implications are so much more than that.

Heb 11:1 clearly points to faith being the major factor in salvation on our part.

Why would God repent, you ask?

Numbers 23:19 could not be more clear: “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent......"

A misinterpretation/translation is taking place when people claim God repents the same as man, and being used to promote bad theology.

  • @Infidelrf I'm not saying God repents the same as man. God changed His mind at times, and it was translated as repenting. Man was told to repent from unbelief. Yes, repentance is necessary for salvation as long as the word is understood. If you don't believe, you have to repent of the unbelief. But many times people were simply told to believe on Christ, with no mention of repentance, since they essentially mean the same thing.

  • @Chainsmoke2 I think we're agreeing on the same thing, just saying it differently. During a live conversation we would resolve this issue amongst ourselves quickly, but in little captions it can take a while to realize we're in agreement!

I don't believe that God changes His mind, though.

I'm still studying this one, but scripture would suggest that God is unchangeable in all ways.

  • @Chainsmoke2 Here's a site I found that addresses the question (and others):

    Check out the "gotquestions" website.

Just enter this question into the search box "does God repent"

  • @Infidelrf That is a good website. I have referred to that a number of times.

  • Excellent...I will add this to my playlist: REPENTANCE DEFINED.

  • AMEN!

People need to get the definition of a word form the Bible and not from the new age false teachers.

  • Acts 2:38 Each of you must REPENT and turn from your sins and turn to God and be baptized

  • @3RiCka22208

The KJV bible is correct when it says "...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Repent of course meaning to change form non belief to believing on Jesus for salvation. :-)

Repent can NOT mean turn from sin. If it did, then GOD himself must be able to sin, since God repented over 50 times in the Bible!!!

  • It's heartening to see more and more of such messages exposing the heresy of "Repentance from Sins". Churches today need to have bible-centred teachings rather than the teachings of traditions. In my past, under such heretical guides around me, I found it painfully impossible to repent from my sins. This led me to actually search for the actual meaning of 'Repentance'. I was overjoyed when I found it!

The voice in this message was unclear at times, though.

  • no one can serve to masters. so we know that we are that we are serving God or satan 1st commandment, no other gods (it can be in the way of money, power, fame, fortune) Jesus said in Luke 13: 3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Mark 1:14Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

  • And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a women with lust you have committed adultery with here in your heart? If God judges u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

  • It was the first thing Jesus preached!!! Are you serious. This heretic is teaching lawlessness!!!!!!!!!!! You guys should repent from following this wolf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ezekial 18:23-31 Romans 2:4 Acts 17:30 Revelations 3:3 Luke 13:3 Matthew 4:7 Acts 2:38 2 Peter 3:9 Matthew 3:1-2 Matthew 3:8 Luke 24:46-47 Acts 11:18 Repent!
  • How does someone get saved?

Also when and how are christian(s) allowed to be and express anger?

Does up above's answer contradict Matthew 5: 42-48, Romans 12 about avenge/revenge not?

  • at 0:54 he mistook paul for peter-read acts 8

  • i agree that is not a requirement to stop sinning in order to be saved, but repent doesnt mean to stop,it means to have a change of mind.can a sinner be saved if he doesnt change his mind about his sin?

  • Read Phillipians 3; Paul had to count ALL his righteous acts as a Pharisee "DUNG" in order to be saved! Repenting and doing good works for SALVATION is JUST AS WRONG--IT IS DUNG!!

(Phil. 3:9) "And be found in HIM NOT HAVING MINE OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is of the LAW, but that which is through the faith of Jesus Christ, the righteousness which is OF GOD BY FAITH." When you "repent" (change your mind) and believe this, then you can be saved!

  • Jesus did all the WORK on Calvary needed to save your soul. It is by His Grace and not of your works. No real changes of works can ever happen until one is "born again" by the Spirit of God through FAITH in Jesus Christ alone! If you must "turn from your sins" to be saved--THEN YOU MUST STOP DOING THEM! That is the only way to "turn from a sin". Only arrogant lordship salvationist THINK they have arrived! (1 John 1:8-10) God says differently! GRACE ALONE, GRACE ALONE, GRACE ALONE!

  • Some of your false teachers need to hear God's Words. STOP CHANGING THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD "REPENT" in the BIBLE! Grace stealers are robbers of God's Words! Changing the TURTH of God into a LIE by making "repent" mean to "STOP SINNING"! You liars and definition changers need to CHANGE YOUR MINDS for "taking away from the Word of God". There is a curse involved here (Rev. 22:19) If God repented, and HE DID! You "repenters of sins" for salvation are in DEEP TROUBLE! CAUSE GOD IS NO SINNER!

  • At SALVATION you MUST repent of your "DEAD WORKS" (Heb. 6:1 & 9:14). You must "change your mind" and accept as fact that NO human works whether GOOD or BAD have ANYTHING to do with you going to Heaven. If you do NOT believe this you are NOT SAVED! Jesus said, "I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE, NO MAN cometh unto the father BUT BY ME!" (John 14:6) You who think you have "repented" of your sins as part of your SALVATION are deceived. How can a lost sinner "STOP SINNING" to be saved? Forget it!

  • This guy was from Hyles -Anderson, he is now deceased. Let me tell you what this teaching produces: In 1980 Hyles Anderson had 7500 members in their church, From 1980 to 1990, Hyles Anderson saw 10,000 professions a year. Anyone want to guess what their membership was in 1990? 7500 Some keep spreading this easy-believism garbage and keep packing the pews of HELL, there is a judgment seat and if you are even saved you will answer for this heresy.

  • You don't know two licks about the Bible, you can't even get the Gospel correct. You say that REPENTING is not part of being saved? and by doing it one is trying to get some GLORY for themselves? Any one with half the brain of a one-eyed jackass could cross reference the word REPENT or REPENTANCE through the Bible and see that it is the key to our relationship with God. Throughout the whole bible MAN is trying to be in control, You can't believe unless you turn, we have a will. You a Calvinist?

  • This man has first and foremost eliminated the sovereignty of God from salvation. Jesus said that no man can come to him unless the Father were to draw him (John 6:44) or if any did come it was because it was "given them of the Father" (John 6:65). Jesus indicated all throughout John 17 that those who came to him were "given" to Him by the Father. Acts 16, God first "opened the heart" of Lydia so she could be saved. Repentance is not "works" because it is sovereignly granted by God.

  • @ricklcowan you would agree that turned from their evil way and repenting from sin is the same thing right. according to you turning from your evil way or "Repenting of your sins" is not works but according to the word of God it is works. Jonah 3:10 And God saw their WORKS, that they TURNED FROM THERE EVIL WAYS; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

  • Believe? Yes believe! Believe the gospel! That Christ died for our sins, rose from the dead and now is exalted as Lord and Christ. We must believe and the natural outworking of that belief is exactly what God has prescribed.. repentance toward Him and confession of Christ as Lord. (Acts 20:21, Php 2:9-11). This belief, far from sending people to hell, is the only way to avoid hell. Repentance was the theme of Christ and the Apostles (Mark 1:15, Mark 6:12) and is a command from God (Acts 17:30)

  • If you tell people they can sit on their dumm button, and wait for it is AAAALLL GRACE, watch what happen... everyone is doing nothing... That is not wat God want from us That is what the devil wants from us. Do nothing, there is nothing you can do... But God wants a relationship with us. And in a relation there is action. God ask us to move, to repent, to re-act, to answer His love, etc etc. DO SOMETHING!! STOP SINNING DO WHAT GOD WANTS YOU TO DO!! and the devil will hate that!!

  • Don Boyd either you are a false convert OR you are a heathen that is working for satan promoting "easy believism" to send more souls to eternal damnation. Either way you're going to hell.

  • Is this guy serious.Repent is a milatary term meaning "about face".....

  • @picassoui Good answer.

  • Its your typical Hyles Anderson preaching. Weak as ever! Birds of a feather, flock together.

  • outsj Dr Don Boyd, you lie!!

MK 1vs 15 ...And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT YE, and believe the gospel.

WHAT KIND OF GLASSES YOU WEARING WHEN YOU READ THE BIBLE??

  • @LeMagdalin repent ye, means to "change your mind," which in this context was to Judaizers. Naturally turning and believing in Jesus for your salvation, not works.

  • @TOEMAS777 I say this man is a LIAR! He said the word repent is not found in the bible. You see? a LIE! it is in the bible, whether of you believe that that is written for Judaizers and not written for you, or some else. Its not that repentance make you a Child of God, When the Spirit of God is working in your life, you see repentance as an evidence. Repentence (mind changing) is a proof that God is working in your life. Its not a way to get into heaven.

  • Isaiah 1 vs 16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. relieve: or, righten18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

  • o Isaiah 55 vs 7 tells this 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

What does this mean?? exacty REPENTANCE!!

    This man is a liar.

He had a point Its Gods work to save you. that is why repentance is no salvation Isaiah 1 explains it. God tell the people to repent/ turn back to God, AND THEN He says THEN I will make you clean as snow. read it

  • OOO NO!!! this person must read the bible.

If you are an reborn Christian, then God wil guide you and the Holy Spirit wil CONVINCE YOU of sin!!! and with which intention? EXACTLY that you REPENT!!! from sin. There is no unrightious man who enter the kingdom, and neigther an ungodly man. BUT when they repent!!!! God will have mercy. Isaiah 55 vrs 7

  • Bible says repent 20 times and repentance 23 times in the New Testament. Yes, ye are saved by Grace, not by works. But without repentance there is no remission of sins and without remission, there is no salvation. Putting our faith in Christ gives us salvation, but an unrepentant heart seeks destruction.

    Luke 5:32

32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

    (KJV)

    2 Pet 3:9

9 ... not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

    (NKJ)

  • @mpfiffner22 have you confessed and asked for forgiveness for every sin you've committed, since you've been a christian. I know i havent. God punnished Christ for our past, present and future sins. Heb. 10: 14 For by a SINGLE offering He has FOREVER completely Cleansed and PERFECTED those who are consecrated and MADE holy.

  • Has this fool never read the bible? Matthew 3:2 says it all

  • what yall think about the street preachers. are they sent by the devil or what?

  • Good video!

  • Luke 13:3,5

Repentance is part of the salvation process in the context of realizing that we are sinners and understanding the need to do better.

But, he is correct in the fact that salvation is by faith and not by works. Many people are under the false assumption that if you don't completely turn from your sins that you are not saved.

  • @3161029 and that's true, if you continue in sin YOU ARE NOT SAVED, the bible says CLEARLY if you do not REPENT and TURN FROM SIN you will likewise perish, those are not my words that is the irrefutable word of God

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus Yeah, but it's still not so much about my "self", rather about the stain of Adam's sin and my own personal sin

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus Because of my "self" I need a saviour? Nah, I'm pretty sure it's because of my sin.

  • Amazing. Thanks so much for posting. I never see videos on this ever on here. Thank you again.

    ------------------------------

    Romans 4:4-5

Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

  • Great video!

Turning from your sins = WORKS

Jon 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

In order to be saved, the only "repentance" needed is a change in what you BELIEVE:

Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

  • Jam 2:17 KJV - Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Jam 2:18 KJV - Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Jam 2:19 KJV - Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Jam 2:20 KJV - But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

  • Luk 24:47 KJV - And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Act 2:38 KJV - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • When I repent I turn from __________ to Christ. I release that because of my ______ I need a saviour.

Please fill in the blanks. "Sin" fits rather well there...

  • @DarthMambo

Wrong! You're little fill in the blank thing is not part of the bible. You just made it up. If you are going to propose an argument for your doctrine you MUST you bible!!

  • @dramos1611 So I don't turn from sin to Christ? Yes or no? I don't realize that because of my sin I need a saviour? Yes or no?

To repent and believe in the Gospel are not two different things or in some way only juxtaposed, but express the same reality. Repentance is the total "yes" of those who consign their whole life to the Gospel responding freely to Christ who first offers himself. "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the Gospel" (Mk 1: 15)."

  • @DarthMambo

If you want to find a biblical definition of repentance then look up the word repent in the Bible and find out WHO does the most repenting. Then find out if that person is capable of sinning or not. See what you was doing when he repented. Look it up.

  • @dramos1611 *What he was doing when he repented

  • @dramos1611 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left. HEBREWS 10:26 If that isn't repentance then what is, sir? MATTHEW 7:21 makes it clear that not everyone that believes in Jesus will go to heaven only that do the will of the father. REPENT!!!

  • @dramos1611 You're arguing that because the Bible says that God "repented" it can't have anything to do with sin?

God is often spoken of in anthropomorphic terms, but you can't take these literalistically. If you do this you would conclude God has an actual hand (Ex 3:20 ), actually grieves (Gen 6:5–6) and actually changes his mind (Num 16:20–35). This language is a "condescension" - an attempt to expression divine realities in human terms.

You believe God is immutable, right?

  • @dramos1611 Also, does it mean the same thing when we speak of God "blessing" us and of believers "blessing" God? It's the same word, but it carries different meanings...

  • @DarthMambo Mk1:15 may I ask you what gospel was Jesus referring? Christ had not yet died neither ressurected, there was no grace gospel yet given to those who believed. The disciples had not yet even understood that Christ would die. John preached repentance to Jews under law for works of repentance, and the seventy sent out preached the gospel, Jesus the Messiah has arrived but neither preached the cross and resurrection. Jesus Himself did not preach the gospel of the Church age

  • @polopowers1 you are wrong.the gospel was the same all through out history.the only change was what God required us to understan about it.salvation was always by grace alone thru faith alone.read Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Rom 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin-also read heb chpt10-12

  • @prewrathrapture333 Show me in the gospels where I'm wrong not after the gospels. Did the disciples preach the cross.? show me where. They did not even understand He would die. How can you preach a death you don't believe in.? It is true only one gospel saves but John the baptist preached the coming of Messiah. Christ preached I'm here; prepare the kingdom way. And after He died the gospel of death and resurrection by justification.

  • @polopowers1 the answer to ur question is already in my 1st comment to u.if u dont understand,im not going to argue.

  • @DarthMambo

    Works do also.

  • @DarthMambo, and when the Savior speaks of your salvation he speaks of BELIEVING.....by the way, when you repent you change your mind, that's all.

  • @DarthMambo sin would fit the second blank. the first one is unbelief

  • I have such a hard time with this repentance verses 'easy believism' thing. Growing up, I never realized but now i see it seems there are two gospels being preached...

  • @Conail23

One is of the Anti Christ. That is the one you hear here.

  • There really is nothing wrong with saying "repent of your sin" as long as you have the proper definition of repent. Not everyone that says repent of your sins to be saved is preaching works salvation. Just, most of them are. It's far better to use repentance OF sins then to say one must repent FROM sins to be saved.

  • @bibleword Then please give us a definition of "repent". How did you reach this definition?

  • @DarthMambo

Repentance from sins is works salvation. Turning to sin is bad works, turning from sin is good works. "Not of works lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:9). We turn from sins because we are saved, not to get saved. Repentance OF sins is realizing and changing your mind from being in denial about your sins to knowing it is sin and thus, turning to Christ to save you from sin.

  • @bibleword Eph 2 is talking about works of the Law, but that aside, I still don't understand your point.Do you agree with this:

"To repent and believe in the Gospel are not two different things or in some way only juxtaposed, but express the same reality. Repentance is the total "yes" of those who consign their whole life to the Gospel responding freely to Christ who first offers himself. 'The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the Gospel' (Mk 1: 15).""

  • What about no spaces w w w . b i b l e g a t e w a y . c o m / k e y w o r d

search repent. Do they mean repent of sin?

  • @Fira777

Search for the phrase "repent of your sin" and you will not find it on biblegateway. You won't find it any search. Now, you will find "repent of dead works" which is referring to useless works that no man can get to Heaven with.
