    ..NOT BAD

  • Amazing version. Great photos !!

  • bonham your too much

  • Thanks for sharing this...one of the highlights of my life was seeing Zep in 1977 in San Diego. Still one of the best concerts and memories ever! Great job!

  • The Rover is my favorite Zepp song!

  • Got this one on record/tape - yes it is from '77. Good stuff.

  • is this off the destroyer recording, i have a lot of the 77 tour but haven't heard this version.

  • @canonqueen Im pretty sure it is. I just cross checked it with my version.

  • i was at this concert - six weeks before my graduation from John Marshall High School. what i remember of it was awesome. thanks for the flashback :).

  • 77 quality years for zep's music if ya ask me.wish i coulda bin there!!

  • shit man Page stinks here!!

  • hahah, Page @ 1:40.

  • Plants' voice sounds supreme .. this is Plant at his very best. Fantastic bootleg, thanks for posting.

  • AWESOME !!!!!!! made my day ,.......

  • Bonzo rules!! RIP

  • 4:39, Plant giving the finger.

  • This is an amazing live performance from Cleveland in 1977 of The Rover from Physical Graffiti. Killer rare photos of Zep. John Bonhan is simply the best rock drummer ever!!

  • Surprisingly good sound for a bootleg.... thanks for posting this

  • heavy ZEP stuff from god !!

  • 1:07 looks like a brand new photo.

  • Awesome pics - Percy in short shorts and Jimmy half naked onstage are scary, lol.

I actually like a lot of the '77 tour - what I like to call an excess of excess 8)

  • If anybody noticed, at 3:19, this photo of Plant is pictured on the Led Zeppelin III album wheel.

  • 5:02 looks like a night from the 1977 tour. any idea which one?

and for god's sake, jimmy, EAT A SANDWICH.

  • This is the most underrated and under-appreciated of Led Zeppelin songs.

Alas, there are very few live recordings of it. This one, while good, seems to have a lot of improvisational lyrics.

I was at this concert. I feel old.

It was at the Richfield Coliseum, not Cleveland proper, an NBA arena that was located on the edge of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Yes, the Cavaliers played more or less in a woods between a highway and sheep pasture.

  • By far the best version of this song ... in fact this might be my favorite live performance of any Zeppelin song :)

  • this sounds great

  • wow, page is pretty out of it here.

  • where do you get this!

  • Did jimmy play the pedalsteel guitar live sometime? 0.28 where and when?

  • My favorite ex junky! lol I love this band

  • these were the heroin years for jimmy so the quality lacked a little bit but I have some boots from 77 and some of them are amazing!

  • @mikeman9412 He was up and down, he might have been dope sick and played better when he was at least partially high, hard to say.

  • Jhon Paul Jones is better than Jimmy.

But the guitar sounds better than Eddie.

    Van Halen

  • The guitar playing with the drums is very good.

    Quite excellent guitar work.

  • jimmy pages guitar playing is pretty fucked up. but awesome.

  • Sound that lad, well done

  • Those are awesome photos!!! A++++

  • The Destoyer show rules.

    have the whole show.

  • zeppppppppppppppp!

  • This sounds the business! amazin

  • 4:35 xD

  • Video Response is Van Halen playing The Rover in their bar days!

  • 2:38 is such an awesome picture.

  • 2:59 is better

  • My question is: Where can I get a copy of this?? It was so raw and sloppy in 77, Page at his most sloppy yet brilliant!

  • Looks like you´re john paul jones biggest fan.

  • I heard that they never played The Rover live. Well, at least the full version of it.

    Is this true?

  • No they never played it live but they used the intro riff of it into Sick Again

  • why?

  • Of course they didnt, otherwise you'd know about it

  • The Physical grafitti building is called St. Mark's place

  • i see ZEPPELIN people here!!!!!!

  • If you listen to the rest of this bootleg, you will hear Jimy Page make numerous mistakes. During Kashmir, his guitar just cuts out during the middle section. It takes him forever to get the problem fixed whatever it was.

The best bootleg from 77' is 21 June 1977 at the LA Forum. Now, that was an "on" night for them!

I also like the Seattle footage/performance.

  • Zep played 44 gigs in 77 b4 Karac died. How many boots do you have from '77? June 21 IS an killer show, but that boot is one of the most commonly circulated boots avail. Do you have many OTHER boots to justify your opinion that the 21st is Zeps best show? Well, I only have 11 or 12 full shows from 77, and Page has MORE 'on' gigs, than 'off'. Jun23 is IMO even better than 21st. NYC June14, Maryland May30 are DYNAMITE gigs for Pagey! I haven't listened to all my 77's for years, to compare further

  • Yes, I do have other boots to JUSTIFY my opinion thank you. Let's have a look at em' in no particular order

San Diego, CA. 19 June 77

    Oakland, CA 23 July 77

    Cleveland, OH 27 April 77

Tampa Stadium, FL 03 June 77 (show rained-out)

and, of course, the LA Forum 21 June 77

I have heard bits of a boot from one of the Chicago gigs (Page is sick that night), and even one from Dallas.

The 21 June gig and the Cleveland gig are the best-sounding recordings.

  • I do believe that the 21 June show is the best performance that my ears have heard from 77'. Maybe if some of the other boots from 77' were better in sound quality, I'd have a different opinion of them in terms of the quality of the performance.

"Destroyer" (Cleveland) is a good performance, but not a great one. Like I said, I hear Page make mistakes here and there, his technical problem during Kashmir, and the drum sound seems to be less powerful as the performance goes on.

    That's just me

  • In conclusion, I am a HUGE fan of the 77' tour. I think they're overall sound was at it's peak, and in some ways, ahead of it's time.

I love Bonzo's stainless-steel Ludwig drums that he showcased for the first time thta tour. Definitely the most intense sounding drums he's ever played. I also think his chops were their best too.

Let's not forget John Paul Jones's new Alembic bass guitars he began using in 77'. They were very advanced instruments in the 70's, and their sound shows it.

  • June 25 is the best of the LA gigs in my opinion. June 21 comes in second and I didnt really care for the 23 even though it is a great show. And dont forget the houston show of 77.

  • 4:37 lol

  • haha, 1:40 made me laugh

  • Really great photo collection, thanks for posting!

  • thanks for this!

  • My pleasure ಠ_ಠ =]

  • Dewd. You were NOT kidding about the rare photos! Pagey in 69 with his Black Beauty LP Custom (3:04 - 3:15) before it was stolen in 70. What about Page being onstage (5:02) ONLY with his boxer gotch..80's tour?? And that soundboard setlist (5:49) that says For Your Life..I haven't listened to all my 70 or so boots for a while, but I don't remember a live FYL?! Physical Graffitti building (4:12) is an ACTUAL place? (I thought it was a drawing)

Page pedal steel (0:29) What tour? 72, right?

  • The setlist at 5:47 is the 02 arena gig :) The Photo of page and steel guitar at 0:29 , im not sure , by the looks of him I'd say maybe around 1977ish ? But its just a guess

  • @uberpirox I'd say 77 for sure.

  • "And that soundboard setlist (5:49) that says For Your Life..I haven't listened to all my 70 or so boots for a while, but I don't remember a live FYL?! "

The set list you saw was the set list for the 02 arena reunion a year and a half ago.

  • The "Physical" building is in Manhattan NYC.....and the steel pedal was '77, he was into wearing leather alot then......I don't know why...he had the boots and his "qualude" tshirt....he also liked a leather jacket and german hat.....I'm sure he had the crop and whips somewhere....lol

  • according to the Band, the London 02 Concert was the 1st time they ever played "For Your Life" I think also, here on you tube, is a Jimmy Page interview where he says they never played it before. Look under Zeppelin London 02 and you'll find it. By they way, they pulled it off great. They actually sounded better in Dec 07, then 1977.

  • Ya, thanks dewd. In Manhattan, huh? Someone else responded and said it is the same building the Stones used in one of their videos from the 70's(?). I'm curious of what the attraction was for the 'mega" english bands? Ya, I originally suspected that the Pedal Steel pic was in and aroung 76-77. In either case, he appears to be sitting in on someone else's gig (possibly 78?). And ya, I was aware of his taste for old nazi era army leather attire by the time of the Berlin show in 1980. Slainte!

  • you can see the building in the Stones video for "waiting for a friend".(i believe it is on u tube somewheres)

  • thanks dewd..I'll check it out. Do you know why the Zep, and the Stones were attracted to this particular building? What borough of NYC is it in ?

  • @ShaemusTOFinnigan The pedal-steel photo is from the 1977-tour rehearsals.

  • @ShaemusTOFinnigan imagine that the pages black beauty is somewhere out there collectin dust or some one is playing it right now.....

  • @tupefuzz - hells ya amigo..i DO think of that enigmatic Black Ass Beauty! EVERY time i see a guitarist with a an old Black Les Paul, with that unique style of whammy bar rig, set up on the bridge..i wonder empahtically..." Is that...COULD that....be the ONE" !? (haha) Slainte, tupe!

  • NICE!

  • yeah i like mine with a little fur slightly rare not raw bathed in vinegar usually does the trick shit sick again

  • it is when you just keep clicking on the hd version at 13 secs and closing the first one over and over the rover is rare you dim witted lost twit

  • but they always played the rover intro all throughout the 77 tour..its not really rare. its probably rare to get this bootleg maybe:) although I got it..

  • Reason i added 'Rare' to the title is that I'm guessing a lot of fans (especially younger ones) who haven't heard of or heard any bootlegs before might find this rare, to bootleg collectors this is pretty much very common :)

  • this rly isnt that rare.. its destroyer

  • Booty pic 1:55

  • This is Cleveland, 1977," DESTROYER". I have heard it a thousand times (20 years ago). ha ha ha !!! It was nice to finally see Seatle Skydome video. The visual show was great.

  • Absolutely WOW - I saw the show in Pontiac Michigan in Apr 77 but cannot find any footage from that --- How friggin amazing were these guys?????????

  • I have the Cleveland Destroyer. And I bought the Seatle Skydome concert ( 2 hours of video) . It was wonderfull , if you want it , just respond to this ,I will send you the CD,

    Rodney.

  • Was this around April 1977? That is when I saw them in Pontiac Michigan - I would definitely be interested in this - do you send it electronically (I am not a techy person, so if this is a dumb question, I apologize) or do you send the physical CD?

  • hey i was just wondering where you bought those from???

  • At 2:13, The pic of Jimmy he looks like Crowley, Look at side view pics of Crowley and youll see what Im talking about freakin awesome!!!

  • Thank You My Friend

  • Cleveland 77, this isn't destroyer is it?

  • wow, look at The pics at 1:42 and 1:45, probably the funniest pics of Pagey I've ever seen.

    Thanks for the upload

  • both songs are awesome!

  • Cleveland April,27th show

  • This is at the Richfield Collusium, from the album destroyer.

  • What's wrong with that? Isn't Red Bull the way to a good nites rest for us all? ;-)

  • I know I'll be sleeping good tonight, Just hope i don't end up sleeping TOO good, oversleeping by several hours and defeating the point of staying awake all night so as to be tired by the evening and sleeping early :p

  • It's been driving me a bit bonkers because that's one of only several boot discs I have out of many that doesn't specify dates and places so to stumble upon it just today finally laid it to rest. ...now I can sleep ;-)

  • I wish i could sleep :P

Woke up at 9pm yesterday O_O, Drank 2 red bulls during the course of last night to keep myself awake, so i can sleep at a normal time (hopefully not 7am again) tonight to correct my sleeping pattern :> Yay

  • wooow man thats crazy... my uncle almost died for drinking too much red bull :S he got some kind of nerve disorder or something.. be careful with red bull!!

  • OK, finally figured out which concert date this is from uberpirox. And quite by accident. I got the entire Cleveland 4-27-77 show just this evening and when Sick Again played I realized right off this is from that show. Only thing missing from this one is the audience chatter, then Plant rapping with the sudience then the fadeout but this is very defenitely Cleveland 4-27-77 which is the first show there I do believe.

  • Cheers mate :) Correcting Title now

  • This sounds like 75, maybe Seattle.

  • I guess they had dodge neon's back then lol (4:10)

  • I pulled out all my Zep bootleg CDs tonight, and all I can tell you is this is on Through The Years 75-77. I'm afraid that's one disc that wasn't very detailed info wise.

  • Ahh Okay, Cheers anyway mate :)

  • To be honest, '77 shows were often a bit dodgy as far as Page's playing is concerned. At least from the ones I've heard. I have yet to hear 1 single show from '77 however where Bonzo was sloppy and I've heard a ton. Somehow, he and JPJ always seemed pretty tight. Some shows Bonham's drumming might be abit more intense than others, but sloppy, no.

  • fantastic clip!!!

  • bonzos drummin is amazing, surprisngly tight for this year as they were all FUCKED with drugs. Im not saying thats a BAD thing btw

  • Lol joe, You DRUG FIEND! :)

When you gonna upload more stuff?

  • I agree with you about this being about the best live version of this. They were pretty tight on this one and Bonham's drumming was great, especially those mammoth and extraordinarily smooth across the kit rolls he does in numerous places.

  • Ah! I see you were finally able to post it. THX!(I sent it to you some months back) Nice job.

  • :D I've been listening to this like every day, and seeing as I haven't had some new videos for a while, i thought why not! :>

Thanks for sending it to me :)
