i have this pc and when i received it from dell it wasnt working... they gave me another one that was working fine until now.Sometime the screen is full of line and the hard drive stop working ...
@kraftdinner18 The hard drive issue may be because of the 7200.11 hard drives just like the issue with this particular computer. Artifacts on the screen can be caused by a faulty graphics card.
@kraftdinner18 Yours must have been either a newer model, or it was assembled when they received a batch of Hitachis. Dell does use both Seagate and Hitachi hard drives.
I have the same HDD with my OEM desktop and it failed after 8 months. Happened when I tried to upgrade it from Win 7 Home Premium x64 to Ultimate x64. thank goodness it still had warranty and got a free replacement which took almost 2 months. Too bad the technicians swapped the PSU to probably a cheap one which is really loud or is it something else. I dunno.
I have the 1 drive that failed and 2 that are failing. I already have the so-called "good" firmware from day one and they are still "crap". I definitely don't recommend them.
@fuzonacid I actually know how to fix them now! It requires a modded Nokia CA-42 cable, a paper card, and HyperTerminal. The HDD that was pulled from the system was recently repaired and brought back to use.
The Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 lineup of hard drives have been known to have a firmware flaw which will "brick" up the drive within the 1st 3-5 months of use when the user of the system shuts off power to the drive. The next time the system is powered on, the drive will either show it's storage amount as 0MB or not even be recognized by the system BIOS. in both scenarios, the drive will still mechanically function, but it will be useless to the computer.
There is a newer firmware patch from Seagate that fixes the problem, but it must be applied BEFORE failure. The system in the video is my friend's system. search 7200.11 failure. It has happened to the 500GB, 750GB, and 1TB models.
I never had this issue. But I bought 4 WD drives today and talked to the tech guy about the 7200.11 Seagate and he said they no longer are producing them and there is a new firmware issue but they can't figure it out. Nice of them to let the consumer know. There should be a recall based on the numbers I am seeing in forums etc.

@artificialRAGE92 They probably did. Tell me the brand and the model of the power supply, and I'll find out if it is junk or good
