The Japanese were prepared to fight to the death in the face of atomic bombs: it took the threat of Russia AND the bombs to make them quit

Realistically, if someone went back in time and prevented Pearl Harbor we wouldn't have entered WW2. WW2 was still going on without us. And if we haven't entered WW2, the Axis Powers would have won. We would be living in West Reichtown in Hitlerville if we didn't enter WW2.
@newyy1 I think you overestimate the USA's contributions in Europe. D-Day was certainly important, but it wasn't what beat the Axis. The USSR did way more to secure victory in Europe.
To me the more interesting part of this scenario is whether or not there would still have been a cold war had America never entered WW2. I also wonder if China would still have been liberated without American intervention.

Realistically, if someone went back in time and prevented Pearl Harbor we wouldn't have entered WW2. WW2 was still going on without us. And if we haven't entered WW2, the Axis Powers would have won. We would be living in West Reichtown in Hitlerville if we didn't enter WW2.

@newyy1 I think you overestimate the USA's contributions in Europe. D-Day was certainly important, but it wasn't what beat the Axis. The USSR did way more to secure victory in Europe.
To me the more interesting part of this scenario is whether or not there would still have been a cold war had America never entered WW2. I also wonder if China would still have been liberated without American intervention.
