Was shocked to see "Eric" appearing on "Ugly Betty" in a less exciting character. I stopped watching CSI: Miami when Khandi Alexander left. No one can fill her shoes as "Alexx." This proved itself with her replacement. None of Alexander's screen charisma! For example, no one can "nurture" a dead body the way "Alexx" can.

One thing i never fully understood about CSI is the role of the main characters on the show. For example, is horatio a Police dectetive, a forensic scientist or a Crime Scene Investigator? it seems to me that he does everything and that's just not very realistic at all. He interrogates the suspects and he also analysing DNA in the LAB.

It depends on watch CSI you watch. In the original CSI, they are simply CSIs (from what I recall). In CSI: Miami, I remember in a behind the scenes clip on one of the DVDs, we were told that they were both CSIs and cops due to the fact that in the real Miami, they are also cops and CSIs.

Don't know if that's changed, though, and I am not sure about CSI: New York.

Yeah that's what i mean. In the CSI New York, and i don't watch it as often as i once did, Gary Sinise, the lead character who plays detective, often does do forensic science work as well as interrogating and arresting suspects. Plus, in the CSI las vegas, which is the one CSI show i watch consistently, Grisom, a forensic scientist or Crime Scene Investigator, often interrogates suspects himself. Now i've never been arrested before, but i doubt that if i do, a scientist will interrogate me.
