There was never any doubt. The reality is that many of the people the police deal with don't pay taxes. Federal and state Income taxes don't fund police salaries, local taxes do. It's quite easy to deal with this situation. If a cop ASKS you to turn the camera off, respectfully and politely decline. If he demands that you turn the camera off, you simply say: "Are you ordering me to turn the camera off, sir?" They usually shut-up about the camera after that.
Because you feel it is a right to film and are pushing the issue right in front of me so you can just put it on youtube, I see a small weapon in your hand within striking distance. You would not walk up to and officer with a brick in your hand would you? Because that is exactly how the officer see it and if they did not then they probably not be alive.
If you must film, do it from a distance and if you are told to put the camara away do it.

a cop watch program was stated in a town in tn on the third time when cop watchers were out on the streets with there cameras trying to film two cops at a public intoxication stop they were arrested there camera busted and held in jail for 78 hours then had to pay 500.00 each to get released in court they were found guilty another 500.00 fine plus cost total of all money paid,2,300.45 so that ended cop watch in that tn town,police stated they they weren't going to have cop watch in there town.

It's quite easy to deal with this situation. If a cop ASKS you to turn the camera off, respectfully and politely decline. If he demands that you turn the camera off, you simply say: "Are you ordering me to turn the camera off, sir?" They usually shut-up about the camera after that.

Because you feel it is a right to film and are pushing the issue right in front of me so you can just put it on youtube, I see a small weapon in your hand within striking distance. You would not walk up to and officer with a brick in your hand would you? Because that is exactly how the officer see it and if they did not then they probably not be alive.
If you must film, do it from a distance and if you are told to put the camara away do it.
