  • @damon1721

That would actually make it harder you ignorant fucking queer.

  • No he didn't pull 1100. There may have been 1100 loaded, but that bar had so much flex in it because of the length that all the weight didn't leave the ground until the bar was above his knees. Completely different lift...still impressive non the less.

  • to everyone that thinks he can deadlift more, he can. he did an 1100 pound pull at the arnold classic with the big tires on the bar. but he was allowed to use straps. i'm sure we haven't seen the last of benedikt's deadlifting skills yet.

  • Comment removed

  • i think he could pull 1200lbs equipped for sure!

  • This was a nice lift. I'm not sure most people think about his weight. This was like a 375 lift at 150lb body weight and there are a lot of people lifting 800-900 under 200lbs. Ed Coan did low 900's at 220lbs.

  • @puppiesNicecream that's true. but there are limits to what the human body can possibly take. muscles can grow and grow but the tendons and various other ligaments in the body are somewhat limiting factors. i believe the record was someone deadlifted 6 times their bodyweight. that would mean at benedikt's bodyweight, a deadlift at almost 2300 lbs would be equivalent. i don't believe this could possibly be achieved, no matter the enhancements.

  • @RampRat1984 You sound like a Professor at a top university! You must of got like 2-3 PhD's in Applied Kinesiology. Is this true?

  • @puppiesNicecream listen, it sounds like you're talking some shit or something. it sounds like a lot of sarcasm. i was just giving my opinion on what the human body is capable of. i actually agreed with your original post. it's just that i think there are limits on the human body. i wasn't trying to start shit. i hope you aren't either.

  • @RampRat1984 No you really sound like you know what your taking about. In this case, really only opinion matters and fact doesn't apply much. I mean comparing people with other people, is the same as ants and elephants with gravity in the mix.

  • @puppiesNicecream ok, i apologize for my last comment. it's just that there are a lot of haters that like to comment on here and it can get kinda nasty. i appreciate the compliment. i guess it's just weird for someone to think that i'm smart like that lol.

  • holy fuck! im more surprised about his hand/grip strength..... is anyone els?

  • He did that EASY!

  • He deadlifts 1015 lbs and then instead of dropping it, he gently puts it back mon the ground. You better be taking notes the wusses that are dropping 135 lbs

  • Who would win a tug-of-war contest: a person who trains only deadlift or a person who trains only bench press, assuming they have similar genes. My answer would be the deadlift person.

Another similar question, of those two, who is stronger? My answer would also be the deadlift person.

Members of my organization are going to compete in a tug-of-war contest soon, and I suggest that they focus on deadlift more.

    What do you think?

  • @Birdpoofool Tug of war is a feat of the entire body. A deadlift is an exertion of the entire body. Deadlifts and squats build functional strength, whereas presses build big show muscles.

  • @borderlander800 Basically you're saying that we should do (olympic) squats and (conventional) deadlifts?

  • @Birdpoofool

Bench press is what fags do as a dick measuring contest. Deadlift is the true display of raw strength.

  • @Birdpoofool Completely agree.

We're not just talking back pressure and leg strength with the tug of war, but the grip as well.

  • @Birdpoofool deadlift, deadlift, deadlift! for one, it trains their grip strength immensely. bench press requires zero grip. the deadlift person is stronger as the lift begins at the hardest point, unlike squatting or benching, where you can feel the weight before starting the hard part of the lift. for tug of war, you are pulling. while benching, you push. you don't have to be an expert to guess what you should focus on.

  • Everyone who automatically assumes someone uses steroids because they are successful at weight lifting are just loosers who will never know the feeling of accomplishing your goals.. hard work, determination and some setbacks will get you places jackass

  • Dude has become one of the 10 best deadlifters in the world.

  • @TheTyler456123 Dude has become *the* best deadlifter in the world.

  • amazing. thought the bar was gonna snap for a second

  • Fatass.

  • Swedish Viking!

  • @Xnevergivupx @zlianHD then go start doing steroids and pull more weight than him, because it's al steroids right?

  • Holy crap that was CRAZY. He made that look like child's play...

  • now try to scratch the top of your head...

  • @xxJASH01xx are you serious?

  • He picked that shit up with ease. I say he can do 1500 +.

  • Fuuucking hell. That is all.

  • Straight beast! He lifted it and then looked around at everyone like "that was easy" lol

  • Wow this is mind blowing. People don't realize what the human body is capable of. If you work hard enough have that never quiet attitude ,the proper conditions met, and faith , you can do it.

  • Can you imagine shaking this guy's hand? His grip is insane.

  • it takes me at least 30 seconds before a heavy set of bench, squats or dead lift to get set and ready and this guy just runs up to the bar and lifts it... damn... not to mention i would be glad to lift one plate on each side...

  • He's ginger and therefor should be disqualified. They're not human afterall.

  • So. Seeing that people can not piss on this deadlift as a lift because it's the purest form of strength where neither depth or bouncing are legit reasons to bitch about, the behind-the-monitor warriors now piss on him by saying that his body is not functional.

    Unbelievable.

  • @lkgurmer ...you can 'cheat' on dead lift as well - just as you can follow the ipf rules on bench press and when you do it without shirt - there is no cheating there at all... ..

  • I want this video on my 5310 XpressMusic phone.

  • Never thought that the phrase "I can lift a TON of weight" could be taken literally :O (iz speechless)

  • @brendon2343 isnt a ton like 900kg?

  • WTF! this guys not even human!

  • no shoes, just socks, no straps, just a weight belt, I love this guy

  • I don't think anyone would argue that a heavyweight strength athlete (PL, Olympic lifter, Discus, Shotput, etc.) typically would not be as athletically "functional" across a broad spectrum of exercises as a triathlete, decathlete, etc., but isn't that a rather obvious statement? It's like saying a Ferrarri is more functional than a tank - obvious at face value - but each machine has a completely different purpose.

  • Is he allowed to do sumo in competition? Wouldn't it be more?

  • this is one of the few powerlifters I respect. I gave up with all the benchers and their retarded bench shirts and I gave up with all the squatters that never go down deep enough. Powerlifting has gone to hell in the past twenty five years. Im glad the deadlift remains as one lift that cant be minipulated with poor judging or stupid shirts and suits.

  • Why does he do it with one hand holding the bar pronated and one suplinated?

  • @DeathMetalThunder helps alot with grip and evening out the tension on your ligiments

  • @DeathMetalThunder so the bar doesnt roll out your hands. if they were both pronated or supinated, the bar will tend to roll out of your hands. when you alternate your grip, one hand prevents the bar from rotating clockwise while the other hand prevents the bar from rotating counterclockwise. give it a shot next time you are in the gym and you will see.

  • @itswhatido100 what I can't get my head around is that there are some monsters out there who do massive deadlifts without an alternate grip or straps, ie both hands facing down! Takes a ridiculous level of grip to do this. There is one on here somewhere but can't remember his name...

  • We are talking here a weight of HALF A TON ... absolutely incredible ... V-E-R-Y impressive :o)

  • That was the best deadlift ever! NO straps!

  • looked like a toy

    1050 next?

  • Watching this video increases your levels of testosterone.

  • Your vid went viral on Dodoma

  • thats andy bolton blown out the water!!does anyone know if this was suited?

  • @reeceyhiggs according to wikipedia, it wasn't.so it's raw, and it's still over what Bolton did. Two years ago, Bolton was the greatest deadlifter in history. In my opinion, this puts Benedikt into alexeev and paul anderson levels: guys that break world records at what looks like or is their 95% max. classic

  • I get it now- he's really angry because someone stole his shoes. Imagine how much he could lift if they stole his socks too

  • I'm confused- why in the worlds strongest man heat I just watched(december 2011) are they saying that 430kg is a new world record? And that was with wrist straps, so wtf?

  • @hexonatapeloop Because WSM events only recognise their own records, and completely ignore the existence of true world records like this. Many WSM "world" records are really nothing more than event/contest records, but they won't ever fess up to that because it's not good for business. So lame.

  • goddddauumm thats a beast rite there bet u he cant wipe his asshole but daumm he probably jus has sum primal scream an the shit just jumps out in fear no wipes needed

  • we're gonna need a bigger bar

  • they get all hyped up then they lift it once ..

  • This is one of the most incredible feats of athletic strength you're likely to ever witness. What only took a matter of seconds to perform was actually the culmination of tens of thousands of hours in the gym, unrelenting perseverance, and a superhuman willpower and sense of purpose. These ingredients are not a secret... but the stuff of champions!!

  • @Dayga dont forget the fact he is a natural beast!

  • @xixkieranxix SUPERnatural beast!!! I've been lifting for over 45 years, seen all the greats (Coan, Reinhoudt, Kazmeier, etc.) and have never witnessed a competitive lift that was as impressive.

  • @Dayga that may be the case, but when are you really ever going to need to lift 1015lbs. It's not even like he got a good body out of all that training, I could easily confuse him as being fat from a distance (he is pretty fat either way). Same with bodybuilders, it's useless and their bodies are disgusting/non-functional as well.

  • @torpstar711 I understand your viewpoint, but the practicality of lifting +1000# really isn't the issue... and misses the entire point of what drives an elite athlete to excel in their chosen sport. And as far as the effect on your physique is concerned, athletes that engage in exercises that emphasize strength, endurance, flexibility, etc., always develop morphology characteristics that are unique to their efforts. Also, most BB's have very functional bodies and are extremely well-conditioned.

  • @Dayga Sure, he excels in his sport and yeah whichever sport you choose you'll have a certain type of body, but you can't argue with me that he has a functional body. Sure, i'll give him well conditioned, but just take a look at olympic sprinters, olympic lifters, mma fighters, football players, gymnasts, etc. Only just a few examples and each one is a 1000x more functional than a body builder/powerlifter

  • @Dayga and genetics

  • @Dayga

    Great post dude.

  • @Dayga Or roids :/

  • @Dayga And alot of help from good old steroids

  • @ziianHD Perhaps. But steroids or not, I'm impressed he can even hold on to that much weight so effortlessly!

  • @Dayga You feat of strength. I wouldn't go as far as athletic but my god. That's like deadlifting a small car

  • @smellif33t and Benedikt is possibly the coolest name ever!

  • classic lifting, shorts, chalk and belt ... great stuff

  • I'm maxing on deadlift today. I think I'm going to scream at the bar before I lift. If its good enough for that beast of a man, its good enough for me.

  • WHAT THE HELL!!!! HOW IS THIS GUY ABLE TO RUN UP TO THE WEIGHT ROLL IT BACKWARDS AND THEN LIFT IT LIKE IT WAS NOTHING....HE COULD HAVE DONE WAY MORE WEIGHT....AND THEN ON TOP OF THAT HE PLACES IT DOWN LIKE ITS NOTHING......I THINK HE COULD PULL 1050

  • @readytorockithard23 he surely is the best deadlifter of all time and only 28 years old! no where to go but up for him!

  • @readytorockithard23 Yeah, that looked like his warmup lift. lol

  • tank

  • The most impressive thing for me was when he controlled the bar back down to the ground like he was placing a cup back on the table. Wow. Just wow!

  • @petekaz1977 Now that's more showmanship than bodybuilding will ever have. The way he screamed at the weights, I would have shit myself if I was that bar.

  • lol fattie, do you even lift?

  • Never ever get bored of watching this......immense!!!

  • fucking beast

  • Fuck is that impressive!

  • Imagine the grip strength to pick up 1,015 off the ground. I struggle holding onto 500.

  • @TheMightykaz i know right... i struggle with 450....couldnt imagine 1015

  • he made that look so easy

  • He could have done like 25lbs + for that deadlift.

  • so much adrenaline aha

  • This is a lift you can't cheat on or get some judge to give you a pass on depth. Just pure, raw, strength and in my opinion the real test of who is the world's strongest man.

  • @vxer1000 Well said. It's the reasons I love the exercise so much, and why so many bodybuilding curl jockeys hate the lift so much :P

  • the definition of inspirational

    2000 next year

  • He could have probally done close to 1050 there. What power.

  • Beastmode engage!

  • wow

  • Fuck he lifted it like it was nothing!

  • Dude is amazing!!

  • And that is why i didn't compete at the ronnie coleman classic

  • I gotta question.... hahaha imagine the strength in his hands!! He gripped 1000lbs lol think about it. His FINGERS are holding over 1000lbs hahaha You haters on here couldn't deadlift 135!!! Hahaha

  • I didn't know Andy Bolton had 18 youtube accounts.

  • @JS8700

he doesnt. nine of those are of konstantinovs

  • It was a raw DL or he was using some suit?

  • @EdMura77 he may have had briefs on but this guy doesn't use a suit normally. tbh im pretty sure it was just raw.

  • what a noob. he even tries to put his sleeves up higher like a faggot.

  • Have seen this lift so many times, and every time is no less impressive...mental!!!

  • I just turned 16 and a can bench that weight for 6 reps. RAW, no shirt or wraps. Imagine when I'm in my 20's and start taking steroids. Did I mention I'm female?

  • @ogrezim fuck you. your an idiot. waste of space. go cry bitch.

  • @ogrezim fuck you. your an idiot. waste of space. go cry bitch.

  • @ogrezim fuck you. your an idiot. waste of space. go cry bitch.

  • @ogrezim LOL! love those comments you always get on any weightlifters vids

  • What holds your fucking shoulders in place? Your upper back muscles and lats.....Who in the fucking world has strong enough upper back muscles and lats to hold this weight without a little rounding....Fuck whoever is arguing about form....THIS IS AMAZING

  • Can god create a boulder so heavy even he can't lift it? Yes, that's why he created Benedikt Magnusson.

  • That was serious! Great form. Great pull. Didn't even struggle. His glutes and hams must be rock solid.

  • dear god, the man looks like a gorilla!!!

  • I think the nickname Obelix suits him very well xD thumb up if you agree

  • damn!

  • i didnt know the stay-puff marshmallow man was real

  • amazing

  • he's going to really screw up his back with that form

  • @bobbyness1 you are right. this world class power lifter should listen to a youtuber about form.

  • @iamtheonlygod1 You sir are an idiot. You can still have bad form no matter how 'world class' you are... Did it ever occur to you that people on youtube actually are real people, that have knowledge on things other than how to act like a condescending dick on the internet?

  • @bobbyness1 his form is fine for lifting 1000+lbs!

You are just like all the other clowns on youtube. Don't fucking say someones form is bad when they are a world champ and lifting over double what you can. It definitely occurs to me that you are a full retard.

  • @iamtheonlygod1 His form actually puts a lot of strain on his back, and with that amount of weight, he will cause some serious damage. I know this because I am studying medicine at Kings, and I am specializing in spines. What do you do? Other than insult people on the internet? Grow up you child

  • @bobbyness1 lol despite you being a specialist in spines, this guy def knows what hes doing. if its putting alot of strain on his back and the possibility of him doing some serous damage, how is he still deadlifting without ANY injuries? i dont even think he had any in the past AT ALL. the deadlift is not a back exercise. its a posterior chain exercise. hes focusing the weights on his glutes and hamstrings more than his lower back. not only that, maintaining a neutral spine will keep him fine

  • @SmexyPC Yeah, most of the strain goes on the lower back and ass for the deadlift. It doesn't even affect your upper back unless your form is all jacked up.

  • @VikingII you are a fucking moron.

  • @spitfire2005 you are a fucking moron.

  • @VikingII You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. 'Doesn't even affect your upper back unless your form is all jacked up'

were you being serious, or just trolling? Please tell me it's the latter. PLEASE GOD.

  • @spitfire2005 How does it affect the upper back in a serious capacity?

  • @VikingII have you ever even loaded a plate onto a barbell?

  • @spitfire2005 Yeah, lol, i'm not the strongest guy ever or anything, but I've gone up to 335lbs so far. I have never ever felt ANY kind of upper back strain.

  • @VikingII To pull weights like this you need to round the back at the bottom and straighten it out. No, not "that" kind of rounding you've heard is bad, the kind of moderate rounding of the upper back that only someone capable of pulling this much weight has the capacity to do safely.

  • @bobbyness1 you fucktard his back has adapted to this hes like living in a 5x more gravity than normal envoirment when hes lifting a bag of sand its no problem for him, he weighs 170 kg he could slap you and your face would rip off stupid "spine specialist" LOL HAHA

  • @bobbyness1 Thoracic rounding is common within the PLing world since it has far more range of motion and can handle more sheer stress than the lumbar. Though, the squat provides a lot of compression to the spine but you don't see Dr. Stuart McGill, the leader in spinal biomechanics, not recommending them, do you?

  • I'm jealous

  • Im far more impressed by his grip strength then the lift

  • @ICUTUUU

    ...Really?

  • Chuck Norris wants his Dumbbell back.

  • Um, by chance, did Zisteau send you?

  • shiniest fucking weights i ever seen

  • It's like he just kinda.... rolled it up lol.

  • @CarnifaxMachine That looked way too easy.

  • One beautiful lift.

  • Andy is a powerlifter. Benni is a deadlifter. Am I a genius or not?

  • @lkgurmer Ben does full powerlifting meets he did the Bullfarm meet this year and posted a nice raw total.

  • Did you see how easily he lifted that? Thats not far off half a tonne mate! o.O

  • Now let's have a who can touch their nose to the floor first contest

  • ummmmmmmmmmmmmm and he's not roiden....imagin if he was lol freggin a

  • @manbearpigcerealz Uh... yeah. He is. Anyone at this level is using steroids. That doesn't make it any less impressive, however.

  • i like his straight-forward approach, no silly breathing and legs up and down, like most people do on heavy deadlifts

  • Awesome strength!

  • he didnt beat andy in anything. this is raw, andys was suited. dont get me wrong, andy is a tremendous powerlifter, but benni is top dog atm.

  • A person seeking to be a great deadlifter should not feel obliged to break squat and bench press records. Squatting or benching as much as possible, whatever the range of motion, with or without equipment, requires the same degree of fortitude. But, if there were no such thing as an organized sport called powerlifting, no one would choose to squat and bench as they often do nowadays. Everyone (whose mind has not been corrupted by a "personal training" course) would squat like an olympic lifter.
