In nature a baby monkey stands a less then 40% chance of life. If a troop gets a new leader, he kills all the babies. If food or water is scarce, they just run off and leave the babies, making them prey or die from dehydration. Most of the monkey poachers are now after other game because the breeding farms are so successful. Many animals will not breed in captivity, not these "intelligent" things.

I despise the abuse of any animal, but a monkey troop is set up on abuse of the weaker ones.

There was a show on 2 weeks ago about a lady buying a Capuchin male. She paid the breeder $5500.00 cash and got a 11 day old male.The breeder laughed at how the mama would throw the baby at her because atfer haviing them for 19yrs, they knew she was coming to "pull" it at 1 day. How is this right? Just because it was an USDA approved breeder? The buyer is now considered a monkey lover buying her male from a cage where he was kept with no one touching him so he would imprint and survive ok.

I bet most of the people working at this organisation eat animals on a daily basis. Moral schizophrenia has to be addressed and humans need to get over comparing animals to man before we give them a chance. All animals have the same right to life as we do, none of them are disposable commodities.

What a confused species we are, and we say we are intelligent? The smartest & most caring thing you can do is go Vegan. Its easy & you will never look back.

@junkintrunk55Hitler was NOT a Vegan. Read Eternal Treblinka - The only reason he did not eat animal flesh as would others was because of stomach problems. It gave him flatulence! He would however sometimes eat a type of german sausage, it was his favourite.He would also feed his generals goose that was rich in fat in the winter months. I hate that this happens but saying Bushmeat must stop now is all too easy for those of us who don't know what it's like to starve for a few days or watch a loved one die of starvation. Even though Bushmeat is largely a luxury item, it brings in money which people use to buy food. Most countries where chimps live have political systems that intentionaly starve people to keep them poor - until that changes, I doubt the bushmeat problem will stop unless extinction stops it.
