Absolutely. It's full of incidental music and dramatic pauses nowadays.. that is/was never what The Bill was about.

The Bill was always about telling a good story in a no-frills style. Sadly, style over substance has taken over TV these days, and it's all about flashy (but dreadful) production techniques, music, action, stunts etc. taking precende over good storytelling. Maybe we should be thankful The Bill escaped this for as long as at did.
