U r supposed to be a journalist & u think loyalist terrorists are called 'protestants'?
The fight that went on wasnt religious & was inevitable after irish catholics were refused housing,electionsfixed,job allocation fixed,were excluded from 'the proetstant ulster for protestant people'& the unionist facist regime persecuted catholics to feed their imperial pride.

i dont think you should simplify it into a religious conflict. remember that had britain accepted the overwhelming irish vote on independence over 90 years ago then none of this would have happened. thank god ireland looks like it will be reunited in the near future. also remember, the IRA on average killed the lowest number of civilians out of all the groups

the british and loyalists certainly targetted civilians at least twice as much as the IRA did
