  • Dude....I'll be on the second floor....fuck that..

  • wasnt this supposed to be done by now?

  • @Pasteldqueijo Pasteldqueijo I think you're right. There was supposed to be one in Moscow too... the credit crunch continues to bite the backside of those who would build castles in the sand....

  • So awesome!

  • @igorcheteful it wont work cos the plumping and wiring will snap as well as elevators

  • cool idea. thats all though

  • Sorry did anyone think about how human behaves and lives in such a rotating inviroment? they speak about the forth dimension. Well I like the idea but we as architects have to se how a human reacts under these living condicions otherwise its just a problematic utopia... lg from the Bauhaus University

  • @igorcheteful this kind of architecture is "environmental friendly" (i'm not sure if this is how it is spelled since my language isn't english)

What you're saying is true, but that is not the job of an architect

  • I'll take my house in the mountains made out of rocks from the mountain as well as trees from the forest that surrounds it, use fresh water from the stream in gravity assisted plumbing and a small wind turbine to power it as well as a small hydroturbine in case it's not windy out. No need to buy gravel for motion sickness heck I'd just rather live in the Wayne Manor down in the Batcave.

  • Sir(s): Thank you for this Informative Architectural Rendition and Fine Visionary Version of Building.--J.D.

  • @igorcheteful totally agree! these were exactly my thoughts

  • Wow!

  • Why?

  • When I was small (about 12) I called Piet Blom, a Dutch architect who built the 'tree houses'. I asked him how much they cost so I could save to buy one to live in it. He was very sweet, listened and actually answered. "They are quite expensive." he said. "I get pocket money now." I answered. I was hopeful. I saved. But I never lived in a tree house.

Now that I live in a nice yet static house I see this and marvel again. Will I ever...?

  • This isn't the first dynamic structure but sure is the first dynamic tower :)

  • You got the music and idea from 2001: A space odyssey

  • Simplement genial!!! J'ai bcp aimé...

  • their must be no stairs or if it does it would be narrow because it has to be in the center with the elevator...so it would be hard to evacuate everyone from the building? ...maybe the hallways don't move only the rooms? how do you get to the rooms anyway?...it would be confusing.

  • Recipe for (comedic) disaster.

  • that's the way for profitable architecture.

  • will you get dizzy?

  • This looks very interesting, but I've got alot of questions: How much electricity/energy would this take to keep moving? This vid says that the building is always moving....how much energy does that take up? Would the little turbines be enough to actually power the whole thing? How sturdy is this tower? What if the tower broke down? Would the people be able to get out of it? What sort of weather resistance does it have? Terror attack response/resistance? This tower is very interesting :)

  • @seanthedonconsidine

They will have wind turbines that get 70% of the energy to make the whole building rotate. And this will be done in 2012 in dubai

  • That's good, but I've heard this tower will be self-sustaining. Where will the rest of the electricity come from to power the whole building, not just talking about rotation?

  • Thats a good question. On some other videos it says that these wind turbines will get all the energy for the building but thats not true. so that means that they will have to pay for the rest.

  • That's unfortunate. I would like to see a completely self-sustaining building constructed. I suppose that is the ultimate goal, the prized ideal, the light at the end of the tunnel.

This tower is just another step toward that goal I suppose :)

  • @seanthedonconsidine yes, the turbines will be enough to actually power the whole tower and other towers too

  • @seanthedonconsidine It can produce energy not only for the tower itself but for seven others :)

  • cheesy script

  • did you know if you own a Timeshare and have a II membership you can use the II membership to stay in tis building?

so think about it how much is per night to stay there if you don't have a vacation membership, you missing out for so Less money, so get involved and take advantage of this great place.

  • Hi Absent in Romania, As far as I know the music at the beginning of the video is part of Also sprach Zarathustra, op. 3), a tone poem by Richard Strauss, composed in 1896 and inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche's prose poem Also sprach Zarathustra.

It contains the World Riddle theme, a particular sequence of musical notes in the melody.

Among many of its uses it includes that of Stanley Kubrick as the key musical motif in his 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

  • what`s the name of the song?Great Video!
