Those pull ups are ugly. No jerky movement should be allowed as that is cheating. It is good to practice but to count and compare to others it should be a clean pull from dead hang.
The Marines now require dead-hang pullups and do not allow kipping. Kipping pullups can allow someone with very limited upper body strength to perform many pullups since it is more based on rhythm and momentum than strength. The only reason the USMC privates learned to kip was so that they could get the max 100 score on the PFT test for completing 20 pullups. For actual strength training, real pullups are far better.
are you serious, terrible nonsense you can obviously see if you were him those are the worst pullups in history.

pull ups means pulling your BW up, not kipping and cheating, now try dead hand and watch that number drop 99%

John Curd Edmunds could do 220 kipping pullups at age 65. That tells you something about how hard they are...

what's the big deal about 100 pullups? Easy to be done in 5 minutes à 4x25.
Don't get me wrong, not trying to brag. Happy seeing people doing pullups instead off pushing weights at all times!
