I never knew much about Heath. As far as I was knew, he was just a idol type actor. When he was announced as Joker, I was disappointed. My opinion began to change with the first image of Joker, a close-up shot with makeup and a scarred face. The essence of Joker, insane, maniacal & I began to feel the stirrings of excitement. The fact that Heath put so much into it, devoted so much of himself and his energy into doing justice to this challenging and fascinating role makes him a hero in my eyes.

I read an old interview not too long ago where heath ledger said his idols were u2 when he was growing up. Its funny cos the song and heaths Joker give off the same vibe, they go together so well. I don't think this connection is a coincidence. I would be inclined to say that heath took some inspiration from u2 and probably bono in creating his joker.

I've litteraly spent nights drinking beer and checking each and every fan-made Dark Knight clip on Youtube over the last year. THIS. IS. THE. ONE. It is beautiful, methodical, funny (great song choice)... it has it all. Congrats, you win the Internet, Sir! The Joker theme by itself was enough to make my ex-girlfriend really nervous. Elfman couldn't achieve that. (Admittedly, the whole movie was different, and Zimmer's soundtrack reminds you of a very different Joker than Nicholson's, and much more disturbing scenes, but still...)
