Any idea how I can get my 914, 2.0 litre, dual Webers - Engine to pass Emissions? It has a Cat, timing seems good. Running A little rich though? Ive turned down the Carbs as low as possible - to where it barely idles. To pass I need 300 or less, Im at around 400? Just thought Id ask..
because some people don't care about poise, balance, center of gravity, roll center, handling, integrity of the original design, being a redneck, etc.
Nice car, I have one of these, not finished yet although very driveable, just curious, what gearbox are using? I have a 930 box all ready to go in, starting to wonder if I need it, thanks, Paul
@pcbondart Anything more than 450ft/lbs torque go with a g50.....915 will do fine.....just chiming in with my limited experience.Check out Rod Simpson Hybrids.....porschev.com
I definitely like the clean lines of this car. I intentionally did not go with the ugly square flares or fiberglass body kits, this car has seen no bondo.Characteristically it’s an amazing vehicle she holds a corner like a scalpel at 100mph on half throttle yet at full throttle becomes a drifter car as is overpowered by the torque of the chev V8, it’s like two cars in one:) Admittedly it takes a while to learn to drive and she can get away from you quickly if your not carefull.
NICE car, tastefully done, smooth quiet motor (anyone who's ever floored it through an intersection with the law waiting on the red knows what I'm getting at) and you didn't butcher the body trying to be a countacharossa. (916 flares are sweet)
My first car was a 914, I recall the liabilities of lifting off throttle in mid apex. Does the V8 make that much worse, or have you learned to live with it? 4 sports cars later I settled into an 86 z51 corvette, only the stupid could spin it.

Beautiful Car. Where did you get the Metal Sides instead of the Vinyl for the Roof ???
xtraflo 8 months ago
@xtraflo
It's not a replacement part, the vinyl has just been removed from the sail panel. My '70 is the same way.
