  • 1:11 touch screen or.. maybe for DOS users?

  • Glad that Lenovo kept the R&D team of ThinkPad and not just replace them with cheap chinese labour and turn it into a low rank laptop pump.

  • I have a ThinkPad T43, it is how I want a laptop to be. It starts to get old now but works perfect. I run Linux on it and it's good, I can probably use it for years to come. (only the battery is bad) Anyone have any tips on what to get if I can afford a new ThinkPad? I want it to be like the T43 but upgraded, maybe more than 2 usb ports.

  • These are the laptops we have at my school!

  • i only have one question.... wtf is that little red thing on the keyboard?!?!?!?

  • @skatetoxic ok so i just found out that its a mouse replacment!!!! u move it like the analog stick on a psp!!! thats sick! :)

  • I loved my pentium II IBM Thinkpad and paid £1000 for it. But when IBM got changed to LENOVO. It just sucked. Why have a name which has a brand name which sucks live the vauxhall nova famously failed in spain for meaning doesn't work. IBM went to global leader to the lower leagues because the name Lenovo sucks and you know it!

  • OMG, it is like the same thing over and over - IBM needs to step out of the saammmeee oolllldd box. don't get me wrong, I had a thinkpad a long time ago and loved it because of a little built-in light on the top of the screen that shined on the keyboard. But thinkpads need a little change, they are lacking soooo much innovation. It is like if nintendo kept making the same old GameBoy.

give me your thumbs up or thumbs down, wondering if others are thinking the same here.

  • @axtallica I think that when IBM invented thinkpad, they were disciplined enough to stick to it's core value. Continuation of innovation while sticking to it's trademark core. And that little red dot on the keyboard is one of them.

  • anyone know the name of the song?

  • the T410s is epic, the X301 was amazing. Nothing from any other manufacture comes close to these. The X200, T410, T510 and W-series are decent, but other Thinkpads (like the Edge) are questionable. If you are at least a quasi-power user, buy a T410s with the optical bay battery, you will thank yourself a 1000 times.

  • I have had more Thinkpads than any other brand, highly recommended, very tough and reliable, they last for years, still have an old X23 that is so well made and feels great to use...I love the trackpoint when typing...

  • they are by far not that robust this video wants to make us believe ... I still have alot flexing probs with T41

At least you should take this series back

  • the thinkpad edge sucks balls

  • Kudos to the reputation these laptops have but the end of this video just makes me think 'how can you ensure that future innovation when you don't write the software that your products run?' It's like Rolls-Royce making a beautiful chassis and body and upholstering the interior with leather and mahogany and then crossing their fingers and hoping someone makes a nice engine to put under the hood...

  • @FloatingOnAZephyr

Hardware and Software are completely different things and do not require a connection. ThinkPad does have software for its computers, and I'm sure it will continue to add software as new hardware features become available as hinted in the video.

  • 联想是真棒,我想我有一个。

  • So the Thinkpad Edge is there to serve the SMB customers? hum... i always thought this model range is there to attract a certain consumer customer demographic whom are put off by the regular all black Thinkpad classic range.

  • Long live the Thinkpad! Here's to another 60 million and more! (and remember never to drop the Trackpoint!)

  • @jkots I just wonder how much Thinkpad is charging to license the trackpoint. More netbooks should come with the trackpoint and the netbook will be complete.

Sony Vaio P does it right ... but it is just too expensive for me. :(

  • @bummers Thinkpads are about functionality, while Sony Vaio like its name is about the Whoa factor in its external casing design and how thin the laptop can get.... much like their walkman range of the past.

  • @leadorg Agreed on both counts! :)

  • @bummers I couldn't agree more about trackpoints in netbooks. I sold my first and only netbook because of the lack of a trackpoint and have since gone with the trackpoint equipped "notbook" x100e, despite the inferior battery life.

  • @jkots Agreed!
