  • One of my favorite pieces of all time - amazing (and yes, still gives me goose bumps to this day)!!

  • @saraklaassen I know what you mean Sara. I never get tired of this one.

  • why were the first like 50 secs NOTHING?!?!?!

  • @vipshowhostnumberone my editing was pretty bad in those days.

  • not bad....but nowhere near golden gate quartets definitive version!

  • You guys did really good, I'm doing the same song but different version for my middle school choir. I don't mean to criticize, and this might just be my opinion, but I think you guys are moving way too much. Unless this was purposely done.. Then nevermind

  • @9angellove your supposed to move more in this song actually, thats why the bass' & tenors didn't have any power behind their voice. Watch Laguardia or Morgan State University... they have to move to keep mental note their place because each vocal has their own rhythm. Its an african spiritual so they should be pushing note a lil harder! Good observation tho!!!

  • Plano senior high school choir, breaking sound systems with awesome since 2008.

  • luv the harmonys

  • GREAT =)

  • 111

  • it was ok my school callaway did a great job singing it to though!!

  • absolutely excellent!!!!!

  • this versoin is awesome... i sang a diff version of this song last year!

  • Great job! Pros: Good sound, dynamics, and blending. Cons: not enough bass, and you went almost a full half step sharp by the end.

  • That's one white-ass choir.....

  • @ricwade77 i freakin agree theres like one or to people of color

  • BEST THING EVER 99.999zillion thumbs up

  • Well done!

  • posture, posture, posture....FAIL! :D

  • Holy Jericho

  • Yall can sing!

  • Okay I sang this song in my senior year of high school 96/97 and I loved it and you guys are awesome! You have done this quite justice...I love choral music and always have and have passed that love on to my daughter who is in the 6th grade...we quite are quite impresses with this musical offering...keep up the awesome work.

  • omw!!!!!this is absolutely amazing!!!well done peeps

  • I loved what you did with the piece awesome job!

  • awesome awesome awesome!!! sounded great! bets one i've seen yet!

  • this was really good and im so glad to see that you guys are in quartets!!!! i remember my hs chorus was positioned like this!!!!

  • @romeofroyalty asked some of the singers and they say they weren't specifically placed in a quartet grouping, but the parts were intermingled.

  • @won1once well it still looked great and sounded good!!!

  • @won1once We call that mixed formation teehee

  • The tenors need more...gusto.

And the girls totally out sang the men.

And I got annoyed with the baTtle...its gospel. Its okay to not enunciate the Ts

  • @1037pm well, you see, if the didn't enunciate the T's it would have sounded like balle. && since they are a choir && do enunciate consants, it's normal to them.

  • @1037pm Moses Hogan stated in an interview about this song that he specifically wanted the 'T's to be enunciated. I'll go with him on this one. :) But I do understand what you are saying.

  • @1037pm yeah but it could have been the directors thing to want them to sing it that way...i have sung songs with accents on different parts of the words because the director thought it would be more understandable etc etc

  • @1037pm theres a video of the composer Moses Hogan saying that he wants the T's from the guys and harsh "joshua" from the girls to create a "battle" within the choir within the song

  • WTF this isnt how the music was written!!

its the walls CAME a tumblin down!!!

  • The high-intensity part sounded a tad sharp, that is, the tenors and 1st sopranos.

  • our chorus is singing this.... great job!!

  • Good job, well done! I loved that the choir looked like they were enjoying themselves and were enthused and attentive to the director too. To me thats almost as important as pitch and balance seeing as its not a competition and all !!!! The standing O says it all.

  • I luv that solo!! ;)

  • amazing :).

  • Everyone has their opinions. Personall I believe this to be a well done, not excellent, rendition. On pitch and the tone was great.

  • it was ok but ur balance was off. i felt like at one point i could hear the men better than the ladies and then the ladies better than the men. my choir is doing this song and i think i like our version better. but i liked that solo XD

  • Good Job.I really enjoyed watching it.

  • The Interpretation wasn't what I thought it should have been however GOOD JOB!!

  • This is beautiful!!!!! We sang this when I was in high school over 10 years and this choir sounds as great as we did!! I am now a fan of Plano High School. I will most definitely be attending their performances going forward!!!

  • i dont really like this one.. i think that theladies were abit to less in terms of singing. and the men were not solid enough as bases.

  • i like my choirs version better too

  • this gave me shivers at the end!!!!!

    (in a good way)

  • That was the first time I've heard the descant at the end blend in so smoothly. Normally it seems to me that it is supposed to be like a women screaming in horror at the atrocities of war. Here I felt more like it was a wail of sadness dimly heard over the battlefield. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough bass, but overall a powerfull and beautiful rendition.

  • i like my choir's version of joshua better

  • this was an amazing rendition ....the director is amazing

  • Beginning was great. Middle got faster, still good. Then the key changed. Overall, pretty good. :)

  • WOW

  • this choir is the only thing i look forward to hearing after sitting through the neverending cluster concert. :)

just a thought to anyone who wants to know

  • yall did really good on this, but to me, I wish yall did not put that much emphasis on the shua part of joshua, can't really explain what I mean...know what, forget what I said lol yall were good

  • As a person, the director can be a real butthole. But as a Choir director, he is great at what he does

  • This was a Moses Hogan's "The Battle of Jericho"... very nice arrangement! I sang this song with my choir too! Greetings from Croatia!

  • @asfodel1983 i love his version

  • the tone quality of the women is very mature, especially for a high school choir. solo was a bit flat but otherwise nice color, well done

  • OK FIRST OF ALL 300fan13, metallicaman6288, AND ALL YOU OTHER HATERS. im sorry if you consider this a bad song. obviously you havent heard good music in your life. are u a multi grammy winning choir? i think not. do you have the most profound directors in the state of texas? i think not. if you dont have anyhting mature and professional to say, dont say it. other than that i suggest u keep your immature comments to yourself until you have been in a choir like the Plano Senior High choir.

  • Seriously, I bet your musical education ended in first grade when they realized you were retarded.

  • You three below me must be deaf or something... : /

  • dude this sucked sll they said was fit the battle of jericho

  • Is it just me....or does anyone else remember this song ISNT written entirely at Mezzo Forte?

  • ok.... so the first thing..... you guys took forever to start the song..... 2nd of all.....we acually need to hear each part at the beinging...

  • (2:59) mirza, started the ovation lol

  • good job~

were doing the same song in my high shool to~

  • woot woot! that was so awesome! :)

  • We did so well!!!! I got chills!!!!
