Damn best building game ever. I would play it for hours and hours!! Building massive cites and navys. "There is a confligaration in your city!" So many fires when you get into really big expansions. LOVE< LOVE < LOVE this game. Now there is a Anno 2170 coming in fall 2011. That should be cool to try.

This game is absolute madness after the 'merchant' level, you need a huge population and have to make sure the inhabitants have everything they need at 100%

The furthest i got was at lvl merchant with a population of 1100, then i saw a building who required 1900 merchants, i got scared and exit the game :P

I have installed Anno 1503 again after some years including the addon ("Schätze, Monster und Piraten" - "Treasures, monsters and pirates") and I need it to run without the CDs! My optical drive is broken, and I could at least install from a disk image.

I have all versions completely legally. Any suggestions?

1701 got map editor and multiplayer and 1503 is just plain awesome.

I am not enjoying playing fps,why?not sure.

I guess the gameplay is the same in all fps's,all you do in most of them is SHOOT,and,indeed you must have a fast hand,but,you don't have to patiently progress through the game,it's all about shooting and finishing misions where you need to shoot..

And yeah,I prefer these kind of games where you can gradually progress and think your way up..that's all.

My point was that this game is 100% different than a fps in each way possible.

I started playing it few days ago...I play on mission->Citizen or something its the best way to start cause you have loads of money and if you don't know how to play straight.you should check the guide =).It helped me alot so for now im like on my main island +200 money and generaly im like in -300+ or something hahha, cause I have 2 islands

Anno 1503 was released in 2002, so in days when CPUs and graphic cards were notably slower than today.

Moreover this was designed as strategy game, not as action movie. ;=)
