Teacher "X" teaches 5 classes. He teaches 3 Algebra classes, 1 Advanced Algebra class, and 1 remedial class. His first four classes are okay, but his last class is utter chaos!

Because even in "Advanced Placement" courses, I have learned almost nothing, because of the low standards in our country's school system.
If we'd worry more about our future and less about hurting a kid's feelings because they aren't in the "smart" class, we can overcome these challenges.

Well, if they believe obama is a socialist, and they aren't okay with that, then that's the parent's prerogative to keep the child away from the speech. I think the post speech questionnaire was what really made it controversial.
To make the jump from not wanting their child to hear a particular speech, to racism, is wrong. That line of thinking, that everything must revolve around race, is what leads to racism in the first place.

It sounds like you are having some personal problems at school and I actually hate that. My son was picked on by someone who was mainstreamed but was mentally off in some way and the teachers just let the kid hit my son on the head with his saxophone every day. Asking how you can help the President, doesn't mean you have to agree with his politics. Helping, can also include writing a paper expressing your disapproval of what he is doing, and suggesting an alternative. All this is doing is encouraging civic mindedness. I was in elementary school when Reagan was in office, and I was asked to do the same thing (continued).
