(5/9) Robert Higgs at FFF: "The Great Depression and the Current Recession"

He really sums up my feeling about Roosevelt and programs like the CCC. You know, growing up, the memory of those programs among the older members of our communities were quite strong and sometimes favorable, so some really loved Roosevelt (though not all by far!) yet now I start to realize just why we went through that awful depression, and I realize as helpful as those programs were, we didn't need to go through that kind of depression to begin with (just like now!!)
