  • I'm only 15 years old, but I plan to have a KITT replica just like yours. You are so lucky!!!!!!!!!!

  • man dude normly i dont like that year/body stiil on camaros and trans ams but u gotta sharp car. how much did it cost to trun it into a K.I.T.T car?

  • @TRX400atc1994 Thanks for the nice words. And as far as costs......well, I've been working on the car since 1994 and have done almost all the work myself. I normally don't disclose dollar amounts since my amount would not be a typical figure based on how much it is to convert a car to this. I'll just say this, more than 5,000, but less than 25,000. :-)

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • @KN1IGHT no prob dude :) yeah i figured it`d cost alot to make one like that, my dad builds alot of old cars and hot rods. you`ll spend alot of money quick, im working on a 77 cutlass 442 iv spend who no`s how much on it and still needs a good bit done to it

  • hey mike, still have my proof?

  • lol, now i wanna get out and drive, if i could.

Lol, i'm so going to make a KITT car when i'm older, lol.

Mike, since ur KITT car is so good, i'd like some help from you, makin mine, when i start to make mine, lol

    Peace all

  • @acersimpson1 Thanks for the nice words. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT No Problem Man

You think you'd be able to help me make my own, or should i get Rob Louisell to make it, and then get you to help with the multi-function alarm, and multiple kill switches?

    Let me know.

    Peace man :-)

    Paul

  • @acersimpson1 I'd be happy to give you pointers on the methods that I did in my car, but keep in mind, I don't make these cars for a living, nor do I make them as a profession. My car was a labor of love, and the other dashboards I did were done as favors for buddies of mine that live in the area. I can always lend some helpful advice, but Rob does these cars professionally and for a living. It would be beneficial to you to seek him out so he can tell you what he can do for you.

  • @KN1IGHT ok, i have contacted, Rob, but he has the price in Canadian Currency, as: $57,552.00

So, would it be cheaper, to make it myself, because that price, INCLUDES the car, he supplies for it.

    So, idk.

    Thnx for the tips though

    :-)

    See you online.

    Paul

  • @KN1IGHT Okay, thank you, for volunteering to give me some pointers on the methods you did.

    See you online

    Paul

  • AWESOME man

  • @nitrosama thanks. :-)

  • Footage since 1:40 reminds me of the original series :D You managed to find some good locations to film :D

  • @r92g Thanks. :-)

  • i know that why i want one.

  • ive been looking to buy one but there so hard to get hold of.there are hundreds of general lee"s out there but hardly any of these. best vovie car since the bond cars

  • @sdavis732010 Many of the nicer Knight Rider Kitt conversions are more than just a shiny paint job on a slick car....(like the General) not that I'm knocking the General.....it's a sweet car too.....but at least with "my" Kitt....he's fully loaded inside and out....and the others you see like that represent hundreds if not thousands of hours of work. Many folks don't buy them like that, they put in the tool time and do the work themselves. :-) Peace man.

    Mike

  • 1982 Pontiac Trans Am...$1200 bucks

All the guts, new nose, and electronics with install..$20,000..

    Am I close??

  • @StoneCold75 I'm afraid not my friend. The prices really vary from one supplier to the next. The fiberglass conversion parts as well as the electronics can get pretty expensive......but who you go through may make the difference between that 20,000 dollar figure, and 10,000 dollars. And I didn't have it installed....I did all the body, electronics, and add on pieces myself. So if you figure in someone else labor....then yes, you'll be paying a high price. :-)

    Peace man

  • Nice!

  • You should drive off the trailer and jump over ramps. But first of all you need those Hasselhoff sunglasses and this sexy hair. Really nice replica, and finally proper track used :)

  • @SlashButcher Don't feel like destroying my Kitt car just for the sake of Knight Rider enthusiasts. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT Hehehe, just joking man :)

  • @SlashButcher :-) lol

  • ha i see that car everyday(: its so cool i want it. he lives here i live in claremore!

  • @Amber123481 Next time I pass by you......you'll have to let me know. :-)

  • Great looking car you have there!!!! I was just wondering the cops never messed with you for having the red scanner light in the front of the car? In Massachusetts they would have that car pulled over every 2 seconds, if they could catch it that is....lol Again great car!!!!!

  • @BIGGREENLEAF1 I don't make a habit of driving with the scanner on since it is illegal to drive with. For the purpose of these videos, I drive with it on on closed roads, or parking lots. The scanner serves a dual purpose actually. Other than a Knight Rider decoration, it also turns on and off with my car alarm. As far as the cops go, they know me well enough to know that my Kitt is a show car that I like to play with. I don't bother them, they don't bother me. Thanks for the nice words.

  • @KN1IGHT Thanks for the explanation, I guess cops are not all hard asses like they are here Massachusetts but I should know that having just moved here from Minnesota because most of them were not that bad. I used to love that show in my younger days and still do for that matter and thing your duplication of the car is wonderful, good luck with it....

  • lol no signal on those kit cars?

  • @nonamebrand1987 Yes there are.....look closer. :-)

  • Great video! I love it! Wish I had a Kitt car

  • Seen you driven around claremore for years.. Pretty jealous if i do say so myself.. I drive a real piece of shit.. but that dosent stop me. :) Keep on cruisin.

  • Thanks for the nice words. What are you usually crusin around in? Maybe some day we'll bump into each other.....well....not literally... :-)

    Thanks again.

    Mike

  • '98 Taurus... :(

    lol

  • Maybe you could make an OCP cop car from Robocop.... :-)

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • thats cool lookin car i used to watch the movie back in the day

  • Me Too. :-)

  • OMG i want!

message me when you want to sell

  • Thanks. :-) I'll be sure to let you know. :-)

  • I want it to have my baby. Damn, this is so awesome!

  • Uhh...thanks I think. :-)

  • I have a Toyota Aygo. Would that make a good KITT? X-)

  • I'm not even sure what that is..... :-)

  • It's a small cheap Japanese hatchback. Look it up on Google X>))

  • Then no...... Kitt is a 3rd Gen Trans Am or Firebird.....nothing more, nothing less.

  • awesome video, great car and fucking good music !

  • Thanks for the nice words.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • where mike lol

  • See that guy in the video......that's Mike. :-)

  • o i see

  • Beautiful. Do you get lots of stares from people when you are driving?

  • Thanks for the nice words. When people realize what's driving along side them...they either slam on the brakes....or speed up to take another look. It's kinda funny at times. :-)

    Mike

  • not to be a mean commenter or something but shouldnt that dash have 2 screens and not 1 or is it season 3-4 dash i thout 3-4 dash had more colord im confuzed

  • I don't think you're a mean commenter, but you are a wee bit confused. My dash is an exact replica of the dash from season 3 and 4. The first and second season had the two TV style. I never liked that one that much......I was always into the style that's in my Kitt car.

    Peace man..

    Mike

  • can you make a batmobile too

  • I've been asked that time and time again. But to be honest.....if there was one other Star Car I'd love to do......it would be to take an old Plymouth Fury and turn it into CHRISTINE. :-)

  • I don't think you're a mean commenter, but you are a wee bit confused. My dash is an exact replica of the dash from season 3 and 4. The first and second season had the two TV style. I never liked that one that much......I was always into the style that's in my Kitt car.

    Peace man..

    Mike

  • someone try to hit the turbo boost button once in this car.

Just say kit crash into a train lol

  • now only thing you need anymore is working telltale buttons or what should i call them? panp?

  • The big PANP buttons were not in the 3rd and 4th season Kitt. They were integrated into the dash like mine.

  • Yeah, they were just leds right? But isn't it cooler to have them actually working? Or are you after a "screen accurate replica"? And sorry if my english is bit weird :D

  • Your english is fine dude. :-) My Kitt is always undergoing changes and upgrades....so who's to say? I look for functionality wherever I can put it....so maybe some day.....

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • Sweet!

  • i would give everything just for have kitt one day

  • I won't comment on that.....but thanks for the thought. :-)

  • xDD

  • Everytime I see this video i go for a drive in my 86 Firebird. In the process of Converting it to KITT. But not a complete kitt such as yours. my firebird has chrome wheels and a new paint job. Black of course. But not sure If i wanna change the interior. Mine is red and a 5 speed. besides it would be hard to shift with the dash in the way. Someday. I have the scanner as well but putting it my stock bumper to make it look like Kitt in season 1. Can you help me? I have videos up of my car as well

  • everytime I watch this i do go for a drive in my 86 Firebird. I'm converting it to Kitt but just a minor conversion with my own twist. I have the scanner, installing it today, couldnt find the wheels and hubcaps up here so i bought chrome 18s. and it just came out of paint but not sure if i should do the interior. the interior of my car is red and It would be pretty hard to shift a manual with the enormous dash. But i love your car. check out my Firebird!

  • Nice car,

I also I want the one I have always desired

  • if i was old enough and had this car i would just drive and never stop crossing the united states of america having all those dash lights and kitts voice as company

  • Its a good thing I DONT have a KITT,, if I did my fuel costs would drain my wallet because I would drive it constantly LOL

I seriously do want to buy one at some point,, I cant think of a more kick ass car in automotive history to be driving,, especially with the theme music bumpin!

  • I agree with you, this car is in my 5 top list cars ever!!! I want to buy one!! But where? For how much? and who install the dash just like the original?

  • awsome video.

  • I need a car just like this could you build one then sell it?

  • I dont think I have it in me to build another one. :-) If I did, it would become a very expensive Trans Am to own.

    Peace man

  • Hey Mike any new functions yet?

  • wheres the best place to find body parts for TAs

  • mike im trying to find an internet store that sells the 15 inche knight rider Rims, would you help me find a site, or anyone else

  • I'll keep my eyes open for you for an affordable set. There's a salvage yard here in the town I live in that has a Trans Am with the wheels you're looking for, but they're 14s. I'll see if I can find a decently priced set and let you know. Talk to you soon.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall that K.I.T.T. had a rear view mirror. Am I wrong? Again awesome car.

  • No rear view mirror. In some of the first season episodes, you can clearly see a rear view mirror. But that wasn't a full conversion. Just a stock Trans Am with a Kitt bumper on it.

  • What kind of tv in the dash was that? specifically what brand model and size?

  • It's a 7 inch LCD monitor. The brand is generic but I'll do some more looking into it for you.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • ok thanks PM if you find anything out did you buy it online or from a store?

  • Believe it or not, I found the monitor at a Flea Market. :-)

    Mike

  • Nice only if I can find flea market :)

  • You might want to look around on Ebay. I've been seeing some awesome monitors that look much like mine, but slightly bigger. I can fit a ten inch screen in my dash without it looking rediculous. And I've seen some 7,8 and 10 inch screens on Ebay....and Touch Screen!! no less. Ultimately, that's the route I want to take. But you may score a good one off Ebay.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • If I do that will it be unauthentic if I hook a carpc to the monitor? I have this phone call feature I want to use and possible GPS but idk if I'll get frowned upon for having a carpc hooked to the monitor thats in the dash.

  • It all depends on how you hook up to it. My autopc will be hidden with a switching box allowing me to use my cameras on my monitor, or my PC.

    Mike

  • hmm ok thanks.

  • I took my son yesterday to the championship Auto Show in Chicago to see the original kitt. I was very disappointed with the condition it was in. I would have given it a 5 out of a 10. I give yours a 9 considering that after you finish your upgrades your car will definitely be a 10.

    Good work your car

  • Thanks man.

    Mike

  • I love you KITT, I love your movies, I hope my KITT turns out to be half the car yours is, I'll be happy! See you in Vegas for the KR Fest - Peace, StarskyKnight.

  • Thanks for the great comment man. I know my Kitt isn't the nicest out there, but I try to make him exactly what I remember in the show, not to mention adding flare here and there to make him my own. I have a bunch of work to do to him before March. Nothing wrong or anything, just wanting to keep up with the "flare" here and there and bring something special to Vegas. Thanks again man. See you there.

    Mike

  • You know what would be tight, Maybe K.I.T.T VS GHOSTBUSTERS, A MOVIE OR SOMETHING.

  • We've actually spoke about that. :-) Indeed that may happen some day soon. Peace man.

    Mike

  • DAMN!!! ur makin me jealous!!! how much did u put into this car. (just as a refrence for me when i make mine)

  • Thanks man. If you get a chance...check out my myspace page with all my car stuff. It will answer a bunch of your questions. Peace man.

    Mike

  • very nice car

  • Thanks

  • new video of KITT again wow thats great Mike, Cant wait to see that!!!

  • Very Soon. :-)

  • Thanks for the great comments man. And yes, I can indeed use the driving lights in the nose instead of the flip up lights if I choose. They have 55 watt bulbs in them so they are more than bright enough to use on the road. Thanks again man. New video coming soon.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • mate, great video, added to my fav's as usual.

kitt looks great with the new paint job.

and I love your upper console now.

    Mike

    Peace man.
