My Uncle had health insurance thru his job till a major operation and treatments came up all in the name of skin cancer. The health insurance did not cover everything even when my uncle purchased extra insurance. Now he may half to give up everything Scothceric and looking at possibly dying within a few months and cannot even afford a funneral due to high medical costs that the insurance company is not willing to pay for. When this happens to you it changes your way of thinking completely.

Scandinavian countries also have the strictest barriers to citizenship that prohibit rampant immigration (and they have an abundance of natural resources for high output per person) and a very small population to support in comparison to the U.S.. The logistics of having socialist programs (or even gov't subsidized healthcare) is prohibitively expensive. Even comparing us to Canada (who has one tenth our population) is idiotic in the argument for universal healthcare.

Scandinavian countries have enormous issues with immigration and are the most liberal countries in the world in granting refugee status. The only resource rich country is Norway, and Denmark is in fact quite resource poor. They are competitive by having a well educated, healthy, and efficient workforce. As far as the "idiotic comparison": universal health care is a program that can be funded at the federal level and administered at the state level.

Your right, socialist health care is crazy! can you imagine how terrible it would be if everyone got the care they needed? I had open heart surgery in March, I'm 25 years old, I couldn't get health care because it was a pre-existing condition and now I owe almost $200,000. Are you going to tell me I deserve it because I'm lazy and I don't work hard? It's obvious by the way you talk you've never had a hardship in your life, you only see in black and white, and you think of nobody but yourself.

Yeah my uncle is dealing with skin cancer himself and he paid fully into his insurance, but their not willing to pay for all treatments,so whatever they don't pay for he will end up paying. He had to give up his job because of the sickness and cannot go back to work. He may half to put everything he worked hard for his whole life up for sale to cover the medical bills.
