Hahaha, how much does that cost? Is it really road legal and what is the service interval on that thing? How about we pick an equally expensive, equally impractical, race bike to compete against the car. AND put better tires on the bike. The car might still win, but in the end the 'ultimate' car SHOULD win, physics is on the side of cars when compared to bikes. Likewise, physics favors some of the other more unusual drive vehicles over 4 wheel cars. Which can I have the most fun on?

That car is in it's stock form faster then all liter bikes if i'm correct, and cars are faster on most tracks then bikes. I'm talking F1 against motogp here. Without looking at price tags ofcourse. On tracks with alot of straights a bike will win, but who cares, they are both fun. Bikes are more fun tho :P

the thing is with bikes comparing to cars, is....the skill of the rider. That guy was obviously inexperienced with a literbike.....and even they captured it...he cant keep his front wheel down. Its almost as if they tried to show the bike has too much power.

also, smaller cc bikes typically have better laptimes than a 1000.

it strongly depends on which track you are riding.

On a track with lot of long straight lines a 1000cc is superior to a 600 cc or a 750cc because it has more top power.

If you are riding a smaller circuit with more bends than a 1000 cc and a 600 cc are more equal.

They corner about just the same, the only trick with a 600 cc  is that you have to put in the right gear because a 1000 cc can accelerate in practically any gear you put it in.

ya, ive ridden both, and own a 750 and a 1000, and cornering is not the same. The larger engine has a higher gyroscopic effect.

Lap times on most tracks is better with a smaller bike. But you are right, longer straighted tracks...the 1000 will be better.

Sometimes these shows can be a bit annoying. I like Fifth Gear, but everytime I see these face offs, there is always an imbalance. Correct me if im wrong but that car would come under the 'prototype' bracket, as its not a mass produced vehicle, its built to race, so how is it a fair test to put it up against a mass production road bike, with road tyres, etc etc. Maybe I am a bit biased, i'll be the first to admit it, but put it up against a proper race bike and lets see what Happens!!!!

nahhh it's really a fair race, thats basically a racecar with slick's against a stock GSXR. Put a better rider on there instead of somebody that they think is good like lets say Nicky Hayden on his Honda or even on this bike and the outcome would be much different. Set the bike up for this short track and you will see a much bigger difference. Kinda funny that cars must have an insane engine with very light weight thats basically a full out racecar just to beat a stock bike.

The Westfield is a road car in legal terms only, the GSXR is mass produced with a manf warranty.
