  • With firewood that thin, who needs paper to start a fire? ;+)

Great saw! I have one myself. And yes, it is cutting properly. You all need to consider different tree hardness' by species, plus some trees are harder than others of the same species. A lot of factors in how hard a tree is, and the harder it is, the harder it is to cut. Not all are going to cut like white pine... apparently some of you have never cut on a hickory, maple, or oak.

  • im sorry i dont think your one not worked paying theprice . sharpen then upgrade

  • why you cuting your firewood so thin

  • Oregon chains are fine, Husqvarna blades too.

  • good to see that you have protective gear on but I wonder why you are cutting soooo CLOSE to the trailer, risking hitting it with the bar/chain???

  • dont worrie mate ,its an optical illusion. i was a good 10" or more away so i felt ok about it. thanks for the thumbs up on the PPE.

  • that sombich is loud! put nitro in the tank to really go fast!

  • OMG the comment left on this video are killing me LMFAO buncha arm chair loggers and tree surgeons in here.

  • This bar and chain are to big for this chain you should use 16" bar and oregon or husqvarna chains, stihl chains are not so good

  • oregon is the best

  • lol wow never in my life have i heard that its always the opposite if i could afford it would always buy stihl chain more pricier but you get hwat you pay for.

  • they are a good little saw but i wouldent put more than a 20" bar&chain on it. the 372 is what you would want for that size bar&chain.

  • needs a sharpen

  • the chain was NEW out of the box. it does not need to be sharpened. you clearly know nothing about saws.

  • you clearly know bugger all about saws either, i have 2 455ranchers one with a 15" bar the other with a 13" bar and they would smoke that shit. the chain in blunt or the rackers need taking down, your forcing the saw to try and cut which obviously it aint happening, if your saw was sharp the weight of the saw would pull into the woods and thus cut faster!

  • smaller bar the saw would turn up faster and would cut a lot faster so clearly you dont know anything about saws.

  • of course not, considering i'm a fully qualified tree surgeon with all my certificates and have been using chainsaws for more than 10 years.

  • finaly some1 with sum $ents

  • if u did'nt notice it was beech one of the the hardest woods

  • Some chains are junk right out of the box, many have anti kickback rakers that doesnt allow the teeth to bite properly = poorer saw performance for less liability concerns. I own the 460 and use a 24" bar and I promise you it will move through that 8-10" stuff you are cutting there. You do have chain issues, probably in the rakers. Do'nt get offended, just get a raker guage and your life will be much easier.

  • im not offended. if anybody should be its stihl and it was their best chain. anybody ever think the wood is very tough? i guess your all internet experts from watching a video?

  • No espert here from watching a video. All I cut is oak, hickory, locust, and bodark and my comment was based on how my saw does in those woods. If you're cutting harder wood than I, hats off to you. I used my saw in comparison because while I'm using a 24" and you a 20" bar we should near equal on power.

  • get chain without rakers and more cutters and put the nay sayers out to the pasture nice saw and vid

  • @iwantastihl boy u sound like a complete moron

  • husqy is a real mans saw

  • 24" chain on a 455 is to big i know it says will support max 24" but its a 56cc Saw

  • i used the 3 Series and 4 and 5 and the new Husqvarna Saws have alot more Power because of X-Torq i log and cut trees with the 570, the have re made the 570 with a dif engine type , give it time the 455 with a sharp chain is very good for cutting fire wood and clearing but i would not use it to log big trees , i own the 455 and the 570

  • I'm a logger also and we switched to all stihls on the crew do to the new huskys we were't even getting a year out of we have 3 361ms's and wow they are a nice saw easy to work on and a pound lighter than even the rancher plus hold more gas I like how fast husky are but they don't hold up like they used to.

  • I'm a logger in the north west territory and we only use Stihl. husky makes a good saw though..Way to buck safely.

  • Does look like it could do with a sharpen.

  • why?

  • Maybe you're being a big gentle pushing down but it looks like it's taking a rather long time and the sawdust seems pretty fine. Plenty of variables like cutter type and wood being cut but personally I'd expect it to cut quicker and more aggressively.

  • Sharpen that saw. yes it is a 24 inch bar on that thing. Husqvarna ROCKS... i like stihl too

  • Is that the 24 inch bar on it?

  • Chainsaws like all power equipment have a handful of reliable dominant brand names, BUT when it comes down to the "best" its all in personal preference. I am a Shindaiwa dealer and run a small engine repair shop in VA and I love the line of saws. Don't be confused, they don't really appeal to the loggers, but to arborists and home owners alike. I own a 357, 488 & 757, I find them to be almost unbeatable in reliability, life and performance. Again back to my point, thats personal preference.

  • i'm a logger, and i prefer husky, i'd use a stihl if i had to, but id rather use a husky

  • @ultima4200 Could you please explain how to do a back slip?

  • miss my 455 damn nice saw if u ask me what do u think?

  • if you lock in the spikes it would of cut faster

  • my husky 455 would slice through each cut in about 2.5 secounds with a new chain

  • your saw would have cut no faster. i cut this wood with many saws and it is very tough, not like the balsawood you cut.

    :)

  • the wood i cut is oak, greenwoos, saltwood, ceder, lightwood, pine what is balsawood?

  • either the chain is dull or he is not applying enough force or their is no oil or the oil bolt is not set right

  • the saw was cutting just fine, notice the size of the chips and no sawdust.

  • the big oak logs on the trailer did you cut them with the 455?how long did it take?

  • yes, not that long. it cut thru nice.

  • sharp your chain haha....i know what's the problem.....he must to buy a stihl

  • ask any logger husky is the dominant brand my uncle saw a logger run overcwith a tractor a stihl busted all to pieces ran over a husky handele bar bent just a little

  • look i work in a chain saw service so stop talking about how better is husky than stihl

  • it is

  • I was a logger in my youth. I started off with Husky and Johnsered then tried Stihl and have stayed with them since. In my area there is a much higher ratio of Stihl to Husky. Husky is good, but I prefer the ease of use of a Stihl. kalob35, was one saw plastic while the other was magnesium alloy? The mag alloy is lighter, but less giving than plastic. There is nothing wrong with plastic, though; it's just a few ounces heavier.

  • i like stihl now!

  • sharpen that chain

  • chain was plenty sharp. throwin' mass chips.

    try again!
