  • Hi friends i buy new peacock cichlids like this but my tell me why my fish colour is not bright like your fish

is only one fish in my tank on others cichlid

some thin wrong plzzzzz give me help...

  • OMG, frontosas and yellow labs?

this is NOT the best combination of fish, my friend.

take either labs of fronts out!

  • @prhenwood How much did you pay for the red peacock?

  • I like your video, but your red peacock is getting beat up way to much by your yellow lab. look at this video again and pay close attention to the scales on both sides of the red peacock. So sad to see this. This is the problem with keeping all types of malawi cichlids in the same tank. sorry to bug you with this, but the best thing to do is to keep Peacocks alone or with less aggressive malawi cichlids so they can have a better chance...

  • @agoge72 got rid of most of them so the peacock is by himself, Thanks for the hint and the comment.

  • Bad ass peacocks. 6/10 for the tank. COMMENT MY CRAZY FUNNY COOL VIDZZZ OF MY CICHLIDS AND A VISCIOUS JACK RUSSELL TERRIER

  • i have cichlids to and i have a firebird peacock.. are they the same?.. mine are still small and not very colourfull yet

  • @clifan8r different sub-species of peacock again the more colour on him it s a male, if it still brown most likely a female.

  • @prhenwood its only about 4 cm

  • Beautiful fish wher u get him?

  • @AnthonyPrimmer got them at the pet store i work at.

  • just picked mine up last week. very nice ciclid.

  • hey man, i just have a quick question for you, i have a 40 gallon setup with a good ammount of rocks and a decent layout. i have 5 peacocks, 2 red jacobi and 3 yellow peacock, (with 3 yellow labs) the biggest yellow peacock seems to be territorial of most of the rock hiding spots would you think i would have problems in the future as they get bigger or do they mature more and become more docile.

  • @iGotMetal i would get a bigger tank, and your right they will get territorial. Get more hiding spots so they can disappear in the rocks to feel secure and happy. Get rocks, slate rock, volcanic rock anything for them to hide in.

  • Very beautiful.

  • Wow your red peacock is STUNNING.

I recently set up a 40 gallon which though 40 inches long and 14 wide think 16 high so think bit to small for a pair of peacocks .

Tank is set up with rocks but empty as I decide what cichlids to get.

  • can u tell me how long it took for it to get its color cause i got one and its still brown

  • @kashiakevinlo it's mostly because theres other fish in there he's the dominate male in the tank right now, water changes will help the colour, good pelleted diet, with krill. krill has a natural colour enhancer.

  • @kashiakevinlo you could have a female, females are brown.

  • Beautiful fish! Love the Ruby! Really nice!

  • can u tell me the name of the black and white striped fish any1 ?

  • its a frontosa cichlids fry

  • @cbrow770 black and white is a burundi Frontosa, sorry about the late reply

  • nicw tank how big does the pecock grow

  • Your cichlids are absolutely spectacular!!! I'm starting a 50 gal Malawi tank

  • your tank is sick especially the peacock i just started an african cichlid tank i have 7 cichlids and i plan on getting a breeding pair of ob peacocks ill post a video of it finished soon

  • Do I see mbuna in there? I thought you could mix them with peacocks

  • Yup, u do... gorgeous huh?

  • I got a new video of my new Burundy Frontosa's, check out that video.

  • Those are great peacocks...what have you got as tankmates for them? I am debating getting one to add to my 75 gallon, but my fish store guys are saying they may not get along w/ my parrot cichlid, jack dempsey and severum.

  • Try to get something that is almost as aggressive so they can protect each other, otherwise you'll have problems

  • do not mix African and American cichlids as a rule of thumb

  • @laksman108 I have Africans and Americans mixed and they get along fine. I understand your philosophy but I have a Jack in with a Sunshine Peacock and he doesn't bother anyone. 1. Because he was put in when he was tiny and 2. Because he was put in last. I've been keeping Cichlids for decades. It's a game of roulette with them.

  • @pipperoooo very true....

  • @laksman108 PS I mix up the rocks every month when I clean the tank. That has always seemed to work with my cichlids.

  • i have also kept cichlids for years and used to mix my cichlids but they are much nicer and happier in a biotype

  • Just a suggestion. Add a background to your tank to make it more "finished " looking. Your fish will look better and it hides some of the equipment that hangs off the back. I taped colored fabric over stiff corrugated plastic and just put it between the back glass and the wall.

  • been a while since i 've been on utube. what kind of background? thanks for your input.

  • At that time it was a 21 gal, I have a 40gal now, 2 Side filters and one canister now.

  • how big is that tank? and nice peacocks

  • What a great Peacock! this is an awesome specimen!

  • Ver nice!!!They are big!!!

  • The Ruben Red is nice!!!

What do you feed him and how often you change your water

    thanks

  • I changed the water once a week 10%, i feed them krill, and Tetra color Granules, have a canister filter and 2 side filters on it for extra oxygen

  • yea just dull but still got abit of red in her

  • i got two Rubin Red Peacock Cichlids thay are very nice i got a male and female hopeing on breeding soon :)

  • What does the female look like, a little duller then your male?
