  • I served on 28 Sqn with John Coxen ( 0:54 )when he was a Sqn Ldr, a nicer guy you would struggle to find.

  • Honour is something we earn. These men and women earnt this. Rememeber the final scene in Gladiator, (rephrased) 'They were soldiers of Britain, honour them!'

  • Truly amazing video, R.I.P all those KIA. these people are real heroes, they shall not be forgotten. Also like the man walking along the sand story, really touching. Thank you for the video, god bless.

  • God bless the 1 Sqn lads. Gone but never forgotten.

    Good vid.

  • I have no idea why I let myself watch these things. Because each time I watch them I end up crying. Not only for the men and woman who are the fallen hero's but for the men and woman who are left behind.

As a civvie nurse it makes me want to join up, just to be able to serve and treat the men and woman who put their life at risk would be a great honer.

Those guys died a hero's death, although they should never have died.

  • Please do.you do not know much nurses are needed and most of all, always appreciated! From a RAF person.

  • a touching tribute and the first time i have allowed myself to listen to bagpipes after my brothers funeral we had a lone piper playing amazing grace, which he had at his passing out parade. bob was on XV179, always my hero and forever in my heart. to all other personnel who are also in the big bar in the sky, you may be gone but never forgotten. per ardua ad astra.

  • I glad you found the strength to watch the vid Chappiesgirl. I served 15 years in the RAF including time on Nimrods but not Hercs. If you would like a copy of the vid feel free to PM me with an MSN addy and I'll be happy to send you it.

  • It always makes me cry when I see Bob or Ritchie or anyone else from the crew in one of these videos. Bob was a fantastic guy and is sorely missed.

  • God bless Dave

  • beautiful, very moving---hit the right spot

  • They shall not grow old as we that are left to grow old,

  • My feeligs are with the families and those who love and were loved by these protecters of our lives.

For all ex-RUC and serving members, my thanks for their sacrifice.

  • I knew and worked with one of them at Kinloss 1991- 1995, my boy friend knew and worked with one other when based at RAF Lyneham.

In the RAF we were/ are all very close knit, a 'family', therefore; when this happens, we all feel a great loss, and the pain.
