  • hi your playing guitar classcial great i love it yur play .can you send me your dvd show me how to play ,?i vill pay cost your think?

  • what kind of arpeggio are you giving it??

  • Thanks for the time you spent teaching this. Its too bad you have to put up with bullshit comments from pompous idiots who can't even spell.

  • wow .. you so great :)

  • Master

  • Love ur hands man !!!!

  • good lesson

  • why drop d?

  • Don't finger the D.

  • Excellent video. What make and model guitar are you playing?

  • @dskap201 Thank you, The guitar is a Dake Traphagen flamenco. Actually more of a classical/ flamenco hybrid

  • can i use acoustic guitar to play this? i dont have a classical one

  • Respond to this video... w8 how r u playing G

  • Awesome! Thank you! I was looking everywhere for someone to break it down with the chord progressions and you did! Muchas gracias! =) You made this much easier!

  • Yeah, I file them so they don't catch on other strings or it would be hard to play.

  • @taorob3

Did you know that this was the inspiration for Billy Joe Holidays-GreenDay's basket case!! Speed up the play all but the last two chords and you have 'basket case'...Do you have the time to listen to me whine...no..ok!

  • Wow you got there a huge finger nail. i hate to play with finger nails its always catch other strains.

  • How do you play G? i PLay it 3rd fret 6th string open, 5th string 2nd fret, 4th string 2nd fret, 3rd string 1st fret, 2nd string open, 1st string open

  • @2h4d0wDK Its drop d tunning so a G chord will be played the same except fret the 5th fret six string instead of the 3rd fret.

  • Are you in drop D?

  • @jgrave10 , yeah drop D

  • Great great guitar player teacher. i bought a classical guitar after I saw this and I am on lesson 3 now :)

  • Thanks!

  • if i capo on the 2nd bar is it will be easier or harder

  • can i please ask hw u play G..

  • @Scallop10v3 Hi. I usually play it 5th fret on the 6th string, open 4th, open 3rd, open 2nd or the other way I play it is 5th fret on the 6th string, 5th fret on the 4th string, 4th fret on the 3rd string and 3rd fret on the 2nd string.

  • Comment removed

  • @taorob3 oo thx... would it b the same if u press normal G with 2nd fret5th string and 3rd fret 6th and 1st string?

  • @Scallop10v3 I usually dont play the 5th string when I play the G chord (atleast in the first lesson)

  • Sorry my friend but I can hardly believe you're a classical guitar player when holding your guitar like that. Unless you're self-taught.

  • @Poisonseed I never said I was a classical guitar player. My main style is electric, I just dont have any videos posted.

  • @taorob3 My mistake then. I noticed the fingernails and drew the conclusion. :) Since you're interested in classical though, I'd suggest you change that stance because it might be comfortable but it lacks in stability and actually locks down your right hand.

  • @Poisonseed Thanks for the advice, I have taken tons of lessons from professional classical guitarists and flamenco guitarist also over the years and aware of the proper technique. I just chose the casual way because it feels better for me. Thanks, take care

  • dude is it just me, or having longer nails really helps to play classical style? I was following your "prelude" lessons but I recently got an injury on my left hand so I have to cut my nails and I simply can't play this with finger style!

  • @CoocaColaa sorry, left and right hand* lol

  • hey its not just you i cant even understand or hear what he talking

  • what tuning?

  • it's a great lesson....

    but pretty hard to follow...

    but i like it....

  • I liked it. pretty understandable and its a hard song to teach. thanks

  • ahahaha i cross my legs when i play guitar to!

love the video BTw man and keep on rocking!

  • whats the finger placement for the chord after f sharp minor?

  • @Glycerine24 F#m 2nd fret=barré 4th fret= 4th and 5th strings

  • 2:45 what is he doing?

  • we can't even see the strings by..fuck sakes

  • SPEAK LOUDER DUDE ! -_-'

  • Very good lesson, but I couldn't hear it all: you need a mic for your voice!

Other than that, the pic is cear, and your movements are easy to follow!

    Thanks so much!!

  • which strings (size) you have? :)

    btw I LOVE IT :))

  • Hi. man i cant ear the chords clearly, can you write here. Sorry if i´m causing some disturbs for you.

  • thank you . you are awesome

  • not enough notes for my ear :D

im learning it now and i play more notes in each chord

  • Maybe it's just me... but I can't hear a word this dude is saying!!

  • I agree that alot of these lessons are hard to follow after viewing them myself. Since ive had so many requests for tabs Im planning to repost the whole lesson series with the tab texted in and less talking. I really think it will be more concise and easier to follow

  • Nice one mate! That would be great!

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Keep going.

  • Im glad to, thanks for watching.

  • Thanks Taorob.

  • Thank you.

  • Thank you, I love your lesson, it completes me. my blood flows. thank you very much.

  • Thanks for the nice comment

  • Thank you so much !

This means a world to me,

    can't thank you enough.

    You're great.

    Kindest Regards.

  • Thank you very much!

  • umm where does he tell you how to strum

  • im stuck at 5:35, no idea where to place my fingers

  • great tutoorial man!! just the version and explanation i was lookin for! 5 stars

  • is this standard tuning?

  • @platypus2dane: no, it's dropped D (drop the E -6th- string two semi-tones). ;)

  • haaaa thanks

  • You hold a guitar in the position that comes natural to you, the player. There is no "wrong way" to hold the thing.

  • i mean like other than major and minor

  • what are some good chord types for classical guitar?

  • May I have your opinion on something? You play the A chord with C-sharp - E - A on the top three strings. Dont you think that a garden-variety A chord with a bar on the second fret of the D, G, & B strings would have a richer sound here?

  • Im not sure what exactly what an garden variety A chord is but I dont think a barred A chord at the 2nd fret has any different sound if fingered in another way, thanks for taking time to comment.

  • hey sounds good...but jus wondering u can play this without tuning the 6th string to D? play jus using standard tuning?

  • I have seen one version of this without tuning the 6th string down to D. If I can find it I'll let you know what it is.

  • i see...thanks man!!! btw ur lesson is awesome and u are really good! ive only been playing for close to a year. so not tht good yet...

  • Why would you want to do that? You need that low D to give richness to your D chords. It's quite a satisfying sound. You really should go with the dropped-D tuning.

  • very Good, thanks

and guys don't forget to turn the 6th string in D

  • @JEFFMELO thx he dont say that like hes fking stooned now i got it

  • @JEFFMELO so tunning is drop d?

  • hey man.....i just wanted to thank you...like i personally really appreciate the time you have put into making tutorials and stuff...i will learn this song, and many thanks to you...God bless you and take care:)

  • Thank you very much

  • Do you use your pinky for the 1st string and so on???

  • If your talking about my right hand, no I dont. I dont use it at all.

  • CLASSICAL GUITAR! ME WANT!

  • this is wonderful :)

  • Thanks I got it but, can't make out ur version of G :c, PLEASE explain further

  • hey for g all you have to do is just press down on the 5th fret of the 6th string and thats g in drop d tuning. so play 5th fret on the 6th string the play the 2nd 3rd and 4th strings open

  • The 6th string is tuned down 1 step (2 frets) so the G note is now on the 5th fret of the sixth string.

  • Oh...I guess Xguardian already explained it. thanks

  • man thats amazing I must learn it

  • All those lessons are for the same song?

  • i love the sound of that song.

  • Wow! i love your thumbnail. . .

  • cool thumb nails!

  • woahhhhhhhhh what a long thumb nail.

  • Thank you for the clear explaination and you patient

  • great vid, i've been trying to play this for a while now and this is by far the best tutorial i've seen.

    nice one........ any Bach ?

  • Thanks. A plus!!!! This lesson is quite inspirational. I also tend to blend versions of songs into a finished version.

I find the 'F' a bit difficult so changed the fingering to keep the rythm going until I can do your version (I bar the first 3 strings only and the 4th fret on the low E. Your version is addicting but what a positive addiction!

    Thanks from Canada

  • How do u tune ur guitar to D? pls pm me?

  • you know how your suposed to tune it to E?

well make is really flat, untill it's D

  • you tune the guitar down a half step on the low E string

  • Whole step down on low E. Half step is D#.

  • tune all strings a full step down,

  • TABS

  • you can find the tabs here also in youtube but first, type in "canon in d fingerstyle" then click more info...

then you can find the link

  • where can i download the tab of this song. please help me.

  • thanks soo much dude...!!

  • awesome! i can play this on piano but this is what ive been looking for!

a little louder would be good...

  • What they mean by canon in D (Guitar)..?

  • no its the note is in D..

it would be a canon C but the ori starts with D..so many ppl use D

  • i actually prefer standard tuning because then you can just use major chords

  • Its the key signiture of the song, D major.

  • i have no idea what is going on!

    lol

  • anybody can help me??i cant download this video cause password and username required.where i can get the pass and username??thx b 4

  • thanks for posting this video

  • hey the playin is excellent bt u should have compiled all things in one video....wud hav been eezy 4 downloaders!!!

  • videos have time limits. could create a playlist though.

  • can i have a tab of this??

    tnx for the video!

    i like it

    it gives me an idea!

    yeah

  • Great idea! Nice effort, cool rendering.

  • man tooooooooo gooooooood

  • this is the first time I've ever played until my fingers bled. No really, but I can't quite see how that G chord is fingered. Someone show me.

  • I'm not sure, I'm a real beginner, but for some reason it sounds like he is playing the first string third fret in the G, but when you watch the video, its not there, maybe he dubbed some different sound over it. Call me crazy, but it doesn't sound right unless you add that note

  • the song is played drop d tunning so the G is not where always has been in standard tunning so you have to play it in the 5 fret and the rest open.

PS: DROP D TUNNING IS THAT THE 6 STRING IS A D NOT A E SO YOU HAVE TO put out of tune down the 6 string that WHEN YOU TOUCH THE 7 FRET OF THE 6 STRING SOUNDS LIKE THE 5 STRING

  • if you listened to different versions, you will realize theres alot of different versions...wow thats genius!

  • wow! exelent work thanks I learned the pice thanks to you Maestro!

  • I have heard so many versions and you have put togeather the best of all of them. Well done!!

  • does it matter how u hold the guitar... it looks different from how everyone else holds it.... i find ur way more comfortable :S

  • thing is if you are right handed and put your guitar on your left leg it gives you much more flexibility in your hand so you can play in a much more subtle way . if you put your guitar on the leg as your hand you tend to play moving your arm .

  • kk fair enough... i should get a teacher...lol

so moving the arm is bad?

  • moving the arm too much instead of just your hand is 1) tiring

    2) it is more meant for folk/rock guitar players . the right hand + left leg makes it easier to stay closer to your strings , at least when you start . try it yourself and try to see how it feels . I think it makes it much easier to practice the tremolo for example . I was taught this position by my teacher , thing is always forget to do it myself .

  • wow... good advice from you. bravo ^^

  • THANK YOU! VERY DETAILED AWESOME!

  • thks for this i LOVE this song, i play electric and have been studying claasical 4 6 months and am now getting stuck into this cheers
