I remember watching a tractor pull at a major UK show and for laughs, people were bringing some rather unlikely prospects, but the one which stood out, because it was fairly heavy, but had a lot less horse power than the others, was a teleporter. It kept its engine revs up and used automatic change-on-the-go type gears. It wiped the floor in the distance stakes although not for time.
There was a bradley fighting vehicle that pulled at our local tractor pull, and the sled there (the wild rose) was able to stop it just over 100 ft down a 300 ft track........ That sled is tiny.
Those tractors were so slow, the drivers had time to turn around and ask the sled operator how his family was doing and what they did the past weekend. I think the sled operator even offered the driver some lemonade.
@Sternschnuppepuppe ... err, wrong! Mk1's had Rolls Royce B80 Petrol engines... Mk2's and onwards had Rolls Royce K60 multi-fuel engines.... I know as I'm ex-Reme, and own a Saracen which has the same engine as Mk 1's had.....
But the tank can pull like a team of a million :D
