  • This one shot rule on this range annoys me so much I have not gone back there since the last time many years ago.

  • My stepdad has an older verison of this rifle, in 30-06. The barrel is the shortest thing ive ever seen, the handloads he shoots have to be shot from a bench rest if not your shoulders gona be blown to hell after the first few shots

  • Penfold, Whats the max accurate range with that?

  • @Nemarluk no you cant it will never shoot accurate enought to sight it in and it probily blow up in your hand while your shooting it after the first shot

  • I know this rifle doesn't come in .300 Win Mag, but is there any chance of getting it in .308 or .30-06 and converting it to .300 Win Mag. I'm a huge .300 WM fan

  • Sorry mate I'm not a gun smith so I'm not really the person to ask if it can be converted to 300 win mag. I can vouch that the 30-06 is a spectacular calibre and accuracy/stopping power over distance is impressive. My mantra has been sticking to the most common calibres as they are mainstream (not that 300 win mag isn't) and have vast supplies available of ammo at good prices.

  • @Nemarluk

Yes it does come in 30-06, thats what we're shooting in the video, Remington 7600, it also comes in .308 as well as .223rem known as the 7615p, I have one of them too and probably like it better that the 7600.

  • What category license do you need to buy a Remington 7600 is it b or c.

  • @Nemarluk

In Oz the Remington 7600 is a cat B. Cat C is semi automatic/ pump shot guns etc. and you just about have to be the chief of ASIO to get one these days. As crying shame for responsible shooters passionate about there sport, I know! Professional hunters have them etc. but us common folk, well,....no chance! Enjoy

  • TheGunsDoKillPeople .What guns are you referring to?These guns are sporting arms,used for hunting fast-moving game.Hardly a machine gun,is it?No&why should Australia suffer more bans for?Haven't they &us in GB,suffered enough,with bullshit pc legislation?Concealed carry license things?Don't u mean small handguns?By the way,not all gun-toting psychos are rednecks,some are townsfolk,like the Hungerford&Dunblane killers,were.

  • Australia needs to ban these guns because they are machine guns and Australia doesnt need another redneck maniac to go out and kill lots of people. Here in America most legal gun owners loves to go out and kill so many people with their concealed carry license things.

  • Clueless beyond question! To a point that I, and other Youtube viewers may even feel embarrassed for you. Its a pump action NOT a machine gun, Haha! If you had even the slightest idea theres a chance it would stand out. The biggest problem is that ill-informed clueless Neanderthals like you are voting and breeding. I can only find humor in your ignorance. LOL! Best head back to Burger King now because its clear youve never seen the inside of a University.

  • Benochi, OK yes I may stand corrected on this. It is the moving parts or more importantly the tolerances between those moving parts that cause inaccuracy amongst a multitude of other things. Some single shot rifles still have moving parts others don't depending on design. I have not done extensive testing as a comparison betweent the two. The Canadian military uses bolt actions and have the record for the longest confirmed kill in Afghastan. 2450meters AMAZING! Splitting hairs I'm sure

  • I have a stupid question I think you could help me on; what rifle action is generally the most accurate?

  • The only stupid question is one never asked. Without doubt a bolt action is the most accurate. Almost all sniper rifles that care not to comprise accuracy are bolt action. That is not to say many semi's, pumps, levers etc are not accurate but absolute perfection (tiny group) over distance is the domain of the bolt. Hope this answers.

  • @penfold357007

    Thanks so much

  • @penfold357007

Actually, single shot rifles are more accurate than bolt action rifles.

  • @bencanon2

Yes true, but they are just crap.

  • It's ashame that Australia doesn't have the right to bear arms, when I truly know that Aussies are such outdoorsmen as some Americans are. You also have every right to defend yourself. Best of wishes to you and your country penfold.

  • Agreed! Unfortunatly it wasn't written into our constitution like in the USA.

  • why one bullet at a time

  • It's just a crappy rule that the range enforces. So called safety issue from the semi days that can ensure no surprises in the chamber. Rubbish if you ask me but just the range.

  • Freedom of speech? and freedom to vote? don't vote and you get fined! make any public comment about the so cold 6 million jews that were gassed and you will see your self being a long term guest of the oz government. The USA had gun rights, the government is taking steps to strip the common man of their weapons, the constitution has been over ruled a few times since 9/11! Hmm did I mention the jew thing before? Both the USA and Oz used to be free, whats next?

  • Hmmm,......a little OTT don't you think?

  • hello, do you know if you can get 10rd magazines for this rifle and if so are they legal?

  • The largest capacity I have seen for the 7600 in 30-06 is 9rds. I also have a 7615p in .223 and they come in 10rd. They are the same magazine used in the AR15 and M16 so high cap. is very common. Available in the US is 10rd, 20rd 30rd (most common) and of course the much loved beta mag 100rds.

  • 1. No there are heaps of pump actions on the market. I might be a bit bias but I think this one is one of the best. 2. Rounds, but that I assume you mean what calibre do they come in. I have this rifle in 30-06 and .223 Remington. They also come in .308. Check the Remington website for the exact details.

    3. The 7615p is about AUD$1650 from Aussie gun dealers. Don't pay any more than this. The model 7600 may even be cheaper.

    Thanks for your comments

  • Clearly I'm not 14 so I must confess I am not up with age restrictions. I am pleased our younger generation is actively participating in the shooting sports. Thank you for clearing this up for me and others who have posted comments and who read yours. Best of luch with your shooting.

  • I hope you do. You wont regret your purchase if you buy a Remington. 7615p is also a top Remington shooter too, just if you're not that keen on 30cal. Thanks for your comments

  • The action is fantastic. Very smooth. I am very impressed with Remington rifles. They are not over the top expensive but they do make a wonderful rifle for the money. 45-70 is a classic calibre. Next on the Xmas list I think. Thank you for your comments

  • Good point. I might consider this. In typical fashion it is run by old men who think they are god. EVERY! range I have ever been to SO needs some young blood to minimise the politics. That does not mean be careless and lessen safety. Just to take the massive rod out of their ass and WAKE UP to themselves. Thanks for your comments

  • 7615p is a fav of mine. Top rifle. Far more accurate over short to medium distance (200-400m) than I ever expected from this short barrelled carbine style rifle. Thanks for your comments

  • No not at all. I would have a gunsmith check that out if I were you. That does not seem right. Thanks for you coments

  • Australia used to be a good country where a man could defend himself and his family against criminals and the threat of tyranny, but no more. I bet your government officials have plenty of guns at their disposal to protect them and their families. The gun grab is comming to America next. Why? Because too many gun owners are too cheap and stupid to support pro gun groups like Gun owners of America, the NRA, JPFO etc. Fools! Joe Stalin once said "America will fall without a shot being fired"

  • Yes true. There is one VITAL difference that you may have overlooked that separates Australia and the United States. Like Aussies have the Freedom of Speach and freedom to vote, the USA has the "RIGHT" to keep and bear arms as instructed under its constitution. Note that Australians DO NOT have a bill of rights. Something that disgusts me! The right to keep and bear arms can only be over thrown through a constitutional vote to the best of my knowledge. Thank you so much for your comments

  • Hi Michael

You can hire rifles at Belmont. I have my own so I am not 100% sure what it costs to hire. Call the range & they will tell you. 22LR rifles are a great start and can be hired with a scope. I have one and is one of my very favourite rifles. AWESOME FUN! You can buy targets of pigs, cats goats or bullseye ring etc for about 50c - $1. The 30-06 might kick too much for a beginner,..hey it keeps me on my toes WOW! KICKS Hahah! Feel free to ask any questions & will try 2 answer Thanks M

  • Hi Michael,..

Thank you for your comments. You say you are 13 and would like to have a shoot. I am not totally sure but I think if you are 11 or 12 your can fire a gun. Almost certaintly you would have to be accompanied by a licenced shooter given your age. But awesome fun none the less. So great you are interested. If you can't take a parent, friend, older brother etc. you could ask other shooers nicely they will let you try their toys. I would be delight to let U shoot my rifle no problem. B

  • I have a 7600 in 30-06. I use it for hunting whitetail deer. It's an excellent gun. Like you said the recoil isn't really a problem, you only feel it when you're at the range anyway. My next rifle will be a model 700 VTR. I love those things.

  • im happy that these guns werent outlawed by fukin howard

  • yeah thank god

  • Yee-harr SSAA cowboys rule

  • 7600 in 30-06 has more stoping power and would be great for hunting Arrr! Anything! smaller than a Bulldozer??? Hhaha! Lets say has a small kick. It's hardly a problem but just gets annoying at the range. 7615p in .223 has less recoil. Could literally shoot it all day. Absolutely pleasure I would recomend the 7615p in .223 You say U are familiar with 308 I think there is little recoil difference between 30-06. 7600 & 7615p are both great fun so BUY BOTH! Hahah! Tight groups to you. B.

  • Yes you are correct I have done this my self but I still think it is a bit crap that you should have to ask a range officer to put more than 1 round through?? I am issued a licence & have a rough idea of the pointy end of a rifle yet they only say one round. CRAZY?? Many thanks for your comments. Tight groups to you. B.

  • The Remington 7600 is in 30-06 springfield calibre. Thank for your comments

  • Remington 7600 is a friggin good shooter.

I've got the .308 police model - shoots like a dream!

  • good gun for lefties

  • Yes. It is a right handers world lets face it.

  • At the SSAA range down shepparton victoria where i sometimes go to shoot we can pump them out as fast as we want. So im guessing it may not be a whole ssaa thing.

  • Just a crazy rule at Belmont I think. Thanks for your comments

  • Thanks for your comments ST. Not sure how wide spread but there is an area at Belmont where you can pump them out

  • Hey, nice pump rifle. Is "1 round at a time" policy "only" in Belmont range? Or is it a whole SSAA thing?

  • Nice one,...perhaps you can post a video on you tube of you using your new toy. They are a nice rifle aren't they?

  • haha nice! i have a 7615p and love it. OH 1 round a time policy sux balls!

  • Thanks for your comments. I also have a 7615p I prefer it to the 7600 30-06 Springfield as it has less recoil. They are a nice firearm. And yes, 1 rd at a time is so CRAP!

  • go down the other end guys and pump the thing fast

  • Thanks for the coments but unfortunatly our range has a single round at a time policy. Who knows why?? So ANNOYING!!! Thaks for looking.

  • At belmont? Don't they still have the area to the left of the benches where you can stand and let them rip?

  • so your in australia, are the gun laws as strict as they say? i couldn't imagine not having my guns or just loading one shot at a time. I like my 50 round mags and drums.

  • I would go with the 7615p for everyday shooting. Less kick and just nicer to shoot in general.
