I think Serena lost some of her interest while playing nowadays because no one could challenge her like this match. Wonderful play by both players. And I love the atmosphere, the intensity between them is really in the air. And sure it is a finale so that's why Serena getting so emotional.
Even if I have respect for Serena, we must admit that her attitude on court is quite often bad: using f..;words and trying to intimidate the referees and her opponents. On a tennistic point of view, her game is based on power, yes, it's been sufficient to win 13 slams, but most of the time, it's absolutely horrible tennis indeed!
I don't understand how all these negative comments about Serena being ugly and all this mess even started. It's irrelevant to the video. She beat Justine fair and square. No matter how much any of you haters want to deny her talent, or downplay Serena, she has been the best player out there for almost two decades, through injuries and all, so GET OVER IT!

It is tennis because no one could hit the ball as hard as her and still make low unforced errors rate. Plus you should consider her athletic ability, serve, volley, tactical play. @yehuda86 Safina and Jankovic are not that great. I certainly wouldn't put them in the same category with the other players you mentioned. Safina had a big game but she often cracked under pressure and she choked in the big moments time and time again. She was never going to be a "champion". As far as Jankovic goes, the fundamental flaw in her game (lack of power, lack of variety) means that she could never win a major. She's just like Wozniacki, a consistent counterpuncher but with no variety.

I'm a die hard, all day long Williams fan, and I absolutely hated Justine, but I will say I do miss her fiesty-ness on the court. Tennis just isn't the same with the players we have now. I'm glad to say that I was a fan during the golden years of womens tennis when The Williams, Henin, Clijsters, Davenport, Seles, Capriati,Pierce, Hingis and upcoming russians ALL played together in the same tournament. @yehuda86 Safina and Jankovic are not that great. I certainly wouldn't put them in the same category with the other players you mentioned. Safina had a big game but she often cracked under pressure and she choked in the big moments time and time again. She was never going to be a "champion". As far as Jankovic goes, the fundamental flaw in her game (lack of power, lack of variety) means that she could never win a major. She's just like Wozniacki, a consistent counterpuncher but with no variety.

Serena is 30 years old and a multi millionaire. I think she can play for one more year and then retire and move on to something else with her life.

Serena doesn't always have to muscle a serve in, she knows its about placement & precision most of the time. she can hit an ace at 90-100 miles per hour effortlessly. Also, her service motion is near perfect, and beautiful.

I'm a die hard, all day long Williams fan, and I absolutely hated Justine, but I will say I do miss her fiesty-ness on the court. Tennis just isn't the same with the players we have now. I'm glad to say that I was a fan during the golden years of womens tennis when The Williams, Henin, Clijsters, Davenport, Seles, Capriati,Pierce, Hingis and upcoming russians ALL played together in the same tournament. It just isnt the same anymore now that some has retired and my girls are close to retirement.

Now, we've got an entire generation of players that have gotten to number 1 or 2 in the world but can't win at the majors and have just gotten there through quantity rather than quality.

@mediomcruz You know why "fatter" players can play tennis? B/c tennis at its purest form is almost exclusively a game of the hand. Sure there is running in it but ur hand decides the direction of the ball. That is how people in wheelchairs can still play tennis. Tennis utilizes the hand. That is how bigger women like Serena, Davenport, Kleybanova and Clijsters can still play and win matches. Now what pro level sport has your (im assuming) skinny ass played? Oh thats right you average joe: None.

@twarren20 Justine played far less Grand Slams than Serena, so it's rather natural that she won less. Both of these players are immensely talented, but I'm not sure we'll ever quite know who was better, Justine's career was unfortunately shorter than it should've been.

Justine has been in 12 GS finals and won 7 (58%). Serena has been in 16 GS finals and won 13 (81%). Serena has a 8-6 record over Justine. Serena wins!

Everyone in the top 50 would beat Margaret Court at her best, so does that mean that they are all better? Head to head, Serena is definitely the best of all time. Achievement wise, she's not. I am not surprised Henin retired people talk about her mental strength but Justine was always a quitter. By contrast, Clijsters came back to the WTA stronger mentally and physically. Clijsters improved and Henin was not patient enough to realize maybe this year she could of made some inroads. Don't be surprised if Henin unretires once again. She just too mentally fragile.

No offense but Henin was the only player that could make Serena run for her money, along with her EXTREMELY attractive and superior skills to most women. She may not have an unbeaten record against the top players, but she has a remarkable skill that most could even dream of! If Clijsters/Sharapova/jankovic/kuzzy.... would have Henin skills for example they would kick everyone's ass.

It really is a shame Henin retired. Ive never been the biggest fan at her but Womens tennis at the moment is that BORING apart from Clijsters and Serena. Other than that they are all their for looks (which we appreciate as well) but really none of them have the power and precision of henin and serena- 20ish grand slams between them.
