  • Robin Finck is my god!!!!!!

  • Complex and confusing. I love it. Awesome symbolism, fuck what people say, Trent is still a god.

  • I like this when I'm stoned...I like it when I'm sober too but I'm stoned right now so I'm gonna go with that option

  • Thank you for existing, Trent.

  • jesus every video i watch everyones arguing!!! SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC

  • I can't believe we're letting you youtube commenters get away this kind of stuff. Quit arguing.

LETTING YOU GET AWAY WITH IT

    *guitar*

  • Wow... I wouldn't even consider this jumbled mess of arrhythmic noise music. If this is the best Trent can do now then NIN is dead to me. Sad day. RIP

  • @EvenTheOdd Then allow Trent to be dead to you. None of the other people who enjoy this song really... care. :/

  • @bluephreakr So you're replying to an opinion you don't care about in order to make it known that you don't care about it?

  • @EvenTheOdd plz shut uuuuuuuup u sound like my 5-yearold nephew

  • @Domavain1 Go parrot your pretentious witlessness to someone who was actually speaking to you.

  • This just makes me want to go wild! Try playing a FPS game like Call of Duty or Halo to this and you'll know what I mean.

  • @Isiliandithe exhausting, intense orgasm, superhardcore experience, practically emotionally enthralling

  • BEST song on the album!!!!!

  • i play this when I want to vent. Feels good

  • This song will never get played on the radio!!

  • this may come as a shock but this song does not sound very good layered over Bob Dylan's "One More Cup of Coffee" i know what most of you are thinking "what??? how can that not sound good, heavy industrial music over slow folk/country, its perfect" but take it from me, ive heard better

  • not better, just different.

  • 2 people won't be let getting away at all...

  • Best song from The Slip

  • @InterruptingSheepInc I love 1,000,000 too. These two are my favorites.

  • Listen to this on acid

  • Pure unparaleled industrial rock at it's most awesomest...

  • No yiur all wrong, this is better

  • if trent had never got political with his lyrics I probably wouldn't have ever liked NIN as much

  • I find most of Reznor's work after the "fragile" to be repetitive, uncreative and boring. This in not an exception.

  • @lustriecki eh your loss, ask yourself if you've heard a song on the fragile (besides starfuckers inc.) that sounds like other stuff you've heard?

It doesn't have to appeal to you but how can you call it uncreative?

  • @lustriecki I find your youtube comment to lack luster and emphasis

  • Ima be movin' to Canada soon lol

  • Far more alternative and noisy that With Teeth definetely, thou i really liked with teeth, more striped down but with more catchyness!

  • LOL anyone talking about war your wrong trust me I know as I'm an NCO in the united states marine corps. We are pulling out of iraq and we are pulling out of afghanistan in 2011.

  • @DEVINJWILKINS Whats going on in Iran?

  • hahaha YAY! I'm Australian so I'm safe

  • I think this song would have been better with a classic nin abrupt stop with slower far away mystical-type music like in mr. self destruct, still good though.

  • Mmm nah.. i like it in the way it is

  • art is resistance. Year zero - the expansion pack.

  • The only song I really like from this album is Discipline. Everything other then that, on this album, to me, is just a lot of fast beats and distortion. But thats just me.

  • @Zueluzz I felt the same way until I remixed the songs on the NIN site...Trent is in the habit of writing good songs with the same noises and drums over them which kinda ruins them IMHO...

  • @Zueluzz check my remix of this song on my vid page...see what you think...

  • I love this song. Yeah, old NIN was GREAT whatever...

I was there when there was such thing as old-NIN and I can say THIS rocks just as hard

  • I seriously hate this song. Its a decent drum beat for the first 10 - 12 seconds, then large amounts of distortion until the end of the song (with a few short pauses.)

I'm not saying Trent's voice sounds bad, but the distortion in this song isn't good at all.

  • @ZenoEffect banana

  • Good job Zeno

    100 Million 'thumbs down'

    won't change a thing

  • We're letting you get away

    We're letting you get away

    We're letting you get away....

clearly these cunts have no clue

as to what you are talking about.

Keep it up, their masters will reveal

    themselves all to soon

  • yeah dude, its not really an argument, im just saying ford is junk

  • 5 stars interesting conversation. Yes Obama is a bought and paid for fraud. 1 billion valueless US dollars bought 'its' residency. LO_ok it up! Wall Street bought, paid NIN has been ahead of the curb for decades. I wish their fans only had the cognizance of a maggot to figure out wtf Trent has been screaming about all these years. See "Happiness in Slavery" for more details
  • Glad someone knows what they're talking about!

  • well acually thats my ex-gf. lol

  • fuck ford you cock sucka

  • you've got negative responses here. but i think you've got it right on the money. although, i'm not sure of the obama reference. convince me.

  • Definitely a continuation of Year Zero.

  • i dont think so

i think year zero is better

    but this isn't a bad

  • Listen to this song's lyrics. Letting You is probably a continuation of Year Zero. I'm not saying the album as a whole is though...

  • LOL

    thats right

and on the video is the flag of "art is resistance"

  • It makes complete sense.

  • Perhaps it is. 999,999 can probably be the continuation of Zero-Sum.

  • i love this album

  • good tune, good album

  • Better? No. How about, just as fucking awesome as he's always been?

  • What a ravenous sonic assault

  • ^This.

  • Yes it is music. Don't like? Turn it off

  • Don't hate, appreciate.

  • One of my favourite songs

  • what´s wrong with With Teeth? It´s not Broken or Spiral but it´s not bad.

  • yes, he is right... With Teeth is a good album

  • this is a dnb/jungle track!!!

people listen to drum and bass and jungle music... it's the shit!!!

  • This is nothing like DnB or Jungle chap. Just shush before you piss off anyone.

  • has anyone noticed that the way the flag is turned on its side makes it look like the first letter of "Letting", L, and the first letter of "You", Y, for the name of the song?

    Letting You

LY forms the air flag on it's side...

  • that was the point

  • Art Is Resistance! Anyway.. This song is pretty awesome.

  • This song , this band, this is

  • I think for as long as he has been out there he is has sustained a good career, and I think he has gotten better... all his past concerts where more instrumental songs... but now since he is clean the concerts have gotten a whole lot better... I have seen him 4 times in the last 4 years... and it compares nothing to the first time I saw him in 97... it actually sucked then

  • what? way back in the drug days? I would of loved to have seen that tour

  • Drugs or no drugs, "The Slip" is genius. I listen to that shit every day.

  • Comment removed

  • Give Trent a break.

He's still great but he's past his prime.

He's a victim of getting older.

Look at all great song writers(McCartney ect...ect...)their best work was in their 20's and early 30's

  • Your never as good as when your on drugs... think Janes addiction..

  • Honestly, he stumbled a bit on With Teeth. That was NIN far from it's best. Year Zero was a bit of a recovery, but it still wasn't quite as good as NIN in the 90's.

Ghosts and The Slip, however, were a fantastic return to form. The Slip in particular being a perfect pre-hiatus album.

  • I donno... with teeth had some mind blowing songs, mainly "right where it belongs".

I agree with ghosts and the slip though. simply put, they are great and its kind of strange that many NIN fans dislike his recent stuff.

  • Only difference I'm noticing is that Trent is just being more "artistic" and "experimental" with his music. He's trying new things and a lot of his music isn't nearly as raw, emotional, and personal as they used to be.

I just think that the people who bitch about NIN in its current condition are the kinds of people who would hate on a musician mainly because they're mainstream. He's fine where he is and if anyone doesn't like it, no one forces them to listen.

  • Are you retarted? with teeth is one of the best

  • use your ears man! This is the greatest band in history and will be!

  • The audio quality is terrible.

  • best track on the slip

  • i downloaded this album for free of their website

fisrt time i ever heard nine inch nails really and i thought it was amazing

  • I think nine inch nails was awesome back in the 1990's

  • he still is

  • fave

  • Robin Finck is the best!

  • this is pretty cool, and I'm glad Trent got off drugs, the slip is pretty intense, i like all NIN, With Teeth and The Downward Spiral are my favourite cds

  • Art is Resistance

  • lol

  • That's a pretty shitty thing to say. I thought With Teeth was good, I don't like it as much as everybody else but I thought Year Zero is the fucking Bomb.

  • And when you do something great (which is doubtful), we will all tell you how shitty you are.

  • wtf go to hell you fucking ass face, Trent is just as good as he was when he was on drugs, and if you don't think so, FUCK OFF!

  • lmfao, I have to admit, his drugged up days were inspirational, although damaging.

  • @griff323 didn't everyone have a drug habit?

  • @TonyNebula Yes. But its reactions differ between people. For Trent, it was amazingly full of win.

  • @griff323 didn't everyone have a drug habit?

  • This is amazing live.

  • It is :O I loved it.

  • personaly, i dont like his new stuff. my fav album was the fragile (left) and further down the spiral was good two.

  • well i like lyrics so i like their new stuff

  • hmmm. new sound. anyone agree? it is sorta year zero-ish but not entirely. its new definately new. as for how i like it, i'll listen to it a few times before i know. i dont think its as good as 1,000,000 tho that song is great. :)

  • Oh my God, this ties RIGHT into the Year Zero ARG! I didn't even notice before tonight! Why didn't I notice this?!?!

*gone to listen to The Slip again to see if maybe it talks about The Presence too!*

  • very very good!

    ^^

  • trent is the man!!! period!!!

  • ok so this songs intense but it sounds SO MUCH BETTER live!!! go see the lights in the sky tour at any cost and you'll know what i mean

  • thats pretty much every band, snoop dog was amazing live, i dont remember much becuse i got fucked up but i heard it was amazing...

  • ess its shityy my chemical romance lol

  • the best youtube name ive seen haha!

  • gracias.

  • i thought i had the best

  • I personally think Year Zero and The Slip kick The Fragile's ass.

  • i like year zero a lot..and the slip....but the fragile is a fricken masterpiece

  • I personally think that The Fragile isn't one of the best albums...I'm just freakin into Year Zero and The Downward Spiral!! (yes and The Slip)

  • I'm actually listening to this on an MP3 player right now, lolz.

  • Woot for AIR flag. xD

Love the song. Second fave off The Slip =]

  • What's your fav?

Mine is Discipline. I think. It changes.

  • My fave? Oh, I really switch between Head DOwn, Letting You and The Four Of us Are Dying =]

  • Best off the slip i totally agree, plus it has an AIR flag as its track image. Also awesome was this song live :)

  • This is the best song off The Slip, by far

    5/5

  • HA HA HA. It sounded like fast beats on a Casio keyboard. I'm really starting to miss Ministry.

  • Good song, and I love The Slip. But you know what's annoying? The fans that keep on bitching about how different NIN's new music is compared to Pretty Hate Machine and the Downward Spiral. While those are great albums, Trent is an evolving musician, he's not going to sit around and make carbon copies of those albums, so you might as well shut up, or you can just not listen to NIN. Take NIN's new style or leave it.

  • Thank you.

  • hell yeah!

  • I love the fact that Trent is continually evolving - hes a friggin genius but some of the new stuff is kinda weak. I own almost every Halo and have seen them in concert and am travelling to see them out of state - I am a die-hard fan since 94--- the new stuff just isnt that strong- - IMO of course

  • The Slip/Ghosts FTW!

  • thats true, but its hard to tell the diffrence between changing style and changing you style sell more albums

  • fucking yes dude. well said. and besides, who wants to sit there and watch trent effectively release albums over and over again. i. love his new stuff and it's great that he keeps on evolving, as a person, and as a musician

  • My favorite song from the album.

  • amazing percussion

  • How can you think everything on the slip sounds the same? "Letting you", "Discipline", "Lights in the Sky", "Corona Radiata", and "The Four of us are dying" all sound completely different from each other. That's half th album right there. The rest of the songs are the same hard style, but they still don't sound like the same song. They're not even in the same key.

PS. this song is awesome, you've gotta hear it in at least 320kbps though; this youtube quality doesn't do it justice at all.

  • Trent should let go of this "America" issue that he is having. Its impacting his music negatively. All of his new stuff has been pretty lame. With Teeth was pushing it for me, then Year Zero came out and it was meh. And then Ghosts which I really liked, but then The Slip.. and my reaction to it was "WTF?" It all sounds the same. PHM- The Fragile era was the TRUE Nine Inch Nails.

  • Its only you opinion.

    Obviously not a "true" fan.

  • Who are either of you to declare what "true" is? Idiots.

  • FUCK YOU PURE< WHAT IS MUSIC? the last time i checked you made music about shit YOU care about, not what people want to hear....if you do that then your considered: jumping on a "bandwagon" so you listen to something like red or someother bull shit

  • True, music is about what the creator feels, and opinions etc. But this is my just my opinion. I am not jumping on the bandwagon, for NIN and Tool have been my favorite band since 94. So fuck you too, I got freedom of speech bitch. Maybe I would enjoy Trent's music more if it was more like the "downward spiral" sound or "broken" or "The Fragile."

I enjoy music, but I cant stand bands that make a CD and everything on that cd sound the same! Sorry Ripptcompleks but you fail at life.

  • haha, mr funny guy over here...but i agree about "this cd" its not all that good, i like the year zero...this cd don't sound like none of their shit

  • xD yeah.. Year Zero was good, I liked the way he advertised for it also. But just the way he sung in it, didnt really go hard for that part of it.

  • Yeah, the singing part of it..

  • This song is awesome and it's telling us a message... About how far America is corrupted perhaps?

  • my fav cuz his voice and its fast

  • nine Inch nails has always been that sound I can listen to anywhere.

  • i love the fact every song of this album is someone's fav. it shows that the CD is good as a whole AND song by song.

    sweet :)

  • This song is delightfully noisy.

  • this song is absolutely awesome!

  • this is not as good as his

old stuff but its still good!

  • When listening to these songs they remind of songs on Year Zero and With Teeth. Ghost was good. Ghost 2 will be coming after this album is released in CD form.

  • Love this!

  • Trent destroying Techno, about Time.

  • HAPPY B-DAY TRENT!!!!!!!

  • fav song on the cd! and today is trent reznors birthday :D!

  • This song is truly experimental imo i guess that's why people have so many reservations about. I think Trents recent collection of music shows he is truly traversing the unexplored and coming back with might fine treasures. Personally I think this song and 1,000,000 measure up to the whole With Teeth album *wait's for bombardment of criticism*

  • this is an awesome song, but i think the album overall is pretty weak.

still looking forward to the tour this summer, got my fucking floor ticket!

  • WHAT ALBUM!

  • This song reminds me of a mix between you know what you are and the prodigy. By the way "Head down" is my fav song on this new album.

  • I'll second that :D

  • Looks and sounds like Year Zero with a mix of You Know What You Are? from With Teeth

  • This is great and all, but it just further solidifies that I'll never see anything quite like Broken.

  • Well I imagine hes using the AIR flag b/c hes said that he wanted to do a sedual to Year Zero, and I imagine thats what this is. fucking insane!

  • Genius.......pure.....genius...

  • i ve been listening to the songs from the slip, its clear that reznor is enjoying his freedom to make music (two albums in the same year!!) they are interesting though they do sound like highly polished demos.........

  • so anybody curious as to why he used the same flag as he used in the year zero album art for this song?

    wow that sentence is confusing.

  • lol did you listen to the lyrics?

  • The lyrics sound like this would've fit into the whole Year Zero world, and when that flag is turned that way, it looks like the letters "LY".

  • OMG like LY for Letting You, cool never noticed that!!!!!!

  • as much as i hate to say it dinosaurs4breakfast is right dont get me wrong i love NIN's older stuff (everything fom pretty hate machine to with teeth) Trent is just not taking his time to make a quality album he just cares about getting even with the record companies and its showing in his music, all the songs ive listened to so far on this album have started off with a similar sounding drum beat and then they just dont go anywhere musically

  • Saul Williams released his album, the album Trent Reznor helped produce for free before Radiohead released in rainbows. It was Trent's idea to release Williams' album for free, but it recieved much less media attention because he is such a small scale artist compared to Radiohead. Radiohead's release of in rainbows was a rip off. I paid for a the download, only to find I'd received such a low quality download that I'd be better off listening to it from their myspace website.

  • -It let me down tremdously as a fan and I felt pretty cheated when I realised if I wanted the album in decent quality I'd have to go and pay the record company prices anyway for the physical CD. Trent is breaking new ground, his new album has been released both for free and under the creative commons license.

  • It's insane to think that im free to remix his music and pretty much do as I please with it.Regardless of whether you like the music or not, you've got to give the man credit, what he's doing is risky, but look at the stir its creating and what he's doing for the music industry. It's pretty amazing.

  • Go watch a nickelback video then & shut the fuck up
