Back in the old Club 57 / Open Theater / Theater for the New City days, Ann Magnuson was evolving into one of the best performance artists (along with Theodora Skipitares, Spalding Gray, Guerilla Girls, Annie Sprinkle, Brother Theodore, The Talking Band, Joey Arias and the Wooster Group), pushing the boundaries of performance beyond the bridges and tunnels and out into the wild. I was a huge fan of Bongwater, Dazed and Chinese. Thanks for posting this, a real find.

Ann was one of the few musician/artists I had a bona fide crush on in college. I wore 'Double Bummer' out when it was released and still have the publicity still that came with the press kit. Few have matched her seductive charisma and mercurial talent. Kramer was the perfect musical foil, cuz the two of them were capable & willing to go in so many directions without losing Bongwater's core personality . I last saw Ann on the Disinfo Con DVD about 5 years ago...still captivating. What's new,Ann?
