  • Public complained of my comments. They claimed that the Mirage III other than the Harrier Jumjet also contributed at the war againt China and Soviet at the front line in Indochina intercept the Mig 21. The public also told me the Mig did penetrated the defence to Malaysia Peninsula. I also remined the readers that we have the friendly Mig 21 during the strugger in Europe in 1965/66.

  • The Quen Elizebert II had offer the sale of 70 unites Harrier Jumjet to China in 1982 after the Falkland war. The Chinese told me the offer was the damage Harrier Jumjet that was not able to operate. This made me doublt about the technical department of the British Air Force.

  • The Harriers In Thailand had successfully bar the Mig 21 from China. The Mig 21 force had hiding the lost from their suprem commender.

  • A fine tribute. Thank you.

  • What tune is that? It's on the tip of my tongue and it's annoying me for not knowing lol.

  • @Nemorz Vivaldi the four seasons

  • This plane is amazing, stellar even. That being said, it didn't get the nick name"Scarrier" for no reason. It has alot of internal problems, I.E, the butterfly valve is constantly malfunctioning.

  • Nicely done sir!

  • @OLDSMARKARL Thank you.

  • Shame that it is gone Brits made the best planes ever

  • This aircraft and more particularly the Bristol Siddeley (as it was) Pegasus engine, is a work of genius.

From 50 years ago, it makes the JSF look clumsy by comparison.

  • Pitty the UK Goverment scrapped the Sea Harrier and now the GR9, total madness.

  • @henryvagincourt I agree.

  • @henryvagincourt Well you say that, but Gordon Brown wouldn't have kept Britain at the No.4 defence spender in the world whereas Cameron is keeping us at No.4.

2 already new super carriers on the way anyway.

  • A fitting tribute to a fabulous flying machine. Although they are as glamorous as other supersonic cousins, Harriers are a breakthrough breed. Love them

  • super duper matey,a great tribute to a lovely lady of the skies.I will miss her with all my heart.

    retired-Fleet Air Arm Sqd 601

  • this is what brits do, thanks for sharing the video

  • any need for the bloody violins

  • In the words of the great Kenneth Loggins

    DANGERZONE!!!!!

  • favourite plane has and always will be the harrier gr7, its the sex..........i had the priveledge of sitting in one as an air cadet and getting to sit in a flight of one in RAF valley, one i shall never forget

  • 2:10 :)

  • very nice airoplane

  • if yous enjoy this stuff you's wud really enjoy this game desert operations.. u build ur own country make allies and enemys ITS BLOODY FUN :)

  • the one thing that pisses me off is that these american red necks say well out f22's are much better because there american most patriots can handle the fact that they live in a corrupt country, i think the best thing thats happened in the US was the election of President Braack Obama. The US might have all the money in the world but the UK certainly has the best military in the owrld despite what the world may think.

  • Beautiful sight for us... horrifying for others...

  • Madre mia ! que aeronave ! una verdadera obra de arte ! ya los imagino en combate ! saludos.

  • Im not sure if argentine pilots were "better" but their missions were far more demanding than the brit's, the planes very inferior an the air to air weapons, if any, were a joke. Those pilots were very brave.

  • Great-looking aircraft, too

  • Britain had no loss harriers because argentine air force didn't go to the war with air to air misiles, only with bombs, air to ground missiles and obviously cannon.

the UK had better planes but Argentina better pilots.

  • @pancho133

Ha no they did not they where brave but no way better

  • Bah. argentine planes didnt carry missiles. mostly auxiliary tanks and bombs, and had to fly from the continent, so they had limited autonomy. besides they were ground attack planes, not fighters. how can u not expect to have superiority against a plain only armed with a machine gun when you are loaded with missles and close to fuel resupply?

The harrier rocks anyway. I love it.

  • @timotastic im no expert on planes but im fairly sure uk, an usa have complete new design now for vertiical take off. an theres fully working f35, lets see if these new planes have sevice life as long. lets face it mk1 golf gti is far better than the new 1.

  • such an engineering masterpiece, an still in service in i think 6 countrys, including us navy, that says it all, all these years an even usa massive research an budget not been able to better it. awsome! uk can produce when not got mps claiming 10000s on toilet paper

  • @tangled1s Just can't understand why they are not developing further the jump-jet-technique. Why the westerners don't use this technique anymore in the new jets they intend to do?

  • @timotastic

    The F-35 m8.

  • @boldertits Thx for info, looks great and seems to be it!

  • @boldertits that isn't a VTOL

  • argentina can try and take back the falklands,we are packing som serious military hardware compared to them, and the harriers one of them

  • @rangers11000

myeah, you know, i dont think Argentina's ready for that war..... we dont have any military stock!! if we'd get into war... we're screwed!

  • @rangers11000

EF typhoons are on the Falklands now.

Harriers wiped the floor with Argentinas planes. It would be a turkey shoot.

  • i love airplanes

  • @redpedroish well?

  • @redpedroish prestigious, like Lucas electric? the cars you mentioned are hand made custom cars,I'll bet u 100 Q u own or have driven in a ford focus,The U.S. besides the corvette is short on really nice cars, but we make great trucks ,silly person!!

  • Nice video of a nice piece of technology. Funny, the word Harrier sounds like the Dutch word 'Herrie' which means 'noise' . But I love that kind of 'herrie' almost as much as mister Vivaldi's 4 seasons

  • @abwo47 that's true. Herrie.... weeral iemand van Belgie of nederland ontmoet XD

  • they don't call them Jumpy Janette for nothing :)

  • Beautiful plane, as much as it pains me to say so being from Argentina. The F35 may be better or not, but it is not as nice a plane as this one.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for your comment. Spain sold its Harriers to Thailand.

  • @jbmilitarycollector : Oops - I stand corrected ! I didn't know that. Thanks !

  • to bad the brits never made a good car,(mass prodced)

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • one of the most revolutionary aircrafts in history...

  • SEA HARRIER!!

  • Love the Rocket Pods

  • Well edited with excellent music - - far superior to most other aerospace videos on you tube - - well done!

  • haha yeah lol

  • Great video 5*

  • Love it. Looks like pure menace on a pair of wings. The Argentinians found that it had sharp teeth as well.

  • Great video , but you missed the sound part where the throttle back from the hover to touchdown - love that sound

  • nice tribute vid! *****

  • Theres a harrier outside the main gate at RAF Wittering. Is that a real one does anyone know?It seems very small.

  • Yes, it's a real one. They are small aircraft.

  • I like the music :-)

  • ANd the F-35 has more British tech than american, its lift engine for a start then its BAe IEWS and even the stealth was created by a Brits for Lockheed Martin, you stupid fool.

America is just a wallet - and a very stupid one at that...

  • Damn guys how about we stop the dick measuring and get pissed off at the enemy since we are supposed to be allies! The Americans and Europeans bitch and fight like a bunch of three year old kids while our enemies take advantage!

  • Additionally the F-35 is unable to VIFF (Vector In Forwards Flight) which allows the harrier to turn ALLOT sharper at the expense of air speed, the reason for this is the F-35 your basically cranking open a big pair of doors on the back which aren't designed for any kind of in-flight stresses.

  • it may be alot better but its about what 30 40 years younger than the harrier?

  • Look, apart from you getting your facts wrong at least learn to spell "we're" and "which". Facts.

The Harrier GR1 entered service with number 1(F) squadron at Wittering in 1969. No-one had anything else like it at the time. The U.K built and designed Harrier FAW 2 made a bit of a mess of the U.S built Skyhawk during the Falklands war.

  • yer they crashed in to each other lol

  • Its only a death trap in american hands ;)

  • yeah they crasht 24 planes ?

  • An outstanding maritime fighter.

No equal at low level in the thick air.

  • the best plane !! beautiful !! there is no american shit !!!

  • If those daygo Argie Bastards try anything again on OUR TERRITORY!!, we'll hit em twice as hard as last time!!

We haven't tested our nukes in a while!!

    RULE BRITANNIA!

  • islander rouge get out of my country and go back to your tiny inundate island!!!!

  • Cool video, I did my military service in Spain and we had them, they are impressive.

  • jaja to land on the moon.. you ?? make me laugh jaja

  • This video is amazing...great work. US/UK...!

  • Thanks for your comments. UK.

  • What you mean US? We invented the Harrier

  • this is the best plane eva

  • That's the finest aircraft I've ever seen!!!That's much better than the stupid F-35,with a big hole on the back!!

  • Makes my brain hurt trying to think how the hell they make something like that stay in the air.

    Awesome bit of kit

  • Superb aircraft,Saved our neck more than once. Were the combat scenes from the falklands?

still the best VTOL in my opinion.

  • Some were yes.
