For many years I thought manual was the better choice (up to the age of 25, I think)...... getting older, however, and on your way to work in the morning you'll cherish driving an automatic ;-)

Since there are good flappy paddles and tiptronic systems now, you can still have great fun, especially with the PDK!

@subzerostorm one reason is because u dont have oil at the top of ur motor when u start the car .. takes a bit for ur oil pump to get oil throughout the entire motor. thats just one reason... and a good enough reason not to do it

yea this cars automtic with tiptronics. it also has porsches new pdk gearbox which brings its 0-60 time down to 4.3 seconds

@landers111 No they don't. I'm from Europe and more and more people are driving automatic. Especially because a lot of cars can't be ordered with manual anymore (6 cillinder Mercedes for example) or because they simply prefer it. Especially luxury cars with manuals are rare, maybe the odd ball who has a Ferrari or a Turbo and enjoys shifting a lot. You also have to remember that nowadays a lot of automatics shift faster than manuals (PDK from Porsche). Mostly only regular cars are still manaul.

They want to go from A to B in the most comfortable, easy way. Automatics are a part of that, they don't have to shift so they can be lazy. I am ccnsidering to buy Cayman. The drawback I have is that I do not like sound of Porsche engines. I used to have Alfa Romeo V6 with ANSA muffler. I used to take my Alfa to closed parking just to hear its exhaust sound. I think Porsche does not sound bad with the sports exhaust system.(I may order Cayman.) Only fools rev cold engines! It takes at least 3 minutes for the oil to warm up properly, even in Porshe engines, even with the best Motul ester oils. He is going to restore the engine - soon.

I'm a Porsche guy and I'd take this car in a second over any Corvette, but the fact is that they are very capable cars at a bargain price. I dislike the cheapness of the Vette interior and the exhaust note does nothing for me, but they can hold their own on a track.
