rotaryrebel - random unrelated question...did travis write and compose every little detail that went into the song dancing with the wind? i know he writes and composes every DOTN song, but Dancing With The Wind inparticular, theres horns and all sorts of other instruments/voices in that song.. how in the hell did he come up with that song out of thin air? that song has absolutely blown my mind on numerous occasions.
great post thanks. At 1:20 is that the guy from The Hangover standing behind Travis i swear it looks just like him i thinks his name is Zack something. Do you have any videos or audion from any South Caroina, thats my State and would love to hear anything he did here. Thanks agian.
@sawdoff1100 --- ahahahahahhaah ahahahah lmao - that would be my good friend "Bubba" lol he usually gets mistaken for Seth Rogan (the guy from Pineapple Express lol) - I do have some stuff from Charleston, SC @ Halligan's January 15, 2010 - it time I will put up something from that show.
Very sad about Mike Starr. Alice in Chains is top 3 bands of all time. It's funny because I listen to a lot of moe./Led Zeppelin/Frank Zappa/Grateful Dead and weird jamband music, & I'm not by any means a depressed person, but when I want to listen to a song that gets right to the point and hits hard, I pop in days of the new or alice in chains. Doesn't get much more real than those guys!
Damn thats sick man. Over the last 2 years Travis Meeks has become one of my favorite artists to listen to. I saw him play about a half hour gig in New Hampshire 2 years ago. People in the crowd were laughing/talking shit about how late he was but minutes into him opening up with ''Orch of the Medium'' - he shut everyone right the fuck up!
I had never heard that song until that night, or much DOTN for that matter, but I was blown away. Been listening to him ever since
the shows down south - I wasn't present for the SC shows. And the 3 FL shows this week were/are cancelled so that Travis may attend his late friend Mike Starr's funeral in Seattle, WA. And the shows coming up after that in TX and such I will not be present for them either as I also run a Fireworks Retail Store in Ft. Wayne, IN that keeps me from going out as often as I would like.
lol @ HowieJH - I'm old school - I grew up with Meeks and two of the other original members that went on to Tantric. Travis is a good friend and anytime he's doing a show that I'm able to make it to no matter where it may be, I'm there with bells on to support and help out with video cameras and audio equipment in tow at all times lol.
For this paticular show I was actually on the road with the band driving and being the tour manager/stage tech.
rotaryrebel - where the hell do you get all these awesome videos/audio recordings?
Travis/Days of the New are currently doing a set of shows down south - you have any updates/recordings of those shows (assuming they ended up happening)
