This how I play FIFA...patient buildup, dragging opposition players out of position and working your way up the pitch waiting for the killer ball to present itself.
That being said, I can't defend for shit on FIFA12
It was a great goal, but Carlos Alberto's goal in the final match of Mexico 1970 was better. Brazil didn't need 25 passes to find the opposite goal - only 3-4. :-)
@Ramaz1969 c'mon this is much better, brazil's goal takes ages for every pass, pele could wait drink a coffee and then pass, italians seem like puppets. argentina's goal is faster with a full defense, with a back heel pass. . for the pace, movement and the definition this is better imho.do you play football? :) this is art
@sordijdezify IMO Mexico touches and passes with italy was amazing to set up a goal, the second goal they scored it was beautiful futbol by the Mexicans stfu I'm not even hating on Argentina....ha you clearly aren't a fan of futbol your probably a fan of "soccer"
@12Aggiefan no chance.. brazil were huge..i mean huge favorites that year.. nobody had picked anyone other brazil... no expert anywhere.. i very distinctly remember that.. That brazil team was the best team to have not won..kaka and ronaldinho at the peak of their game..then you had ronaldo, juninho, gilberto, robinho, adriano....man... 2005 confed cup champs.. ahhh.. it was sad to see them lose against france.. zidane beat them single-handedly... what a player he was.
@ambuj1991 They actually never really impressed at any given point in the competition, you know. Unimpressive wins against Croatia and Australia, a lucky win against Ghana, and once they came up against a top class team they were shattered.
@Angarwaen yes, that is completely true. But before the tournament and the 4 years prior to that, they were the best team, and the favorites to win..they had the best players, were the best team, and were the outright 'favorites' to win.. and that is the point i was trying to make...one mroe thing i do remember is the game against japan.. they had like 20 odd shots and won 4-1.. that was domination..not great opposition but that was the real brazil, which sadly has not been seen since..
@ambuj1991 Yeah, I get your point. The Japan match was one of the last Brazil matches that was actually fun to watch. A year later they won the Copa América against a brilliant Argentina by featuring a totally un-Brazilian like team. I mean, they were actually fielding THREE defensive midfielders, two extremely physical centre-backs, two totally ungraceful forwards...And Julio Baptista as the n°10. Julio Baptista, ffs, the guy approaches football with the grace and beauty of a bowling ball.
@eselalito no he isn't, riquelme is old, they don't need riquelme to play like this, argentina needs work in defense and miedield, pastore is good miedfielder.
But his point is that Argentina needs more experienced players. Nothing against the young players, but you saw what happened at the Copa America. Look at the 2006 team. They freakin look like Spain out there when they pass it. And look at the adept level of communication! But you are right about the midfield. WTF happened to the midfield, it is just shit. We have Mascherano, Cambiasso, and Zanetti! They need to get it right!
@szetotakwa oh I see, I didn't notice you left a smile at the end of your sentence. Well, I would avoid to play "word game", no matter that guy's grammar or structure was right or wrong as long as we understand what he was talking about.
all of you are stupid the dutch invented this type of football and johan cruyff brought it to barcelona and many other countries and clubs started copying this style.
This isn't "Tiki-Taka", this is just ball passing. Tiki Taka makes run-passes up the field, while Argentina just passed the ball to dazzle the defense and keep them stationary then capitalize.
@ShiningNow It isn't the same, if you check it out this Pekerman's team (he's a genious, our best coach ever) passes always looking to go forward, it isn't the same with yesterday's goal. That was a team resting which found an open space by chance. Not the same.
@TheShadowMadness I personally don't. I'm Argentine but I have to admit Serbia aswell as Jugoslavia has always produced great players and great results. This was a one off, Argentina just played out of this world in this game, the funny thing is, Serbia didn't play too bad. I remember at 3 - 0 there was a moment where they slowly crept back into this game, but the sending off killed off all hope. I remember thinking before a ball weas kicked that this would be Argentina's toughest game.
@bronkoghma Yeah I already knew that so what's your point? I did say Serbia AS WELL AS Jugoslavia didn't I? I believe I was clear enough when I made this distinction. All the former Juoslav nations have always produced quality players.
@tataso really? they're not even the best in south america. what about brazil, spain, england, germany, holland, italy, portugal, italy, france, etc...they're somewhere in there definitely, but not the best in the world.
@tataso this doesn't really help, i can't read argentinian writing. i'm guessing it's the amount of times they have beaten each other. i just researched one you didn't (obviously too afraid to admit the answer):
Arg. is Top 3 FIFA ranking (since 1993) overall;Portugal overall ranking is 12 and Spain 4.
Spain is today's champion and (altough Hungary's run's debatable) recently had the longest undefeated run in history but outside the 2010 WC in South Africa Spain's major achievement in World Cups was a Fourth Place in 1950
The overall IFFHS rank since 1970s of those you mentioned minus Spain/Portugal goes as follows:
It's funny how young players today think that scoring a goal is all about doing fancy dancy tricks and going all "hero of the day" solo runs to the goal only to be humiliated by a defender. This should be shown to kids to teach them how football can be simple, but beautiful and effective.
By simple, I mean that every single player goes for the easiest, obvious pass, every time.
No 60 yard hopeful passes, no attempted trick that goes wrong, just probing away and biding their time, playing the simple pass and waiting.
You could argue that the litltle one-two feauturing riquelme isn't the simplest, but it is for him!! and you get my point.....
