I love the 1J and 2J platform, but it still really impressive to me that a Z06 is that fast. I mean it was almost as quick as a T67 on 20psi! That's pimp in my book. But I still love the sc300 because of it's uniqueness. Wish I could find a decent one to do a build. Awesome platforms!

@408xbaoheeezy You can actually polish them with a car cutting compound...You need to put it in the oven @ 80 degrees centigrade and quickly pull it out and start prying around the seams with 2 flat screwdrivers, repeat 3-5 times as the jointing glue goes hard as it cools. Polish the inside, reheat and push back together! It really does work. My car failed a warrant of fitness it was so bad, so I tried this. =)
@erving1231 Problem is that the fog is on the inside too, buffing the outside will fix some of the problem but not all. I tried the outside but then had to remove the whole thing as it just didn't do it good enough.
It was always going to go down this way, when they took off the sc300 was not at full boost so he fell behind. Once it hit boost it started catching up. The problem is that you can't hit full boost unless the car is under load, just cruising will not net you full boost. The best way to combat this is too brake boost which basically means keeping your foot on the brake while accelerating to create load and boost. Not very good for your car though.
im sure he would built it...i dont think a 2jzge would handle 20lbs of boost thrown at it..espically from a big t67...usually the n/a-T dont get same results then one thats already turbo to begin with...
@jsaulgodoy this is true, however the money you save will result in a better garage build... I'd bolt on a turbo to an NA engine and then buy a GTE and build it in my garage.. by the time the NA blows up, youve got a beast waitin to be dropped in...

Yea I was gonna say lol. The Toyota sounds like a jet with all that boost vs a stock LS1 6 speed. So what happens when you line it up with a 2007 Z06 with 505 hp or a new ZR1? The Z06 in this video is equal to a base model Corvette now. Actually, I think the newer base model 'Vettes make 400 hp and the older LS1 C5s are at like 380.

Besides a 2.5mm head gasket, it's a 100% stock 2JZ-GE motor. Internals, bottom end, valvetrain, cams, head: all stock. It's a 3.0L Inline 6 motor, IDENTICAL to that of a 93-97 NA supra, and a 92-97 NA SC300. At the time I was on a W58 transmission and the stock auto rear end, so I was only limited to ~160mph. I later swapped the w58 for a R154 (from a MK3 supra / turbo Soarer), and installed a 3.76 rear end from a TT auto supra,and was able to achieve 185+mph with ease. Thanks for the comments!
i would also like to know what fuel manegment and injectors. Stock fuel pump? I plan on using Aem Emanage, how did your w58 hold up and what clutch did you go with?
@alleyezonmyvr4 actually it wasnt identical, from 95 on the 2jzgtte and gte were equipt with an oil injected cooling system helping with compression also and a larger lift on the top end. the internal bore remained the same through all the models but the 95 model was the first to boast the 320 crank horse power.
Sorry, I know your all ragging on this guy for thinking it has a 1j in it but at the same time you should all realize how freakin easy it is to drop the 1jzgte motor into the sc. mkIII supra front half shaft and the 2jzge belly pan (rear sump) swapped over (unless uve got a stock soarer/mkIII 1j). mechanically thats it other then powersteering lines/electrical. I know i missed other shit but I lived in Okinawa for 2 years I know the difference between the soarer and states sc.
I dont care what year Sc300(US) anybody has...Fact: from late 1991 to 2000 it was equipped with a 2JZ-GE. Now in japan known as the Toyota Soarer, it was equipped with the 1JZGTE 91-96, from 97-00 with the MKIV Supra's Notorious 2JZGTE. also the 1UZ 4.0 Soarer aka the SC400 ran from 92-00 being replaced in 01 by the SC430.
Sorry mate but in Australia we get the soarers as grey imports. I have one sitting in my driveway and none of them have a 2jz-gte motor as standard. The upgrade you speak of from 97-00 was to put vvti and a single turbo on the 1jz. For anyone who really cares (can't be many) refer to this guide.
As for the video, this car has all the go and show you could ever want in a car. Love the hid headlights and turning lights.

Never heard of an sc300 with a ijz. The 2jz is a three litre engine whether or not it is turbo hence sc300. The sc400 is a v8 (quad cam from memory) 4litre engine hence sc400. The jap spec toyota soarer has comes with either the v8 motor, a twin turbo 1jz (2.5litre), or in the later models a 1jz single turbo with vvti. Either way, I love the lexus/soarer best value car in the world.

Damn defcom you should take your own advice and do a bit more e-research before talking. Not only did the 2JZ come in several other Toyota and Lexus models, it didn't even come in the Supra first, the first car the 2JZ came in from the factory was the Aristo.

Besides a 2.5mm head gasket, it's a 100% stock 2JZ-GE motor. Internals, bottom end, valvetrain, cams, head: all stock. It's a 3.0L Inline 6 motor, IDENTICAL to that of a 93-97 NA supra, and a 92-97 NA SC300. At the time I was on a W58 transmission and the stock auto rear end, so I was only limited to ~160mph. I later swapped the w58 for a R154 (from a MK3 supra / turbo Soarer), and installed a 3.76 rear end from a TT auto supra,and was able to achieve 185+mph with ease. Thanks for the comments!

i would also like to know what fuel manegment and injectors. Stock fuel pump? I plan on using Aem Emanage, how did your w58 hold up and what clutch did you go with?

@alleyezonmyvr4 actually it wasnt identical, from 95 on the 2jzgtte and gte were equipt with an oil injected cooling system helping with compression also and a larger lift on the top end. the internal bore remained the same through all the models but the 95 model was the first to boast the 320 crank horse power.

Sorry, I know your all ragging on this guy for thinking it has a 1j in it but at the same time you should all realize how freakin easy it is to drop the 1jzgte motor into the sc. mkIII supra front half shaft and the 2jzge belly pan (rear sump) swapped over (unless uve got a stock soarer/mkIII 1j). mechanically thats it other then powersteering lines/electrical. I know i missed other shit but I lived in Okinawa for 2 years I know the difference between the soarer and states sc.

I dont care what year Sc300(US) anybody has...Fact: from late 1991 to 2000 it was equipped with a 2JZ-GE. Now in japan known as the Toyota Soarer, it was equipped with the 1JZGTE 91-96, from 97-00 with the MKIV Supra's Notorious 2JZGTE. also the 1UZ 4.0 Soarer aka the SC400 ran from 92-00 being replaced in 01 by the SC430.

Sorry mate but in Australia we get the soarers as grey imports. I have one sitting in my driveway and none of them have a 2jz-gte motor as standard. The upgrade you speak of from 97-00 was to put vvti and a single turbo on the 1jz. For anyone who really cares (can't be many) refer to this guide.
As for the video, this car has all the go and show you could ever want in a car. Love the hid headlights and turning lights.

The c5 z06 has a 5.7L ls6 which makes 450hp and around 360rwhp stock and it weighs 3100lbs.

Never heard of an sc300 with a ijz. The 2jz is a three litre engine whether or not it is turbo hence sc300. The sc400 is a v8 (quad cam from memory) 4litre engine hence sc400. The jap spec toyota soarer has comes with either the v8 motor, a twin turbo 1jz (2.5litre), or in the later models a 1jz single turbo with vvti. Either way, I love the lexus/soarer best value car in the world.

The sc400 has a 4.0L V8, the SC300 has the 2jz (aka supra motor for your idiotic mind).
I say it's not a supra motor because the 2jz was actually develloped for the sc300 douche bag. The supra also uses an sc300 frame, tool. You clearly know nothing about supras or SC (soarers). Otherwise you never would have asked that question...

umm you are the only one who is wrong dickhead. This Lex is a Na-t, check the other vid on the under the hood view of the dyno pull. The Intake goes over the head is your 1st clue, 2nd Sc300s come with a 2jz-ge not a fuckin 2.5TT 1jz found in the Jdm Soarer. I dont even have one and I knew that.

ALL SC300'S AND non-V8 limited SOARERS CAME WITH 1JZ INLINE SIXES!!!! PERIOD, look that shit up man, its not that difficult. ONLY the supra, its sister car, carried the 2JZ. Specifically you got 1JZ-GE in the early years and in later years a 1JZ-GE with VVT and an optional 1JZ-GTE. I dont know where your getting your info from, but your wrong......i deal with toyota/lexus from 9 to 5 every day buddy.

actually SC300 comes with a NON vvti 2jz unlike the IS300, Non vvti engines internals are just as strong as 2jzGte, just missing oil squeters look it up. Currently the 2JZ-GE is the one that holds the record for the most HP on stock buttom end over 900rwhp.

Damn defcom you should take your own advice and do a bit more e-research before talking. Not only did the 2JZ come in several other Toyota and Lexus models, it didn't even come in the Supra first, the first car the 2JZ came in from the factory was the Aristo.
