@cjwidd1 it requires A LOT of talent. Most people on youtube dont know what they are doing or are still in stages of progression, so thats why there are a lot of cover vids. Its taken me almost 1 year and a half to find the right technique, and probably a good year or half a year (if im lucky) to perfect all of it. Although, people like this guy are actually legit.

I think the best advice I heard was from Mitch Lucker in an interview. He said, "all these kids try so hard to sound like someone else, they don't concentrate on what they actually sound like" (something to that effect). I always thought that was very interesting because I definitely was more focused on what I did NOT sound like, (ie. Mitch L., Frankie P., Chris C., etc) than what I DID sound like. Changed my focus alot.

I really don't understand how they could not have chosen this guy. I mean it sort of defeated the purpose of an "open audition" when they ended up choosing Sonik from Fallen Figure, which, from what I believe, is an already popular band. ( I don't listen to them so I'm not sure.) But still, man. This guy has pretty vicious talent here. I just think it would have been a lot better if they chose an "average Joe" than a vocalist who is already know.
