A product called FireStopper (videos here on youtube) puts out 10,000 sq ft of Jet A in 19 seconds using 2 hand lines. It is effective on all class fires including metals and fats/ mineral oils. It is not harmful to humans or the environment. Awsome stuff.. I am a fire Chief and have been using it on fires for years.
I really don't want to be mean, I really am trying to be more on the lines of expect just a little better from my planet. But, am I one of the only ones that is not the least bit impressed by this video? Again, I'm trying not to be mean, but seriously. There's gotta be better technology out there.
I would like to see more videos with this product. I'd prefer to see them by independant departments. This video played way to much like a commercial. Am I the only one who sees it this way?
In 1968 at Miramar an A-6 crashed into a hangar. It creamed a row of A-6s and f-4s killing a slew of people in the hangar.
a 16" sprinkler riser in the hangar was sheared, dumping a river of water in the hangar which flowed out on the ground outside like a river. The mass of fuel from the broken up aircraft flowed on top of the sprinkler water and caught fire, creating a river of fire.
A single turrett MB-5 Navy crash truck entered the hangar with AFFF flowing from the turret.
All members of the public, firefighters, and emergency personnel-The `establishment` has failed in their duty to tell you of this.. Google paddyanddollydotnet and read FIREBURN MEDIA ALERT, tell all your friends and,in case of severe fireburn keep that number in your back pocket 24 hours a day.
umm lets see AFFF has been around for some years now nothing new, and every engine now a day's are equiped with enductors for foam and foam is not the answer to everything. have sprinkler systems put us out of jobs yet? no and that has even more of a better use than AFFF
AFF is not the magic pill that the AFF salespeople would have us bvelieve. It's a tool that has it's appropriate place on the truck, plain and simple. Nothing more.
Budgetary cuts? WTF are you talking about? Who do you sell for?
AFFF is the greatest for crash fire fighting. It is a surficant. That's why it is called lite water.
Chevyrules is obviously confused. The old protien foam used in the fifties could be disturbed and broken up. That is exactly what makes afff terrific.

Sorry for the mixup. I know more about fire fighting than I do about computers. Getting around this 500 word limit is hard to do.
Anyway, the crash trucks lite water extinguished the fire and flowed right on out of the hangar putting out fire.
It is sensational on fuel fires at crashes or in refineries. Has little use in structural fire fighting.
It was created bu the Naval Research Laboratory. But MMM was the business benefactor. And made a bunch off of it.

Its just another new agent like Fireade nothing special, its just a wetting agent and emulsifier. The only new agent that amazes me is Arctic Fire.

Wouldn't it make more sense if you were to use the foam wouldn't you use at least medium expansion foam?
