I think that consumerism is perpetuating the problem. Our E-Waste is destroying the world, Starbucks coffee is not fair trade (they have one fair trade coffee and it is not brewed, it is pressed on request) and our clothes are made in factories where conditions are atrocious and workers are paid a fraction of what we would consider a livable income. How could more consumerism solve the problem? Just my humble opinions. Take it with a grain of salt, I'm still learning.
