  • Still scary!

  • Bring Back The Channel 4 Blocks, Fourscore and the clocks! Search for this on Facebook! :)

  • That channel 4 logo was awesome, it's a shame they don't use it now because it suits channel 4.

Channel 4 used to good at one point, now it just shows Big Brother and all that crap. The only best thing (in my opinion) is either repeats of friends, the Simpsons or smallville (even though I don't watch it, but I think my friend does)

  • C4 is now a populist channel for council estate kids. im only 18 but i far prefer the offerings of BBC2 and BBC4!!!

And ive actually removed both Five and ITV from my television :D

  • You may be only 18 but you sound like an 80 year old! Also, what's your problem with council estate kids? You sound very high and mighty for a young person! I'm sorry for the rest of us mere mortals breathing in the same air as you!!

  • tbh, i was a stuck-up bastard a few months ago. But i hate mainstream media anyway.

and i'm Aspergic, which accounts for me sounding way older than i actually am.

  • Sorry to hear you are aspergic, but what have you got against the mainstream media?

  • Because it's mainly the crap that is Heat! mag, The Sun or Celebrity Big Brother. I also hate talent shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, as it takes celebs and makes them even more famous, rater than getting a complete unknown onto the television.

I personally prefer the "older" ITV, with Catchphrase and deent CITV (I was a CITV kid). Same with the BBC. I'd rather watch Noel's House Party over Strictly!!!

So, it's *modern* mainstream media that I hate.

  • I probably agree with most of what you say especially Noel's house Party (Ant and Dec's poor imitation does not even come close!) and CITV. They say we have more choice in TV but that is a fallacy! The TV companies put out the same old drivel day in and day out. People can get too nostalgic about the "old days" in television but in this case they are right. Sky and the like have a lot to answer for!

  • It's not just Sky. It's the government not limiting how many channels Sky can broadcast.

All was well back in the days of the old Sky Analogue system.

ITV have even considered selling off production of Corrie to an independent company and are also considering selling their Leeds (ex Yorkshire Television) studios. I'd be very surprised if they survive this recession!!!

  • ITV are in terminal decline I'm afraid. They even want to try and save themselves by merging with Channel 4& 5. Even though C4 are in trouble themselves they would be well advised to stay away from ITV! ITV are the opposite of King Midas in that everything they touch turns to you know what!

  • Exactly. As Sky is so big, I would reckon that Sky should buy out the whole of ITV. That's the only way to save a once powerful brand imo.

  • Aidan Aidan Aidan

  • Well said and very true. It lost its way years back,

  • Why not pitch a breakfast programme?
