I never said that is what he meant, it is the meaning that I take from the song. The war he is talking about is the fight over religious belief. That is why the song is called Belief. Who said that one video can stop a war? All wars can end when we learn how to coexist understanding that spirituality is a personal choice and that no one should be persecuted for what they believe. Those soldiers that are dying did not become soldiers with the thought that they wanted to go and kill innocent people. this song's about being tolerant. the genius of John Mayer is that anything that applies to conflict because of intolerance totally fits into this song. be it iraq or something more personal, he's just singing about the inevitable destruction that lies in big-headedness and not taking courteous consideration into people's differences. i think it applies best for religion though. peace and love, guys.

I love this video! You did a great job on making it. I know that my Uncle Shade just came back from Iraq. He is in the military, and has lost a lot of friends because of the war. But he told me that if we leave then Iran will attack Iraq. That's the reason that they are staying. Iran is also going to attack Isrial. That's why our troops haven't left yet.
