  • Let's inform everyone on how elections work shall we. A person who runs for office needs money for commercial time and exposure. So they ask big businesses for donations. In turn the big businesses ask the candidate to pass certain bills that will earn them big money in return. This is how it has been done from the start. If that is not corruption I do not know what is. Perry for example wants 20% flat tax. WHY? Because Big OIL is backing him. Big Oil pays more than 20% tax so they will benefit.

  • People in the government need to do whats good for the Country, regardless of Pride.

Suck it up, and help who you are supposed to be helping, not your pride or your pocket!

  • The reason that I don't trust polls is because news anchors often say vague phrases like "a recent poll shows...", which doesn't specify what group(s) sponsored the poll. Secondly, polls don't show the size of the population which were included in the poll and from what demographic region(s) the polling were taken from.

  • Cenk is using exactly what he is talking against, he claims 70% want reform, but a majority of Americans don't want the current proposed reform. So people are for reform but not necessarily the ones the politicians want.

  • That's because anything proposed by the US government is for buddies of politicians and to make them more money and NOT for the American people.

  • @shred5

exactly, and the government officials are exempt from much of what is in the healthcare reform.

  • The people who write these memos and the people who use them are totally immoral

  • Republicans WANT Healthcare Reform! The American People want Healthcare Reform. What Republicans DONT want is a government run health care system. Let the GOV regulate, cut prices whatever else. But dont give them my bank account, and let me choose what treatment i get. STOP SAYING REPUBLICANS ARE AGAINST REFORM. We are against many things in this bill....

  • euhm..you DO know that a public option means you choose which treatment you get...aaaaand that there is nothing writting anywhere about the government going into your bank account?

aaaand that under the republicans...the healthcare system totally went from bad to FUCKIN HORRIBLE and none of them even Mentionned reforms?

  • You know, rest, the people who are whining about the gov getting into their bank accounts, must not have social security numbers, which would mean IRS has no knowledge of them, which would mean these people are not paying taxes, or writing checks to IRS, neither are they getting tax refund checks sent via direct deposit.....

  • not all of them..lets keep fighting on

  • (C) enable electronic funds transfers, in order to allow automated reconciliation with the related health care payment and remittance advice" - Section 163 page 59

  • good point there, im not supporting that.

Althou i would not destroy the whole thing cuz of that specific clause.

  • @restlys so i suppose you read the entire bill?

  • @Benjaminb46 and i supposed you ate 2 eggs with a glass of juice this morning?

if your cant give substance to your disagreement , shut up. Btw, the info i got from the bill was from an independent site that read the bill for the rest of us.

  • @restlys "if your cant give substance to your disagreement , shut up" WOW HA! youre one to talk!!!!! Oh and you believe what you were told? Wow ... conformist liberal :\ sickening

  • @Benjaminb46 omg good point, you obviously are the superior one since you dont believe anything you are told...you have no beliefs.

    your such a non-conformist conservative...so superior.

    - btw still no substance, do i need to explain to you what substance is? maybe we should start there, let me know

  • @restlys No i just dont believe anything the liberals tell me since they clearly suck at politics. I believe Alex Jones as should you.

    Im pretty sure you should.

  • @Benjaminb46 stop generalizing

i believe alex jones on alot of issues, i disagree with him on alot of others. the truth value of a claim is not determined by the voice you hear it from

learn to check alternative sources, and never ever have a single voice that you consider to be the sole truth....i.e. dont tell me that alex jones is godsend and i should be his sheep.

  • @restlys I DO though. Ever heard of Gerald Celente? Jessie Ventura? Bob Chapman? Glenn Beck? Ron Paul? All great ppl with different outlooks.

And Alex Jones is a voice of truth. You would be wise to listen to him. I know he sounds like a whack job and believe me iv had my doubts on him too, but hes like a Nostradamus. (Not really but you get the point)

  • we'll stop once they offer something, like a bill of their own. they have OFFERED NOTHING. thousands of americans are suffering due to recission and denial of coverage and the republicans have no ideas other than to lie about a bill that has problems on its own. i repeat, they have offered nothing.

i and others like me will continue to say the republicans are against reform until they actually come up with a goddamn idea.

  • @nerdarinites

They don't need your bank account. They have your social security number.

  • The American electoral system is badly in need of reform.

    Forget healthcare.

  • There is no power to the people (more like polls to the people). And republicans run less by traditional values, than they are sheep.

Turks of Rebel headquarters, you guys are amazing.

  • a list showing all other obstructionist against Health Care Reform for the American ppl. THen we'll just see how long they stay in office!!!

  • The insurance companies know they have been jipping the American ppl and are scared their little scheme will come to an end and their CEOs are throwing millions of $s at lobbiests to pay off these crooked Democrats and a majority of Repubs to vote against health care reform. These sons of bitches have taken enough of our money already. First from the bail out and now they want us to keep paying these fat cats. I say we should expose them. EVryone on washing. against health care ref. be put on

  • isn't medicare govt run? And isn't medicare a huge success? Gee I wonder y we can't have an option for the American ppl to turn to when they get ripped off by big insurance companies. Why are the insurance companies afraid of a public option? Their custormers are not going to be forced to have it, they can keep their own plan. Hey, I mean if competition and capitalism is so good y would their customers leave and go for the public option? Its b/c the insurance companies are scared.

  • I am a veteran (USMC 1973-1976).

VA is government run. The employees of VA Hospital are FEDERAL employees, who get paid every two weeks, which means I don't get bill for a $1000 band aid. Doctors do not have to clear it with ANYBODY when I need a procedure done.

Before I became really sick and unable to work, I had private health insurance. It took forever to get approved for the slightest thing. Why, the insurance co. was between me and my doctor!

  • @chgosatrap I am also a veteran (WVARNG 2000-06, activated 2003-04), and I get partial VA benefits (only for things that are directly related to my tour of duty), and I know that when I had to go to a private hospital for tonsillitis two years ago, I had to fight for months in order to get the insurance company to pay for it.

I have also seen the waiting for people without health insurance for surgeries, so no one can tell me how wonderful private insurance is.

  • @wvu05

Hi WV, just wanted to say hi and welcome home. Glad you made it back! Hope all is well for you and yours.

    diane

  • The reason the republicans want to slow down is because congress passed the stimulus package in less than a week and it really has not done much to help the economy...the unemployment rate is climbing to 10%. So far it has not worked to this date...it may in the future but not now it hasnt worked. So to say the republicans want to only kill the bill is ignorant on your part sir. Don't be so accusatory of another party without actually thinking of other possibilities. damn fool.

  • This video is dishonest. A "public option" is not really an option or fair competion, because it has the unlimited funds of the govt to drive out private insurers. The irony is that this chump uses poll-tested phrases to call out other poll-tested phrases. What a joke.

  • Poll tested phrases? Like what.

    What a joke?

    O' the irony.

  • "Public option" has been poll tested; it is a talking point of the left on every cable news and Sunday show. Watch them when u get a chance. Now I don't mind that some words r poll-driven but it is disingenuous them out on 1 side by using a phrase that is equally poll-tested. Besides, "public option" is completely dishonest. It will drive out private insurance because of endless government subsidies. The end game here is to have single-payer socialized health care...just be honest about it.

  • "Besides, "public option" is completely dishonest. It will drive out private insurance"

That was a blatant contradiction, yet you went and typed it out anyway.

You're exactly right, the "public option" is driven for the PUBLIC not the PRIVATE INSURERS

    That isn't dishonest at all.

Why would anyone take you seriously when you can't make a point without being consistently self-contradictory?

  • Apparently u don't pay attention to what the President & his supporters have said. The left has said ad nauseum that if u like ur present day health insurance u can keep it...all they r offering is a "public option." This I argue is incomplete, because they know that when you offer something for free many will simply drop their private insurance. Private insurers will not be able to compete, because the govt has endless, limitless subsidies. So it is not fair competitive capitalism.

  • U prove my point. The Dems are lying. They know that a "public option" will be the end of private health insurance. You may think that's a good thing and that's fine...argue that point, but don't be dishonest that with the backing of the federal govt. purse strings, that public and private insurers will co-exist and all is fair.

  • No, that's simply not true. You need to listen to what they are saying more closely. They are saying that the public option, once becoming an option, will force the private sector to compete more fairly; meaning that they'll be forced to change their policies, and be more fair to the consumer instead of their obscenely rich CEO's. Some may go out of business, but not because they couldn't compete, but because they were too stubborn to compete.

  • Yes, I understand that is the theory. But in reality it is not fair competition, because the govt option has limitless funds. No private company can compete with that. Our Health System undoubtedly has flaws (high costs, the uninsured of which I am because I choose to be) but the remedy is not socialized health care. But ur mistaken if u think it will force the private sector to compete more fairly. The result will be the end of the private sector in health care.

  • Limitless funds? Why would they want to put the private sector out of business? That just adds more weight and pressure on the government, something they really need off them right now. And just to show you how it's not going to be limitless at all, explain why medicare isn't limitless.

  • Please answer me this one question...who would you bet on to survive...a private company who must make a profit to stay in business or the federal govt who has hundreds of millions of taxpayers as financial cover and does not care if they make a profit or not? This is a stepping stone to single payer socialized health care. Now if u support that, fine. Go ahead, debate that in the marketplace of ideas, but please don't be dishonest and say this is not a govt takeover of health care.

  • Also, you haven't answered by question with medicare. They don't cover everything, and they don't have limitless funds, and they haven't driven the private industry out of business.

  • Medicare is only for people over 65, that's fine, no one argues against safety nets, but they don't cover everything & they're still becoming insolvent. I would use the example of the post office...no one can compete with them b/c it's not profitable. I know some people want to make the drug companies the boogey man & where abuses occur they should be curtailed, but the fact is they save lives & with the cost just to get a product on the market, they need incentives to produce & innovate.

  • Medicare is 35 billion in the hole...it is a disaster just like broke social security. Can govemrent do better with a much larger nationalized healthcare?

    Come on.

  • Wait, I'm confused. What do you mean that no one can compete with the post office?

There's UPS, Fed X as obvious choices. Infact, I just googled "mailing companies", and I got a bunch of non-government run companies in a google/maps option. Try it. There are more than you would think.

Yes, government have funds, but they don't use control everything and they don't want to.

  • And another example of a government run program that will be looking to the private industry to innovate and improve, and find better more efficent ways than the gov could is what they are doing with the NASA space shuttle. They are now going to scrap the shuttle, and allow the free market to create their own designs from competing companies, or companies working together, and find a more cost effective, and much more efficient shuttle.

  • What about UPS, Fedex, and DHL? Although they do not do the day to day mail, don't they compete with the USPS?

  • You're partially right, but they are only overnight services. And all 3 run more efficiently and still turn a profit. USPS is losing billions and will be closing many locations. All govt services and programs run at a loss, so the argument that the President and the Dems are making that the health care reform will be budget neutral is simply not honest. All of these programs start with good intentions and fiscal projections that later turn into a financial and social mess.

  • USPS has competition i.e. FEDEX, UPS, etc. so if the USPS goes under its actually a good thing, put an OPTION up that may be worth it, if it doesnt work the consumer will sytematically work it out of the system. hence, a public health insurance OPTION is the same thing.

  • Like I said above this is only partially true..FedEx, UPS r overnight services, they do not deliver the mail. No one could compete with the govt subsidies that the US Postal service recieves and they run at a huge loss, which is usually not good for a business...ur example is not aplicable here...all govt programs run at a loss and have the power of the govt purse..that's not fair competion...its govt encroachment on our freedoms. Choose freedom, not govt regulation.

  • @ChairmanKiel ah so you're stalking me on here also! Well, sorry to

burst your little gay bubble, but I'm 100% heterosexual. Besides, me being a grown man, and not a 12 year old boy,

would most probably fail to excite your little spaghetti dick anyway.

Go try the walt disney channel!

  • @deckardesunamierda

??????????? WHAT? Dude, I'm checking out where you posted these, and I did this like a year ago. I don't even remember making it.

I wasn't stalking you. I was confused as to why you started attacking me on my channel, so I went to youtube comment search, and found you (since your channel isn't visible), so I could directly ask you what the hell you want, and why you were attacking me.

I called you a fuck face, because that's how you were acting towards me.

  • Why would they want to put out the private sector? Because Dems and people of the left villanize companies, capitalism and profits. They villanize something that has flaws and then make it worse by having the government step in and run everything. And no matter what it loses the govt will cover it and if doesn't lose it will mean less coverage than u have now. This will end private insurance forever and if ur honest about it u acknowledge that fact and argue if that is good or bad.

  • No. Come on, don't use generalizations. You are trying to call all Dems basically tree hugging corporate hatting government loving naturalists, and that's just simply not true. That would be like me saying that Republican's are all greedy corporate lovers who only care about their special interest groups, and have no morals what soever.

You can do better than that.

  • Generalizations r fine IF and WHEN they are accurate, just read a majority of the comments here. The left is emotional when it comes to business and profits. It doesn't like the thought of them. But you're right, lots of Dems do believe in free market capitalism and that's why this bill will not pass. But I must say, I really do appreciate how u debate respectfully, it is rare to comment on a liberal video and not have someone curse at you or be vile. So refreshing. i just wish more were like u.

  • : ) well thank you for your complement. I find your willingness to remain civil and polite despite our disagreements a very good show of your character. It's easy for me to lose my composure when someone makes it apparent they will resort to ad hominem arguments, instead of debating the issue at hand. Thank you.

  • If 70% of Americans wanted the Health Reform, and all of the Senate, Congress, and the President himself are all Democrats, then why does it not get passed?

Oh thats right because this idiot is LYING to you. Half of America doesn't want reform and the politicians in D.C. don't want it either. The Dems control everything, doesn't matter what the GOP says, they are the TRUE PARTY OF NO.

  • The Young Turd...

    Sold Out Obamanite....

  • sold out? how is he sold out? he bringing facts to you and hes a sell out? why dont you do your own research and find out who the real sell outs are. Conservatives are in the back pocket of the heatlhcare companies and this guy is the sell out? please.

  • Young Turd????

  • Maybe one of the poll questions should be ' what is 2 +2 ?' cos i'd expect a majority to have no idea.

  • what is 2 +2 ?'

It is an equation involving addition of single digit numbers. If one were to perform the addition of 2+2, say, having 2 items, and adding 2 more items. one would find oneself with a total of 4 items.

And THAT is how the (Ging)grinch stole health care reform!

  • If the government subsidizes healthcare with taxpayer money, how will the "competing companies continue to compete? When they cut cost by 5%, 10%, 20%, at what point do they put the private sector out of business and how long would it take? I think the public option is a bait and switch if you look passed today. Maybe a few states should adopt Dennis K. proposal to test the waters before we all jump in. That sounds a little wiser.

  • Massachusetts already has, isn't a disaster. And so is Canada's system. Have you seen this video?

    watch?v=q2jijuj1ysw

  • By now, even the public option (which is a comprimise to begin with away from Single-Payer) has been trimmed down to something resembling the prescription drug benefit.

  • So why do you sound the same as everybody else too? How do you sound any different from the commentators on NPR, Air America and MSNBC? You worship Obama, a central government takeover (NWO) and cloak in the truth in partial lies and complete lies. You're part of the mass media, therefore you're part of the problem.

  • Do you think Medicare and the VA are "Government Takeover" insurance options? What makes me sick is the GOP is all against this healthcare public option thing, but don't have the balls to repeal Medicare and the VA. When the CEO of Blue Cross/Blue Shield is making $200,000 a DAY and people are dying, time for the government to step in, don't ya think? We were devastated on the loss of life on 9/11, but don't think twice about the people that die due to lack of coverage. It is criminal!

  • Yes, people's lives are at stake. Many will lose there lives when martial law breaks out, being shot to death. Citizens will starve in FEMA camps. If the government is allowed to take over the whole healthcare industry, they will own nearly every major business in this country. All this is criminal. The government killed many on 9/11, the CIA has killed thousands and will kill thousands more with swine flu vaccines.

  • The government runs healthcare in Canada, and surprise surprise, we don't have all the fucked up shit you do down there.

  • What is with Canadians and their inferiority complex to US citizens? Jealous this country has a rich history of freedom and unique civil rights?

  • Inferior? I'm pretty sure you must watch Fox, if you think that's what my comment meant.

  • You are spewing the SAME bullshit arguements that were stated when they introduced Medicare! There are deaths EVERY time an immunization or vaccine is administered. That is the price we pay. About 5 years ago, I didn't get a flu shot and got the flu that turned into spinal meningitis. Was in the hospital for a week. So, stop the fear shit, we have heard it all before! Reading your blogs is proof that every village has an idiot!

  • What argument? I only said canadians have an inferority complex.

  • FOOL

  • the news is too fucking biased...is there anything inbetween...i watch abc, cnn etc. and its... obama is our savior! we love you obama! and dont even mention wat hes doing...fox news (the only conservattive station leaves out facts that make every situation seem as if the world is coming to an end because the democrats are in power...im a right wing conservative, and i think there should be some news station that ONLY gives the facts and NO opinions, or bias...

  • Here's how it works. The Family/Fellowship successfully works to make sure that the government is run for the powerful as a mandate from God.

The Republicans support this agenda by making the US people despair of any real solutions from government. Corps/lobbyists will win every time.

  • We have the best healthcare in the world that a select few can afford. The problem lies in who holds the money and rations out care. (The hmo's). Since the hmo's cherry pick who's covered and who isn't inhumanely, they have caused the need for reform. Any politition in bed with the current hmo's and drug companies needs to be hung out to dry by the media! Let everyone know who is corrupting our healthcare system. Check out BILL MOYER"S JOURNAL interview with WENDEL POTTER (ex ceo of CIGNA)

  • Politics is like sucking dick. In order to get into office, you suck a lot of dick to get there. The man who sucks the most dick usually wins. When you get in office, the people whose dick you sucked are now sucking your dick to pursuade you to pass a bill that they want.

So, if you like getting your dick sucked by men you should be a politician.

  • EITHER WAY, THE HEALTH CARE REFORM IS OVER 1K + pages LONG AND NONE OF YOU STUPID FUCKS REALLY KNOW what it really reads, in fact you cry and cry about this BS I really dotn give a fuck if your rich or poor, the fact her is you are all being robbed some more for something that aint going to happen.! OMG! THE RICH WILL PAY 2% more taxes if they make over a Million dollars a year! LMAO but the reality is in the rest of the pages, flip them over and read the package! DUMB ASSES, you been hacked.

  • why wouldn't people want cheaper healthcare. The republicans are sticking to their talking points about "government run healthcare".These guys have no shame, the people that are standing in the way of true, healthcare reform are the insurance companies. That's why the cost are so high for consumers and the profit margins for them is SOOO high. Why would anybody support that.

  • Why would anyone want to go to Iraq and lie to the public about whats really going on? answer that and I will answer your question, that is if you seriously don't know why people wouldn't want cheaper health care..

  • What's got one wheel and flies?

    An Ethiopian on a unicycle!

  • who and what is Ethiopian?

  • An Ethiopian is a native of the country of Ethiopia, located in Eastern Africa.

  • Libtards are so ethnocentric!

  • Fantastic joke MrBeefmuncher, even if I do say so myself!

  • "we have the best health care in the world"

Left out is the important qualifier...

"we have the best health care in the world, THAT MONEY CAN BUY!"

If you don't have the money, or the best insurance that won't burn your ass when it comes time to pay up (check out bankruptcies caused by health issues!)....it's rather irrelevent to have the best health care, if you can't afford it!

That is the real issue facing America, and some major reform is sorely needed.

  • In all due fairness Cenk, it's not the Republicans that is about to kill this HealthCare plan, it's fuckin DEMOCRATS in the House and Senate! The Republicans are saying their words to stop it, but it's DEMOCRATS actions that is currently killing the bill! That's why Republicans always walk all over Democrats, because of fuckin pussy-ass shit like this!

  • Yes, it is the democrats, commiting political suicide by killing the bill. But, if the republicans were to be intelligent and vote for the dang bill, it would definitely pass. If both the democrats and republicans can grow a brain, they will pass healthcare reform.

  • It seems they are trying to defeat HealthCare Reform by talking about Professor Gates incident too death, with Obama's first response to it!The media has been beating us over the head with this story so much that I'm shocked to find out, America killed Bin Laden's elder son in a air raid, but no one is talking about it!

  • I LOVE TYT =D

  • That is what I asked but not what you answered.

I asked if you were sick where would you rather be?

Not would you like to be sick, read before you post your response.

Read before you post your comment!!!

  • "...if you had to choose & knowing how the system works in Britian & the US where if you had to choose would you rather be sick?"

that is what you wrote. that is what i answered. i have another converstation going on with a person that although we don't agree seems not to be confused as you appear. we may disagree but they are not disagreeable. have a nice life marty.

  • I was not ''confused'' by my question or your answer I wanted to know why you made up your own question to answer,

I asked a very simple question that took you 20 mins to answer, you chose to post a comment that had nothing to do with my question.

    Why?

  • you asked a question and i answered. now if you were confused by my answer or by your question i don't know. either way we will not solve this problem on this form. that is why i write and call my reps in congress, write to the blue dogs and am active in anyway to make this thing happen. good conversation. i am in ny where are you? good luck to you.

  • No need just keep it simple for yourself & try not to make up questions that you would rather answer, just answer what you are asked.

I would hate for you to get mixed up.

  • i was trying to keep it simple for you.

  • Dihi548,

It took you a very long time for you to answer.

The question was & I hoped you would understand a simple question, not would you like to be sick- but if you were sick where would you rather be Britain or here? I am thankful you have already answered because it took you such a long time to put your answer up.

  • sorry marty2621 but it was stupid. 2 ask if i would rather be sick here or in the uk comparing each system. in the uk i could go 2 the drs, clinics, specialist without a problem. just make an appointment. here you check with the primary, get a referral, then the insurance co. ok's or denys your treatment or claim. in the uk you get if you don't have money. here you just might die if you don't have money. is that a better answer to your question?

  • Dihi548,

It is not a stupid question, I I did not ask if you would like to be sick. It was a simple question.

You gave your answer not very well but you gave a answer.

It was not a us vs them which you seemed to take it as.

  • slightly stupid question. no one chooses 2 be sick. reg care would make that less likely. problem is 2 get reg care without a hassle. 4 your answer it would be the uk but why would i want 2 do that when we live here? i am an american first with brit privilages true but why should i have 2 go anywhere? we are 37th on the list of 50 countries. are you cool with that? i'm not

  • Where has Neil gone I know he was asked a question but I was not expecting him to run away!!!

  • Dihi548,

Hard question for you, if you had to choose & knowing how the system works in Britain & the U.S . where if you had to choose would you rather be sick ?????????????????

  • i'm very lucky that my family does not get sick often. i have ended with some crap drs then get chared for going out of network. this happens cause you call the help line to complain they give you some drs names then you find that you are out of network even as you got the names from them. bogus crap so they get more money.

  • OKrusnik0.

What do you mean if you get cancer you are dead?

    Do you not get treatment?

Could you not go private if you wish ?

If you cannor afford to go private will Healthcare not cover you ?

  • i have had 4 diff insurers in 5 yrs as they claim that listed drs take the plans then you find that they don't after the plan starts. i called each of my drs to make certain they took these plans. when i showed the new cards they said yes we take bl cross but not that plan. then you can't cancel until open enrolment so you are now ripped off for a year. now explain again why our healthcare is better? i think they all use the same list to sucker folks.

  • Neil,

What about private insurance in your view do they always look out for people,or do they try not to cover people with illness.

The rates that you quoted please tell me where I can get them(not google it) where can I find them.

  • yes i have lived in the uk & i never had a problem with healthcare. i would perfer a public option & it would be very good thing. capitalism has proven to be toxic for healthcare. va, ss, medicaid, medicare may seem socialist but they work

  • Neil you are repeating talking points,

What do you me when you ask

''so you want government to manage you''

  • Hi Dihi548,

Hope I don't appear rude but I would like to ask you since you have a very good perspective :

Do you think the public option & health reform in general is a good or bad thing ? & did you ever live in Britain & if so what is your view on our healthcare , I know that is alot to ask but I am very interested.

  • va sucks cause bush cut funding. ss is hurting cause bush borrowed against those funds. how about part d that ripped folks off 4 perscriptions even more. lets not get it twisted. unless there are specialists that are rare no one comes here for healthcare. they go 2 canada, england, & france. boobs, lipo & tummy tucks 2 brazil & columbia.

  • Neil where in the health care bill does it say the federal government will have control of the healthcare system ???????

I know I know you have been told that will happen (it's not true) its not in the bill , the fact that you think this will happen is a sad reflection on you.

You just belive what you are told & do not ask questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

''We can not afford it'' is not a true , we can afford it. The fact is most people cannot afford not to have it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • universal health care - government controlled.

    who will control it?

    insurance companies?

most people can afford insurance - most people choose not to have it. the people that do have health insurance have bloated premiums, and the rest rely on the state.

we spend the 2nd most on health care per capita of any nation on earth.

money isnt a problem, management is.

so u want the government to manage you?

    really?

  • my hubby is a brit & they have universal healthcare & they have private insurance. if you need a hip replaced you might wait 3 mos but if you go private you might be moved up to half that time. this is cause all specialists must do time in public hospitals. i belive that the differance in the set fee from the gov & the xtra is what you pay. rich folk pay 45% in taxes & don't care. this is for the good of all. people not profits matter.

  • Doug who are these people you are talking about that come here.

If the Brits cannot pay for healthcare THEY GET IT FOR FREE & prepare yourself it is called SOCIAL WELLFARE AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

This may come as another shock Brits do not come here for treatment , you have been fed it time & time again & you swallow & repeat , try not to just repeat talking point,Question them, just because you are told something does not mean it is true!!!!!!

  • Actually survial rates in those countries is higher then it is here...in fact in England a poor brit lives longer and has better access to healthcare then a rich american. The world health organization ranks the USA 37th worldwide...So where's all this "we got the best healthcare in the world coming from?

  • Hi health care insurance people:

I hate you with ever cell of mu being. I will oppose you until the end of time. I hope all of you get sick and die because no one will take care of you. My mother almost died because you assholes wouldn't cover her. I wish you a long painful death. Everyone of you. I cannot describe in words how much I hate you.

  • The Young Jerks

  • boo

  • For how long do you think we will able to keep our private coverage? Don't you think employers will dump coverage to save money?

If you want this your and idiot watch?v=q2jijuj1ysw

  • You know what happened to GM? A large part of that was the healthcare costs. In fact, they moved a lot of plant to Windsor Ontario in order to save on healthcare costs, as Canada has universal coverage.

Universal healthcare is a GOOD THING for most employers. It brings DOWN the price of healthcare.

  • GM had huge retiree and employee obligations which added $2000 to the price of a new car.

Toyota builds cars in the US while only adding $300 to the price for employee benefits.

Look how the government has managed the border.

Social security and medicare are bankrupt. Do you really want he governement managing your healthcare?

How are we going to pay for this?

This is nothing but a huge power grab an excuse to tax the hell out of us. It's communism.

    Have you seen this? watch?v=q2jijuj1ysw

  • Except that the GM employee obligations included UNDERFUNDED HEALTH CARE PLANS FOR RETIREES.

Meaning they were paying for the healthcare for those who built all of the Chevrolets and Oldsmobiles and Pontiacs going back to the 1950s or so out of TODAY'S turnover, because the cost of health insurance was going up.

In Australia, the government does FINE with healthcare. Single payer, I go to the doctor, the government pays the doctor. Not communism.

  • how much taxes are you paying?

  • I am working casual, so it varies.

    HOWEVER:

My employer does not have to pay for insurance. Which means my employer has fewer overheads.

I do not have to pay for insurance.

I would far rather give money to the government for my healthcare than to insurance companies which are there for one reason and one reason alone - profit.

And if I choose to get better healthcare than single payer provides, I can go to an insurance company and it STILL costs far less than in the US.

  • far less paying high taxes AND BUYING INSURANCE?

  • damn this guys spreads more dis info than FOX news

  • Thankyou Young Turks you speak so much TRUTHS

  • cenk should talk about his ideas on a free health care system as observed in my country Australia and i guess clkoser to the U.S Canada

  • We must work to DEFEAT the current Health Care proposals in Congress.

The problem now is that the Health Care Insurance Companies are sucking BILLIONS out of the economy & the proposals in Congress only allow them to suck out BILLONS more.

We must go to a SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM, even if we only do it slowly by taking certain age groups at a time..

  • In the political wack-a-mole game, TYT wacks the Republican mole again, right on the head..

  • I was in Michigan for a whle, and what a crock, All the money I paid for auto insurance, "just in case" ( I learned from working at GEICO), and Michigan's no-fault laws screwed me big time.

  • My question is the same as it has always been since the Democrats brought up reform. If employer provided health insurance is the best system then where are all the corporations and business organizations? Why aren't they supporting the insurance industry? The President needs to start with renegotiating Bush's prescription drug plan with the pharma folks. If they don't like it remove the patent protection they benefit from in this country.

  • there is so much dis information on this topic its on real. to try and simplify it is just dishonest.but i will say this fore bad or good. ones the government has it there will be no going back. so be car full what you wish fore.

  • un Sin 1000, you are teh one giving the disinformation. If the "government" ran the health care system directly nyone with money could still buy the extra insurance for anything the "government" didn't cover. The truth is that today "the government" is controlled by corporations who don't want change. TYT is brilliant at exposing the Republican-neo-fascist lies.

  • Common sense is non-existent in B.O's admin. The Chicago way is to spend as much taxpayer money as possible while claiming it's a huge savings. Budgets mean nothing to democraps. Mayor Daley is constantly lying about what things actually cost by the time they're finished, after paying off all this criminal cronies. Same thing with Oblama, who learned Chicago Politrics from Emil Jones, the most corrupt of them all.

  • I've always been amazed at how gullable the American public is. A few talking heads come on T.V., say a few sentences that push their own agenda, and will ultimately not benifit the american people and are mostly false but Americans believe it anyway and in doing so vote against common logic and actually defeat themselves. That is truly amazing.

  • Yeah americans are dumber than shit, especially those who live in the south

  • wow, way to generalize an entire country

  • Hey... those who are BORN in the south...(cough)

  • The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 29% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11.

    C'ya Muslim boy!

  • You're reading a teleprompter, stop acting like you know what you're talking about.

How could this be budget neutral, when we are trying to insure 47 million uninsured?

We have a shitty plan, and it is a fight within the democratic party that is stopping this... They have a heavy majority in the Senate and the House.

  • The Repubs have great health care that is paid for by taxpayers.

If we can get health care reform, wonder what we can do about the rip-off auto insurance companies (many of whom also are HC providers)? If you haven't been a victim of a no-fault insurance state, you won't know what I mean.

  • I live in a no-fault state. All you need to file a claim is a police report showing it's not your fault. It's a $15 filing fee.

  • I lived in a no-fault state, and was permanently injured in an accident (SUV driver came into my lane head-on). I will spare you the awful details, but trust me, it is the victim who loses in no-fault.

  • PS - And I left that state and came back home.

  • i think they did when it happened months and months ago. I think...though, I might have seen it elsewhere.

  • TYT why are you not covering the story about michael savage being banned from britain solely for political reasons??

  • TYT already covered Michael Savage's ban. watch?v=YXejTWxV9mk (Michael Savage Banned From The U.K.!!!)

  • Good example, if there wasn't a government options for mailing and shipping; you would have to pay UPS/FEDEX $27 to air mail a letter rather than $0.44 with the Govt postal system option.

  • People we must slow down ...

We mustn't rush into this ...

We must give it time ...

We must think about it some more ...

    What's the hurry ...

*** They said these things when Harry Truman tried to propose a program similiar to Barack's and that was OVER 50 YEARS AGO.

The time will never be right for the insurance companies.

  • Obama forget Health care take care of crooks on Wall Street first

  • The headline is ungrammatical. Politics is singular, not plural. You correctly used it as a singular but the headline is wrong.

  • AnotherCuppa -

It's off-topic, but actually "politics" can be used as a singular or plural.

There is nothing wrong with the way it's used in the heading or comments.

  • 6:10 Why shouldn't we slow down and make sure we aren't making a big mistake? i just unsubscribed

  • obama's shit will cover illegal immigrants

  • you ARE an illegal immigrant...almost everyone on this continent is. we came over on boats from england, shot all the natives that weren't already dying from the diseases we brought over with us and raped the rest. but we called ourselves "SETTLERS" and when someone else wants to come over we call them something much much worse, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! its funny how history is slanted like that...but i guess you can't spell 'history' without 'story', and man, our tail is SO tall.

  • First, my father was half Cherokee. So you can cram your guilt trip.

Second WE didn't do anything to anyone. What was done was done by others to others generations ago.

Third ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS don't want to be here because they had an ancestor some where on this continent 500 years ago. They wish to participate in what was done to the native United States citizens.(a group of which they aren't members)They seek to profit from it.

Any (Indian) will tell you they don't want them here either.

  • what i'm saying isn't about guilt trips or 500 year old ancestory, it's about quality of life. if the US was a third world country and canada was 100% better, you would be a dirty boarder hopper too. thier situation is too shitty and they need help, they want to give their childern a chance to make something of themselves and they should be helped, not treated sub-human. basically what i'm saying is: how would you feel? what would you do if you were in their shoes?

  • Not about a guilt trip huh? Both your comments are railing accusations of inhumanity, If this was their country they would feel exactly the same way. Why should we sacrifice our nation's prosperity because their country is poor? They are far from starving. They just lack our luxuries. I don't hate these people and I fully understand why they invade our country. Bringing them here and ruining this country won't fix their problems. If we want to help them we need to find ways to help them there.

  • it's not about guilt tripps. there's right and there's wrong. "fix their problems", thats going to be pretty impossible considering their goverment is fucked up and guess wht, "they" aren't going to ruin the US the only people that are going to fuck it up is the US government.. but lets look at a country that doesn't have such strick laws when it comes to immigration, Canada. Canada has races from all over the world, this makes the country stronger, kinder, cultured and happier. not fearful.

  • Their government is their problem.

    Canada isn't being invaded.

I agree that the government is likely to ruin this nation with taxation and spending. But if you think that allowing an increase in population of 1% yearly. With the importation of millions of spanish speaking poor, low skilled, low educated welfare recipients. Won't hasten the destruction of this nation. Much less rewarding and encouraging their invasion with the open borders you advocate. You really need to rethink your theory.

  • it would be hard to collect welfare when you don't have a state ID, actually impossible. so the idea of them feeding off tax payers dollars goes out the window. you may want to rethink your theory. moreover, from my perspective calling them lazy (wannabe) welfare bums is alittle unfair, that would be like me saying the cherokee are just a bunch of lazy indians that don't want to work and peddle cigarettes for extra cash and huff gasoline all day. no very nice is it?

  • I don't recall calling them lazy. And can you say anchor baby?

  • what?
