This IS a metal band, but the sole purpose it seems is to release the aggression inside of many of todays youth rather than to have greater meaning..

I respect your rebuttal but disagree. Commercialism stems from greed and a popularized copied forte. Slipknot has always felt that the point of their shows, of their lyrcs, etc. was to help both youth and people with any distress. They have not sold out because as Paul Gray put it: "If we make something more melodic, it's because that's what we wanted to do, which is what we've always done. Therefor, fuck everyone else." Slipknot sounds like no one else, which would represent commercialism
