I went to the Bahamas this summer and went to Dolphin Cay. It was an expirence I can never forget. You got to kiss the dolphins, feed the dolphins, take plenty of pictures with the dolphins. You get divided into groups of about 10 and you get to play with your dolphin! You also got to see atlantis which was beautiful. Go Bahamas!
I can't wait! Im turning 14 on this Friday so im going to be trainer 4 a day for 6 hours!!! At Marineland, the place i wanna work someday..... It has always been my Dream to be a Dolphin Trainer since age 2!
@DolphinTrainer2B Before you start about thinking about your trainer career, please please imform yourself about the horrible horrible form the animals at seeworld and similiar organisations are kept. dophins are not supposed to do tricks for us, nor is it natural to have them keep swimming in a small roundshaped aquarium. they suffer due to what seaworld and other companies, due to how we, the humans, treat them.
Yeah it's a beautiful experience to swim with them but I dislike the way they're confined, trained to do tricks in holiday resorts, it felt unatural and found myself feeling a bit sorry for them.
People thought training is a right thing but it not. Thousand of Dolphins are dying because of this. Put them a box instead a huge ocean. I give you food if you beg me and do the tricks if not I give you a dead fish(dolphin only eat dead fish when they stave).
All the people complaining about this being animal cruelty - Many of the animals kept in such facilities were found injured and are either unable to be released back into the wild or are being rehabilitated for release. Sometimes the animals are bred in captivity because it's actually safer for them than being in the wild - some are hunted to the point where it is extremely difficult to reproduce and continue the species because there are so few of them that can pair up as mates.
@DuchessAliana If captives are in the situations that you have mentioned, there are better ways to do things. Seaworld could have chosen to be a good sanctuary with expansive enclosures that mimic the ocean a bit more, but they are too audience oriented. They could have decided to be an organization to 'police' sections of oceans where wild dolphins might be hunted. Captive breeding will only be a gene pool. Generations can't pass on ocean-survival knowledge to newborns if it has been lost.
Dolphin captivity is extremely cruel. To force a dolphin to live without its pod in a cement tank for its entire life and perform for food is horrible
@BlueVoiceOrg Too bad they don't live without their pods. They are never captured anymore and are all born there, which means they are with their pods.
@BlueVoiceOrg totally agree with you on that one! want to see a dolphin? go to the sea.. also highly educated people with the degree in psychology should put themselves in the position of a captured animal before they decide to become an animal trainer.. i dont see the difference between these trainers and those hunters who slaughter dolphins for food.
It is irresponsible to keep these sophisticated animals in captivity, because they own most basic needs are denied: In the wild, dolphins live in groups of up to 100 animals, reaching speeds of up to 50 km / h, up to 500 meters deep dive and be 10 years older than captive
i have wanted to be a dolphin trainer my whole entire life :)........dolphins are beautiful creatures....i love seeing them when i go on my dad's boat....whenever someone says the world dolphin my heart stops and i get so exited...if anyone see's this comment can you please give me some info on how to become a dolphin trainer...please :)
the info on becoming a dolphin trainer is simple - don't!
the beauty of a dolphin can only be appreciated from your dad's boat and not in a cement tank.
this is not about me being an activist but about you being evolved to a point when you see what is right and what is wrong. this attitude of "i'd love to be a trainer" is antiquated ok? and it doesn't belong in 21 century. choice is yours.
@kleanthis1000 why do people leave there kids to play with dogs? It's not just the species that should be considering kids friendly or not, but the individual... You wouldn't leave your kid with a wild dolphin, just like you wouldn't leave your kid with any dog or other pet. Sure they can bite, so can we and any other living species on this planet.
@CaliforniaTravelTips when you swim underwater for the test,do you have to swim at the bottom of the tank? And what type of swim would you reccomend for the freestyle swim?
@CaliforniaTravelTips You have to swim 125 ft underwater with one breath. It doesn't matter how deep you go during the swim, but your head cannot come out of the water. So basically, you can't just swim at the surface. You have to be completely submerged.
@breezetrainer1 practice practice practice. Hold your breath in a pool for as long as you can. If you don't have a pool go to the beach, lake, etc. And while holding your breath make sure you are swimming as well and don't forget to time yourself.
@breezetrainer1 well,I'm 11 and when I grow up I want to work with the orcas,so I'm going to practice alot and eventualy my lungs will expand. You try that too

This does make me wanna go swimming though. A 26 foot surface dive isn't so bad. I've gone 30. I can also swim quite a distance without taking a breath (when im not sick!).
@xxxEmoRinsxxx All toothed whales can bite, but they're also smart and social so they won't likely jump to conclusions about you. If they bite you, you almost certainly had it coming. This is no different between dolphins, porpoises, or orcas.
I got into dolphin training for the girls, not the dolphins. I was the only guy in all my dolphin training classes, and let me tell you something, it's the field to be in if you wanna meet women.
dolphins dont belong in captivity ! dolphins travel 40 miles a day every day ! sea world & all these other industries are a shame ! these dolphins were bought from japan and shipped out all over the world just for your entertainment. these dolphins are depressed, they have feelings & a consciousness, they know whats going on and they are aware of it. I would need rocket thrusters strapped to both my feet to make a 26 foot surface dive to get me to the bottom of the pool. But, then after I made it to the bottom, I'd be swimming so fast to get to the surface, that I'd come out of the water like a MX missile!
Oh silly people complaining aboout domesticated sea creatures. If you are going to come on here and complain about the dolphins and whales, then you also need to go onto every HORSE, DOG,CAT,BIRD,AND FISH video and do the same. ALL pets are domesticated, horses for example used to roam wild in miles of open savannahs. So unless your gonna yell at every pet owner out there, dont complain on these videos! Why are sea creatures the only ones you "feel bad for"... EXACTLY, SHUTTUP!
Stupid people and there save the dolphins crap...... Nearly every dolphin video at a zoo or aquarium there are people like.. dolphins in captivity is a crime.... BS ..... most of the dolphins in places like this were born here or saved from the sea( having there life saved) and not being returned because of irreparable damage that would make it harder for them to catch food for them selves.... So please people stop whining. ( ill be posting this on multiple videos) not pointed at anyone specific
the part of the brain that contains our empathy is twice as big with dolphins... thats why you hear stories about dolphins saving people that a drifted out to sea, cuz they see the panic in the people, and that is what makes them truly amazing. cant imagine having a hypened sende of smell and its out of my imagination to have twice the empathy... you can say that if god created someone in his image then wouldnt it be dolphins ?
dolphins intelligence has never been measured, they are far more spiritual and mental than humans think. i don't think they need a trainer, let them be.
snow4man there is also another site called myscubastory that has diving stories like accidents shark encounters etc. type myscubastory into google and its first one i think..
@TheWolfMidna Yeah, I see your point. But you know how big their tanks at Seaworld are for them, for animals that in the wild swim endless amounts each day just for the joy of it? Prison cells are probably bigger for humans, in comparison. And yeah, they're social creatures ... mostly with their own pods, dolphin families. It's probably a little bit like if somebody took our family away and gave us a dolphin instead.
@TheWolfMidna yeah, I can see why people think you'd make a good politician. You forget that It is OUR fault that the oceans are polluted, NOT theirs. And WE have been polluting THEIR oceans for DECADES with NO regard for the billions we kill. You ALSO forget that we are clueless as to how they feel. We DON'T own their oceans, and we DON'T decide their futures. Get your OWN facts right before you start telling people theirs aren't, or just keep your futurely-political mouth shut.
@TheWolfMidna You must be a high ranking member of Mensa. No wonder the intelligent folks at CaliforniaTravelTips approved your comment. You should work for N.A.S.A. or even run for president.
I love dolphins!! One of my my favorite animals!! Wait, is my favorite animal!! The dolphins are very friendly and also cute!! Thumbs up if anyone agrees with me!!! I would love to be a dolphin trainer. Sign me up!!
i dont know if its good to capture them or not but to think about it look what they do to them in japan slaughter them or danemark they also slaughter dolphins these dolphins could have been slaughtered maybe if they got captured so they are safe here they do tricks and stuff but they are alive and safe which is more important
@MrAtomicBond why don't you focus your hatred on the Japanese instead... they're the one's depleteing our oceans of all the sealife with their "gotta-have-sushi" mentalities. SICKENING.
as much as i like to see dolphins like this at seaworld, i do feel sorry for them. Wild animals were intended to be in the wild, not in some prison like this for our amusement.
@SensiRootsBoy wow you guys need to listen, and study, and shut up on things yout don't know, if you let all of these dolphins out in sea, they wouldn't live, they were born in sea world, which means they have no experiances out in the wild, which will kill them if they leave.
@theguitarhero3 Indeed they were born in seaworld from descendants of dolphins which were captured from the wild and taken from their habitat and from their pods. Have you ever questioned whether it is ethical to breed cetaceans simply for "entertainment" and Profit?? Seaworlds captive breeding program is contrary to conservation as the aim is not to replenish a depleting wild population, but simply to increase the profits of this multi billion dollar corporation.
@gally50 what about a more devious plan track the captured dolphin via GPS, release the captured dolphin and allow it to find it's way back to it's pod, track it and capture the rest of the entire pod!? I like to think the dolphin is just wee bit smarter than that!
@shyboybabo i know seriously. some people deserve it. These animals need to be out in the wild. You dont really know how a dolphin lives and acts until it is out in the wild.
@CaliforniaTravelTips Indeed SW breed dolphins in captivity not for the purpose of conservation, but for the purpose of making a profit. Pier reviewed studies by respected marine biologists & animal experts have concluded that keeping cetaceans in captivity is damaging to the cetaceans physical & mental wellbeing. The aggressive marketing of the aquariums will require more cetaceans to be kept in captivity despite the harmful consequences, simply for the amusement of an ignorant minority.
@CaliforniaTravelTips exactly becasue ppl start to throw garbage in the oceans where they live and they would eat that so it is kind of a good idea to do that and show other ppl and little kids what the dolphins can do and the trainers feed them fish not garbage...
@DucksArmee shut up the dolphins who were born there would never survive in the wild so they stay there and the ones who were born in the wild were injured and when they healed they stay cuz they like it there they get fed everyday played with everyday see kids a lot and get 2 bond with other dolphins so shut up

Dolphins are NOT domesticated animals!!
Keep dolphins in the wild!!! They are not show animals!!!
krazyface123 10 months ago
Oh silly people complaining aboout domesticated sea creatures. If you are going to come on here and complain about the dolphins and whales, then you also need to go onto every HORSE, DOG,CAT,BIRD,AND FISH video and do the same. ALL pets are domesticated, horses for example used to roam wild in miles of open savannahs. So unless your gonna yell at every pet owner out there, dont complain on these videos! Why are sea creatures the only ones you "feel bad for"... EXACTLY, SHUTTUP!
anw3211995 10 months ago
Stupid people and there save the dolphins crap...... Nearly every dolphin video at a zoo or aquarium there are people like.. dolphins in captivity is a crime.... BS ..... most of the dolphins in places like this were born here or saved from the sea( having there life saved) and not being returned because of irreparable damage that would make it harder for them to catch food for them selves.... So please people stop whining. ( ill be posting this on multiple videos) not pointed at anyone specific
Balfourism 11 months ago
@Balfourism are you retarded? they shouldt have even been born in captivity in the first place...

love the place...wanna be there some day ...and see all those darling dolphins
ponnu1984 11 months ago
the part of the brain that contains our empathy is twice as big with dolphins... thats why you hear stories about dolphins saving people that a drifted out to sea, cuz they see the panic in the people, and that is what makes them truly amazing. cant imagine having a hypened sende of smell and its out of my imagination to have twice the empathy... you can say that if god created someone in his image then wouldnt it be dolphins ?

dolphins intelligence has never been measured, they are far more spiritual and mental than humans think. i don't think they need a trainer, let them be.

snow4man there is also another site called myscubastory that has diving stories like accidents shark encounters etc. type myscubastory into google and its first one i think..

It's probably a little bit like if somebody took our family away and gave us a dolphin instead.
sorengz 11 months ago
@TheWolfMidna yeah, I can see why people think you'd make a good politician. You forget that It is OUR fault that the oceans are polluted, NOT theirs. And WE have been polluting THEIR oceans for DECADES with NO regard for the billions we kill. You ALSO forget that we are clueless as to how they feel. We DON'T own their oceans, and we DON'T decide their futures. Get your OWN facts right before you start telling people theirs aren't, or just keep your futurely-political mouth shut.

I think dolphins and people should talk to one another because they are as smart as people

after what BP has done to our oceans, if I were a dolphin I'd be perfectly fine chilling at Sea World
MrAtomicBond 1 year ago 57
@MrAtomicBond why don't you focus your hatred on the Japanese instead... they're the one's depleteing our oceans of all the sealife with their "gotta-have-sushi" mentalities. SICKENING.

as much as i like to see dolphins like this at seaworld, i do feel sorry for them. Wild animals were intended to be in the wild, not in some prison like this for our amusement.
SensiRootsBoy 1 year ago 3
@SensiRootsBoy wow you guys need to listen, and study, and shut up on things yout don't know, if you let all of these dolphins out in sea, they wouldn't live, they were born in sea world, which means they have no experiances out in the wild, which will kill them if they leave.
theguitarhero3 1 year ago
@theguitarhero3 Indeed they were born in seaworld from descendants of dolphins which were captured from the wild and taken from their habitat and from their pods. Have you ever questioned whether it is ethical to breed cetaceans simply for "entertainment" and Profit?? Seaworlds captive breeding program is contrary to conservation as the aim is not to replenish a depleting wild population, but simply to increase the profits of this multi billion dollar corporation.
gally50 1 year ago 15
@gally50 what about a more devious plan track the captured dolphin via GPS, release the captured dolphin and allow it to find it's way back to it's pod, track it and capture the rest of the entire pod!? I like to think the dolphin is just wee bit smarter than that!

Captive dolphins die alot younger than free ones. They get depressed and stressed from the noise. In the wild is the best way to experience them.

OMDDD,, this would be an awsome job, and yeah they wouldnt do it if they didnt like itt. they would do anything for a bit of fish haha

release them...human treat them like science project. I dont blame wild animals attack human.
shyboybabo 1 year ago 3
@shyboybabo i know seriously. some people deserve it. These animals need to be out in the wild. You dont really know how a dolphin lives and acts until it is out in the wild.

DucksArmee 1 year ago 20
@DucksArmee Most of the dolphins and other animals at SeaWorld were born there. They wouldn't survive in the wild.
CaliforniaTravelTips 1 year ago 48
@CaliforniaTravelTips Indeed SW breed dolphins in captivity not for the purpose of conservation, but for the purpose of making a profit. Pier reviewed studies by respected marine biologists & animal experts have concluded that keeping cetaceans in captivity is damaging to the cetaceans physical & mental wellbeing. The aggressive marketing of the aquariums will require more cetaceans to be kept in captivity despite the harmful consequences, simply for the amusement of an ignorant minority.
gally50 1 year ago 5
@CaliforniaTravelTips exactly becasue ppl start to throw garbage in the oceans where they live and they would eat that so it is kind of a good idea to do that and show other ppl and little kids what the dolphins can do and the trainers feed them fish not garbage...
cutiepie9748 10 months ago
@CaliforniaTravelTips Fritzl´s kids who were born in that house felt good since they never saw the real world. They wouldn´t survive in the wild.
