  • Wow, you fundamentalists are frightening (all those bombers were fundamentalists too). Imagine you're going out for a special night, looking great. Because of that, someone punches you, and punches and punches and punches. The next day you're black and blue and in hideous pain. But it doesn't stop. For nine months they keep punching you. The bruises never heal, for years. But yay, a baby!

How incredibly cruel. You should be ashamed. What is wrong with people?

  • @vadimzeland She is sharing a part of her life, an experience that has changed her. Watch her 20/20 interview and learn you idiot.

  • I'm mostly amazed that when viewing this particular video some executive in charge of the Big Red chewing gum division said, "ooh, this song and these particular views should have a great appeal to our customers."

  • How can any of you say what is wrong when it comes to an abortion? What, do you think any woman enjoys getting an invasive medical procedure? I think it's selfish of people to judge a young woman's decision to get an abortion in cases of rape, especially when they tend to be underdeveloped, going through school, and aren't emotionally prepared to raise a child. To say that the impregnation as a result of rate is "gods plan" is also most fucked up thing I've ever heard.

  • I adore Ms. Amos but she is not correct.; even in the situation of rape abortion is not justified. The child may be of the rapist's seed but hardly justifies inhibiting the child's life. Abortion is a selfish act regardless of how it is viewed. If the mother's life is in jeapordy, it may serve as a cure and be the wisest choice but applying it as a barbaric birth control is unjust.

  • @Ds771737

yes abortion is not justified in any way the baby did nothing wrong. but think of it this way you had no choice to get raped but it should be your choice to keep the baby to term and then give it up or keep it or if you cant handle that. you should be able to have a abortion. but you should not be able to have an abortion just because you want to. but every life should be valued but this is not a perfect world is it.

  • @neakblue One would be a little niave to say that rape is the only situation abortion is used. I cannot grasp the distress rape would bring, yet abortion still isnt the answer. It is selfish to not sacrifice 9 months. The child is not a reflection of his/her father and should not be the scapegoat for the mother's frustration.

  • It is not a issue of control. Life (even a life in a columbian sewer) is to be valued. If I were to determine a question of life or death (Even if the life is considered less than desirable by some) I would choose life. The disgust of life is seen by everyone and unfortunately more see it than others. This does not make their experience something beautiful.

  • interesting, there was no praise given. none, to anyone. You see what you intend to see, hear what you intend to hear, and no voice or sight will intrude into that. How sad Naughtygoodgurl.

  • "Me and a Gun." was my Thelma & Louise.

  • I was being sarcastic towards librarianscale's comment. Relax.

  • Yeah she gives praise to women who murder their INNOCENT unborn children. what a brave things to do! Pathetic!

  • When exactly does she praise that? It just shows that you don't understand her argument. Go help some orphans if you really care.

  • @Naughtygoodgurl5000 I think any woman who has an abortion should be given a medal, you stupid shit.

  • I COULD NOT LOVE HER MORE. TORI IS SO FIERCELY INTELLIGENT <3 AND TALENTED x x

  • i love what she says about abortion . that its not about the children its such a beautiful simple point . shes such a impressive brave woman to go through something awful and life threatening and turn it into something beautiful and to have the strenght to talk about it and help other woman with her charity work . shes so talented . <3

  • never saw it like that... it's the most valid point of view on the issue i've heard

  • this is fantastic,thanx

  • Story of a Rape Survivor''

  • what would you say if you were a great star and have more than one interview every week and you went them to get this one message? would you tell something else because you dont want to repeat yourself? just think about that.

  • Tori's my favourite artist ever :) she's a brilliant composer and a very wise person :D

  • I love this woman's Views on life. I share them.

  • She's right. It's NOT about the CHILDREN.

NONE of you pro-life shits give two flying fucks about the CHILDREN. If you did, you'd take in a pregnant teen and help her with the child.

    BUT NONE OF YOU DO!

  • Tori Amos thank you for speaking up for women...for speaking for all the people in our world. Thank you for rising above, taking from the strength within.

  • Religious morons like you are the reason why there is so much hate and violence in the world. I'm sick of you self-righteous fuckwits.

  • uhhh, didn't she say that christianity had nothing to do with it???

  • Comment removed

  • "I dont hate Christians. I just have a problem with what they havent claimed - the dark side of Christianity."

"the concept of God, my concept of the creator, isnt male or just female. Just is the key word here. Its an energy. Its a force that doesnt exclude any kind of gender. You know, I think its so beyond gender. "

  • "I believe in the Great Spirit. I believe Mohammad exists; I believe in Buddha; I believe in Aphrodite; I believe in Rhiannon."

"[Mrs. Jesus is] very much, I guess you could say, one of those men that is probably more aware of women than a lot of women."

"I want to be someone with responsibility, someone who's conscious of what she does. If I hurt you, I get vulnerable myself. That's the way it works."

~~These are all direct quotes you can find in documented interviews on yessaid

  • I can relate to her songs too, although, I believe in a heavenly Father. I'm also going to write and complete my book about my Survival as a child too!

  • Not only do I find her songs beautiful, but I empathize with her in Me and a Gun - and Silent. Me and a Gun.. because I had a very similar experience to hers. It's so inspiring to see her standing up and saying something, and singing, and recovering from that. I love her - she's such a beautiful person, with a beautiful voice and a beautiful soul.

  • It is interesting to me that they have included in this clip her song of being raped and then her talking about abortion. There is a connection between them in that anti-abortionists want a woman to lose power over her own body, the same way that a rapist does. I love Tori, she is such an insightful person. She is not afraid to speak up, and when she does she has something intelligent and sensitive to say.

  • Pure genius

Belong to the universe of King Crimson, and Peter Gabriel and Neil Gaiman...

The fading dark magic of the world

the last of goodnes of the West

    Don´t fade, don´t leave

  • Right on Tori!! You go girl....

  • she's amazing

  • breaks my heart. I know how she feels when she sang this. I was raped when I was 9 and again when I was 17. I have suffered for years with the damage the people have done to me. Thank you tori. this song speaks to me.

  • @vadimzeland I'm beyond disappointed that you weren't aborted.

  • Comment removed

  • if i were her i would have killed myself to END you

  • I left a comment on how this song had no connection to being an abused child but actually it was about a woman being raped! I do not understand how it switched me to leaving the original comment! I love Tori and the way she expresses herself!!! my mom never wanted me dead and my dad never beat my mom!

  • Tori is an amazingly intelligent person and an incredible artist. In this clip, when she ends her speech on abortion issue, she says the brilliantly universal words that should appeal to everyone's reason and logic: "I refuse to play that game, because one has to analyze, one must look at what an issue is about..." How sad that there are actually few people in the world who dare to analyze deeper than superriciality. Tori proves she's one of the great minds in this world. :)

  • thank you - Tori's amazing and very clear...

  • This is one of the most powerful songs I have ever had the misfortune of understanding. I rips me to my core, yet it frees me in a way that all victims deserve. Rape is not about passion, or sex, or even lust--it is about pain and power and anger and abandonment and as a victim I refuse to allow it to consume me. This song speaks my soul and I am grateful to Tori for giving me the music to which I can both mourn and celebrate.

  • Not only is she a brilliant singer/songwriter, but also an incredibly intelligent and deep woman. Go Tori!

  • oh my God!!!

  • dude tori amos got raped dude that sucks

  • tori has an amazing point. There is so much that can be done but so little effort to do it.

  • I completely agree and she's right it's not about the children.

  • Dude, this is her personal account of her rape! Get a clue!

  • thank you! This is wonderful!

  • waoo thanks a lot! :-D

  • Thanks!
